Interlude 115 (4)

The system chuckled dryly: "Indeed."

“Then let me see the rewards I received in the last world.” Ai Cao stretched out her hand. “You said the rewards were generous, let me see just how generous they were.”

The system proudly replied, "Of course!"

Four small, milky-white specks of light emerged from the spindle and floated towards the mugwort.

The system's enthusiastic voice rang out: "First of all, there will be no battles in the next world; the world itself has a good self-repairing ability, so you won't be as busy as in the last world, and you can rest more."

The small spot of light on the far left slowly grew larger, becoming a ball of light the size of a basketball.

Within the ball of light, a beautiful woman with long, black, curly hair and red lips sat alone in a coffee shop. She wore a long black dress with many pearls draped at the hem and an exquisitely carved jade pendant around her neck, clearly indicating her wealth.

"The modern world," the system said. "I'll tell you the specifics once you're in this world."

Before Ai Cao could say anything, the system continued, "The luck of the last world—it was more than I had previously estimated!" Its voice revealed unexpected elation, "So we can upgrade a skill. In addition to the predetermined reward, the platform also gave us an extra promise."

The ball of light on the far right in front of the mugwort jumped up and down.

The system said, "This ball of light is a reward from the central platform—a bridge that can connect to the small world."

Artemisia asked, "Can I go back to the world I was in before?"

The system replied confidently, "Of course!"

Ai Cao smiled, showed the system the clump of fox fur and the bead of fox blood in her hand, and asked, "How should I carry these two?"

The system pondered for a moment and then said, "Why don't you eat it too?"

After thinking for a moment, Ai Cao decided not to follow the system's advice. Instead, she twisted the fox fur into a fox fur rope, wrapped the blood droplets in it, and hung both of them around her neck.

The pendant around her neck, the puppy's baby teeth, and the fox's blood beads touched each other.

The system asked, "What skill do you want to upgrade?"

Ai Cao thought for a moment and said, "If I upgrade [Good Pregnancy] again, can more souls be reborn in the same person?"

The system was silent for a moment, then said, "From a material point of view, it won't work; from an algorithmic point of view, it won't work either. A man is already quite despicable; this system has exceptionally granted them the ability to reproduce, and they should be grateful; how could we possibly let them have two?"

Ai Cao smiled and raised her chin toward the bridge, saying, "Then I want to upgrade this so that the female protagonists in different small worlds can communicate with each other."

The system doesn't understand, but it does it anyway.

As for the promise from the platform—Ai Cao plans to keep it for now and talk about it when she needs it.

She stretched and said, "Let's go."
