Chapter 573 From Down-on-his-luck Assistant to Top Agent (29)
A dozen minutes later, Zhao Yiran was pulled out of the water.
It was early winter. Although the daytime temperature wasn't low, the nights were truly bitterly cold. Not to mention, after being pulled out of the water, the wind blew so hard that Zhao Yiran shivered and couldn't utter a single word. She could only point at Jin Shu, her eyes red and glaring at her resentfully.
Zhao Yiran was taken to the county hospital. When she finally regained consciousness, the first thing she did was shout for the police to be called.
"Call the police!! Officer, I need to call the police! Someone is trying to murder me!"
Her emotions were quite unstable, so the police arrived quickly.
"Officer, I didn't fall into the water on my own! I was pushed in! Jin Shu pushed me in!"
Seeing that she was quite emotionally unstable, the police asked her to relax and talk slowly.
Zhao Yiran was shivering from the cold, and coupled with the great shock, even after she calmed down, her speech was incoherent.
Finally, the police officer seemed to understand what she meant, but still asked a question in disbelief.
"You mean, a woman dragged you for over a hundred meters with one hand, then threw you into the river, while she covered your mouth with her other hand to keep you from making a sound?"
"That's exactly it! What she did was outright murder!"
The two police officers exchanged a glance, then called Jin Shu over to ask her about the situation.
"Ms. Zhao said that you dragged her into the water, so we have a few questions to ask you."
"Okay, sure."
The police then asked several questions, which Jin Shu answered one by one. Finally, she calmly stood up.
"I never expected her to say that I dragged her in. I was just taking a walk when I heard some noise in the river and suspected that someone had fallen in, so I shouted for help."
I didn't do anything else. If she insists I did it, she should provide evidence.
There was absolutely no flaw in Jin Shu's demeanor; after all, her calm demeanor was tinged with a hint of disbelief and anger.
The police couldn't get any answers from her and quickly let her go.
Upon learning of this, Zhao Yiran became even more agitated, but she still retained some rationality and immediately spoke up.
“You can go to the riverbank and take a look; there are definitely footprints there! She dragged me there last night too! She must have left a lot of footprints!”
Upon hearing this, the policeman frowned, his expression stiffening slightly.
“Of course we know what you’re saying. We went to the riverbank immediately. Here are pictures from the scene. In our opinion, the footprints at the scene last night show that you walked into the water on your own, and there are no signs of a struggle.”
Zhao Yiran was stunned when she heard this.
"How is that possible!"
She took out her phone and looked at the photos one by one. There really was only one set of footprints on the muddy riverbank! Even Zhao Yiran, who wasn't a professional, could tell that these footprints could only belong to one person.
"How could this be?! You must be mistaken! This can't be possible!"
The two policemen stood up and stood at attention.
"I'm sorry, based on the evidence you've provided and the evidence we've gathered, there was indeed no one else by the river last night. Get some rest and come to the police station to sign some papers when you feel better."
Zhao Yiran remained frozen on the bed until everyone had left before she slowly raised her head. As soon as she looked up, she saw Jin Shu standing outside the door.
Upon suddenly seeing Jin Shu's face, Zhao Yiran felt as if she had seen a ghost, her whole body trembling, and she couldn't help but scoot towards the headboard.
"Don't be afraid, I'm just passing by and thought I'd drop by to see you."
"Jin Shu! What on earth have you done?! Why are there no more of your footprints on the riverbank?!"
Jin Shu watched as her hand, hidden behind her back, frantically fiddled with her phone, smiled helplessly, and then said something to her.
"That's because I've never been there before. You feel you need to see a psychologist."
"I'm not sick, you deliberately made me like this, you want to kill me!"
"Fine, fine, I want to kill you, okay? I have work to do. You get some rest, and don't ever walk by the river too often in the future."
After saying that, Jin Shu turned and left, leaving Zhao Yiran in the ward, clutching her phone, filled with impotent rage.
Because of her serious illness after falling into the water, Zhao still has to stay in the hospital to recover.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Jiang Huaizhi's variety show recording had also gotten on track.
Now that Zhao Yiran, the only troublemaker, has been dealt with, as long as he gets along well with his teammates in the early stages, and with Jiang Huaizhi's personality and abilities, there won't be any major problems later on, even without Jin Shu watching over him.
So after saying something to Jiang Huaizhi, Jin Shu packed her things and left the filming location.
Before leaving, Jiang Huaizhi seemed a little reluctant, as if he had suddenly lost his backbone, which made him somewhat uneasy.
Then Jin Shu only said one sentence and he immediately became obedient.
"If you don't want to become famous, keep holding on to me and don't let me go."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Huai immediately released his hand and watched Jin Shu's car slowly drive out of sight.
What happens during the next recording is no longer Jin Shu's concern. She wants to become an excellent agent, and she can't just spend time on just one artist.
This is the same principle as not putting all your eggs in one basket; Jin Shu never makes plans for only one thing.
In a downtown bar, under dim lights and with soothing music, a wolf-tailed boy holding a microphone is singing with his eyes closed on the stage in the center of the dance floor. His voice isn't particularly distinctive, but because of his slender body and the overly pale and delicate face beneath his short wolf-tail hair, many people come here every day specifically to order a drink and quietly "watch" him sing.
The performance was over. Zhang Huan changed his clothes and went outside. As soon as he got to the door, he saw a low-key yet luxurious Porsche parked outside.
He was used to seeing this kind of car; after all, this bar was a high-end establishment, and there were plenty of young men and women who came in luxury cars every day to enjoy themselves.
He was just about to walk around it when the car door opened right in front of him.
The driver was a young woman with a simple ponytail. Her face behind the sunglasses had a pure and simple quality, like a girl next door, but the way she held the steering wheel with one hand revealed a relaxed and lazy demeanor.
"Hello Zhang Huan, my name is Jin Shu. Would you like to sit down for a drink and a chat sometime?"
Zhang Huan subconsciously took a step back, looked at Jin Shu, and suddenly smiled.
"Sorry, you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm not a man."
“I know, Zhang Huan, female, 21 years old, a senior at the Central Conservatory of Music, you are the one I’m looking for.”
