"What exactly did you two do at school?" Zhao Peng's father was the first to attack, his voice filled with anger and disappointment, like a sharp sword piercing the hearts of Zhao Peng and Sun Hao.
Zhao Peng and Sun Hao lowered their heads, like two frightened quails, not daring to look their parents in the eye. They knew in their hearts that their bullying at school had been exposed.
"Speak!" Sun Hao's father couldn't help but slam his hand on the table, the loud noise causing Zhao Peng and Sun Hao to tremble involuntarily. "Do you even know how big a crisis the company is facing right now?"
Zhao Peng raised his head tremblingly, trying to explain, "Dad, we just disciplined a disobedient classmate at school, we didn't expect her to..."
"Do you think this is just a small matter?" Zhao Peng's father interrupted him angrily. "The company has suffered huge losses because of this! You must take responsibility for this!"
Sun Hao hurriedly said, "Dad, we know we were wrong. We'll find a way to solve this problem."
"Find a way? What way can you possibly have?" Zhao Peng's father sneered. "The only way now is for you to apologize to that classmate and try to get her to withdraw those pieces of evidence, otherwise the company will really be finished!"
Zhao Peng and Sun Hao exchanged a glance. Although they were reluctant, they understood that this was the only way out of their predicament.
"Alright, you two hurry up and get on with it!" Sun Hao's father waved his hand impatiently, as if shooing away two disgusting flies.
Zhao Peng and Sun Hao left home helplessly, looking disheveled and filled with resentment. They felt it was all Lin Qian's fault; if it weren't for her, they wouldn't be in such a miserable situation.
