Chapter 13 Shattered Youth 3

Lin Qian stood on the street, her gaze resolute as she looked ahead, planning her next move. First, she had to address some pressing practical issues, such as the 200,000 yuan compensation the original owner needed for dropping out of school. However, Lin Qian wasn't too worried about this; she clearly remembered that her system inventory contained a considerable amount of gold bars and jewelry, enough to solve her immediate predicament.

"003, we need to find a place to exchange these gold bars and jewelry for money," Lin Qian thought to herself.

"No problem, Master. I've already found a few nearby shops that might be willing to buy." 003's voice rang out in Lin Qian's mind.

"003, we need to find a place to exchange these gold bars and jewelry for money," Lin Qian thought to herself, her tone tinged with urgency.

"No problem, Master. I've found several nearby shops that might be willing to acquire it. The closest one is a jewelry store called 'Treasure Pavilion.' According to my analysis, this store has a good reputation and strength, so it should be a good choice." 003's voice rang in Lin Qian's mind.

Following 003's directions, Lin Qian walked through streets and finally arrived at the "Treasure Pavilion" jewelry store. The store was located on a relatively quiet street corner. Although the store's exterior was understated, the antique wooden doors and windows and the red lanterns hanging at the entrance gave it a unique charm.

Lin Qian took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and went inside. A faint sandalwood scent filled the shop, making one feel refreshed and relaxed. The shop wasn't large, but it was exquisitely decorated. The walls were covered with various jewelry pieces, their dazzling light intertwining under the lights to create a magnificent spectacle. In the center of the shop stood a black wooden counter, behind which sat a shrewd middle-aged man—the shop owner.

Hearing the door open, the shop owner looked up and scrutinized Lin Qian from head to toe. His eyes held a hint of doubt and wariness, as if he were trying to guess the young girl's intentions.

"Young lady, do you have anything to sell?" the shop owner asked, his voice deep and magnetic, carrying a seasoned composure.

Lin Qian met the shop owner's gaze without fear, calmly took out three gold bars and a piece of jewelry from her backpack, and gently placed them on the counter. Her movements were elegant and confident, as if these valuable items were nothing more than ordinary things to her.

"Boss, how much are these worth?" Lin Qian said, her tone calm and firm, leaving no room for doubt.

The shop owner picked up the gold bars and jewelry and examined them carefully. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. The gold bars were pure in color and without any impurities, while the jewelry was exquisitely crafted, with the gemstone's facets as smooth as a mirror, reflecting a mesmerizing light.

"These items are of quite good quality, young lady. Name your price," the shop owner said, secretly admiring the quality of the treasures while also calculating how to acquire them at the lowest possible price.

Lin Qian had already made her decision. She calmly quoted a price: "Gold bars are priced at 90% of the market price, and this piece of jewelry will cost me 800,000."

Upon hearing the price, the shop owner looked troubled. He hesitated for a moment before saying, "Young lady, your price is a bit high. I can give you the gold bars at 80% of the market price, and for the jewelry, 600,000 is the highest price I can offer."

Lin Qian smiled slightly and said, "Boss, don't take advantage of me because I don't know the market. You've seen the quality of these things yourself; they're definitely worth the price. And I believe you're a discerning person in this industry and wouldn't miss out on such good stuff."

The shop owner was secretly surprised. This young girl looked quite young, but she spoke with remarkable eloquence and was not someone to be trifled with. He examined the gold bars and jewelry again carefully, weighing the pros and cons in his mind.

The shop owner coughed lightly and tried again to lower the price: "Young lady, it's not that I don't know quality, it's just that the price is really..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Qian simply grabbed the three gold bars and a piece of jewelry and put them back in her backpack, saying casually, "Since the boss finds it difficult, then forget it. I'll go look at other stores." With that, she turned and left without hesitation, her steps firm and decisive.

The faded white shirt Lin Qian wore was so worn that its original color was probably impossible to discern, with slight wear and tear on the collar and cuffs. Her jeans also looked old, the fabric at the knees appearing thin, as if telling a story of the years they had endured. Yet, this simple outfit, worn by Lin Qian, exuded a unique charm.

"Hey, young lady, don't be in such a hurry to leave!" The shop owner panicked when he saw Lin Qian about to leave. Anyone who could open a shop in such a bustling area was shrewd and capable. He could tell at a glance that the items Lin Qian brought were of superior quality, definitely rare finds. If he let Lin Qian leave like this, he would definitely regret it.

Seeing Lin Qian stop, the shop owner quickly put on a big smile and said eagerly, "Young lady, doing business is all about bargaining. How about this, I'll add a little more. Gold bars are currently priced at 550 yuan per gram. These three gold bars, each weighing one jin (500 grams), would be 825,000 yuan. I'll offer 1.2 million yuan for the jewelry. What do you think?"

Lin Qian's lips curled up slightly, revealing a sly smile that was barely perceptible: "Boss, your price still doesn't quite satisfy me. You know the value of these things yourself."

"I still hope the gold bars will be valued at 90% of the market price, and the jewelry at least 1.5 million, not a penny less, otherwise there's no point in discussing it." Lin Qian's tone was firm, her eyes revealing an unwavering determination, showing no intention of backing down.
