After a moment of dizziness, Xiaoli opened her eyes and felt a chill behind her.
She turned slightly to the side and looked behind her. A little girl, about eight or nine years old, smiled brightly at her.
If Xiao Li wasn't mistaken, it was this little girl who was sending chills at her.
In the blink of an eye, her expression changed; it changed very quickly.
"My disciple, come to your master."
Xiao Li looked up and saw a gentle-looking woman waving at her.
She walked over, and the woman pointed to the empty seat behind her, so Xiaoli obediently stood in place.
A boy of about thirteen or fourteen years old next to her patted her hair with a smile, looking very happy.
Xiao Li calmly surveyed her surroundings. It was a large hall, with a long-bearded man sitting at the head of the table.
The two rows below each have eight people in the main seats, all of whom have an air of otherworldly elegance. Behind each of them stand several young disciples.
Several young boys were standing in the middle of the hall, clearly indicating that this was a ceremony to accept apprentices. Xiaoli knew what was going on.
He must have just finished becoming an apprentice, and the girl who had just glared at him was probably a companion who came with him.
Xiaoli silently recited in her heart, "Receive the plot!" A memory slowly unfolded.
?
This is the Sumeru Continent, a world of cultivation. 500 miles from the foot of the first sect, Changhong Sect, there is a small village nestled against the mountains and beside the water, where people live in peace and contentment, with plenty of food and clothing.
One evening, a black fog enveloped the entire village, and from within the fog appeared a demonic cultivator with bloodshot eyes.
He moved through the village as if it were his own territory, and the killing began.
In less than half an hour, no one in the village was alive. He did not see that two trembling girls were huddled together in the small earth god temple at the entrance of the village.
A moment later, a fairy-like immortal appeared in the village. He was none other than Luo Yi Zhenjun of the Changhong Sect.
Immortals and demons have always been irreconcilable enemies. After a fierce battle, the demon cultivator was no match for him and was killed by True Lord Luo Yi's sword.
While wandering through the village, Lord Luoyi discovered two children when he passed by the local temple.
After burying everyone in the village, he took the two children back to Changhongzong.
Both children possessed spiritual roots and embarked on the path of cultivation.
One of the children, Wen Li, was more talented and was taken in as a closed-door disciple by True Monarch Luo Xuan. The other child, Wen Xi, had five spiritual roots, but she could only serve as a menial disciple.
Their fates diverged from that point on; one lived a princess-like life, while the other suffered a miserable existence, struggling to survive in the cracks of society every day.
Five years later, during the sect competition, Wen Xi emerged out of nowhere and defeated the young genius Wen Li, and the two of them changed their circumstances again.
Wen Xi was taken in as the last disciple by the sect's only Nascent Soul Ancestor, Star Essence Ancestor, and she instantly became the sect's darling.
Wen Li was gossiped about and pointed at by his fellow disciples everywhere.
But her master and fellow disciples doted on her, and she paid no attention to the gossip. She was only happy for her only fellow villager.
Wenxi and Wenli started spending more time together, and sometimes they would even go out together to gain experience.
Wenxi is a troublemaker and has offended many people, but she always uses the name Wenli.
As a result, without Wen Li's knowledge, she made more and more enemies.
Later, Wenxi offended the Holy Maiden of Shuiyue Courtyard. That woman was extremely vicious. She kidnapped Wenli, but after realizing she had kidnapped the wrong person, she did not release her. Instead, she gave her to a demonic cultivator to be used as a furnace.
Wen Li hated the demonic cultivator to the core. Unwilling to be humiliated, she chose to perish together with him, exploding her meridians and dying a gruesome death.
Wenxi, however, cultivated the Great Dao in this world and eventually ascended to become an immortal.
?
Xiao Li came to her senses. This was a story about a mortal cultivating to immortality. It was just a pity that the original owner of the body was innocently killed, and the culprit was someone she thought was her good friend.
Little did she know that Wenxi had been jealous of her from the beginning, and later she continued to frame her.
Xiao Li looked at the sky. Was the Heavenly Dao blind? How could the female protagonist of this world be such a person? This time, however, there was no one to answer her questions.
"Junior sister, why are you unhappy?"
The little boy next to her spoke softly to her. Xiao Li looked over and saw that it was her second senior brother, Qing Ran.
He took a small candy out of his pocket and handed it to Xiaoli.
"Here, this is for you, it's very sweet."
Xiao Li took it and thanked him with a smile.
Luo Xuan turned around and looked at the little disciple she had just taken in. She saw that Xiao Li had a childlike face and showed no sadness.
She felt much more relaxed. She was still a little worried about the little girl, who might have suffered psychological trauma from witnessing her loved ones die at the hands of demonic cultivators.
Seeing her so composed and calm, Luo Xuan felt much more at ease. She saw her second disciple sharing his candy with his junior sister, and she turned around and smiled with satisfaction.
Xiao Li looked at the five children remaining in the hall. They all had mixed spiritual roots, three or four spiritual roots, while Wen Xi was the only one with five spiritual roots.
When True Lord Luo Yi brought them back to the sect, it happened to be the disciple-acceptance ceremony, so they became disciples along with the other junior disciples.
"You should all go to the outer sect. If you haven't reached the Qi Refining stage in a year, then go down the mountain."
Several people knelt down in the hall to express their gratitude, and then followed a steward away.
Wenxi looked at Xiaoli. She was really envious of Wenli for being able to have such a powerful master, and for her master and fellow disciples to protect her so much, while she could only do menial tasks.
But she wasn't afraid, because she had a treasure. She gave Xiaoli a meaningful smile.
In Wenxi's sea of consciousness, an ancient bead turned slightly, startling Wenxi. She quickly lowered her head and obediently followed the person in front of her.
Xiao Li instantly sensed the spatial fluctuations; her soul was extremely sensitive to spatial energy, which was why she was able to detect them.
The True Lords sitting in the hall, despite their high level of cultivation, were completely unaware of what was happening.
"Dear senior brothers and sisters, I just accepted a disciple. Aren't you going to give him a gift?"
When Luo Xuan saw that her senior brothers and sisters were about to leave, she quickly spoke up.
The sect leader, sitting at the head of the table, glanced helplessly at Luo Xuan; this junior sister was the most mischievous and clever.
He took out a jade bottle from his storage bag, and the others quickly took out their items as well, threw them to Luo Xuan, and then left in a hurry.
Xiao Li watched this scene with amusement, never expecting her cheap master to be such a mischievous person.
Luo Xuan put everything into a jade bracelet and then gave it to Xiao Li to wear on her wrist.
"Disciple, this is a storage bracelet. Once you have mastered the sect, you can use it."
Xiao Li quickly expressed her gratitude. True Lord Luo Xuan was truly exceptionally kind to the original owner of this body, not only meticulously guiding her cultivation but also taking great care of her in her daily life.
Luo Xuan took Xiao Li's hand and returned to Guanyun Peak, where she lived. The scenery here was beautiful and the spiritual energy was rich. It was a wonderful place.
As Xiao Li looked at the sky, she felt a vague unease.
She felt a sense of oppression, an indescribable feeling, just general unease.
