She looked at the person dressed in all black and asked, "What are you doing?"
"I came to take your life," the man in black said coldly, "but I've changed my mind. Come and be my subordinate; I need a brother like you."
“Brother.” Ai Cao chewed on the word with a half-smile.
“Of course.” The man in black arrogantly raised his chin. “You’re quite skilled; you’d be perfect as my subordinate.”
Ai Cao touched her short hair and chuckled.
She then took two quick steps, thrusting her short sword straight at the black-clad man's face. The man retreated hastily, but the side room was only so big, and Ai Cao's forward momentum was extremely fast.
The short sword was about to pierce his eyeball—
But it suddenly plummeted downwards.
The fabric was slashed open by the short sword and slowly fell to the ground.
The attack from the mugwort did not harm him, but it removed the black veil covering the man's face.
A handsome and beautiful face appeared. His eyebrows and eyes were somewhat similar to the male protagonist we had seen before, but his appearance was more gentle and refined; he was a beauty in every way.

Ai Cao stood by the window. She glanced outside, closed the window, and casually wiped away the footprints with her sleeve.
Ai Cao said, "Has a thief broken in?...Okay, I'll move this bed to the main room in a bit."
