Chapter 31 The Concubine's Daughter Cultivates Immortality 1

Lin Qian struggled to open her eyes, her head feeling as if it had been struck by a thousand-pound hammer, the pain almost causing her to faint. She tried with difficulty to make out her surroundings, and what came into view was a secluded courtyard.

The courtyard wall, weathered and worn, seemed to silently tell stories of the past. Weeds grew rampant, untrimmed, giving the courtyard an air of desolation and decay. A gentle breeze rustled the weeds, intensifying the bleak atmosphere.

Lin Qian raised her hand to rub her head, but felt a warm liquid. She was startled and looked down to see her hand covered in blood. The glaring red made her heart race.

"003, scan the surroundings for anyone." Lin Qian said, her voice weak but calm, despite her headache.

"Alright, host!" A childish, mechanical voice rang in Lin Qian's mind. This was 003. "I'll begin the scan now!"

A moment later, 003 cheerfully said, "Host, there's no one around!"

Lin Qian breathed a sigh of relief, a resolute glint in her eyes, and said, "003, get out the hemostatic medicine."

“No problem, host!” 003 replied, and soon, a bottle of hemostatic medicine appeared in Lin Qian’s hand.

Lin Qian took out a mirror from her system space and, looking in it, skillfully began to treat her wounds. After treating them, she took out a bottle of energy potion from her system space and drank it all in one gulp. Gradually, she felt her strength returning.

Although Lin Qian's mind was somewhat muddled at this moment, her eyes did not reveal much panic. After all, she had traveled through many worlds, and such scenes were not unfamiliar to her. Her personality had always been decisive and efficient, and she was never afraid of difficulties.

Lin Qian looked around, trying to find some clues in this desolate place. The secluded courtyard was overgrown with weeds, and the dilapidated walls seemed to tell the story of the vicissitudes of time. A gentle breeze blew, rustling the weeds and adding to the desolate atmosphere.

She slowly turned her body, her gaze finally settling on the house in the courtyard. The house looked quite old; the walls had lost their original brightness and appeared dull and lackluster.

Lin Qian walked towards the house, each step firm and resolute. She carefully pushed open the door, and a musty, dusty smell wafted out. The room was dimly lit, its furnishings simple and cluttered. A worn-out table leaned against the wall, covered in dust and cobwebs. Several chairs lay scattered haphazardly on the floor, as if they had survived a silent struggle.

Lin Qian frowned slightly, then continued walking inside without hesitation. Her footsteps echoed clearly in the empty room. Some miscellaneous items were piled up in a corner, their contents unclear. The windowpane was broken, and a cool breeze blew in through the cracks.

Lin Qian walked around the room and finally stopped in a relatively clean corner.

"003, prepare to receive the original owner's memories," Lin Qian said, her tone filled with unwavering determination.

"Host, you're ready. The memory transfer is about to begin!" 003 said with a hint of concern.

Lin Qian closed her eyes, waiting for the memories to flood in.

Lin Qian felt a sharp pain in her head, and a flood of memories rushed in like a tidal wave.

The original owner of this body, being an illegitimate daughter of the Lin family, lost her mother at a young age and lived an extremely difficult life in the Lin family. She suffered endless bullying in this family, and no one cared about her life or death, as if she were an insignificant existence in this family.

It was a gloomy day. As usual, the original owner of this body was struggling to find meager resources for survival in the mountains. Just when she was on the verge of despair and about to give up, fate seemed to finally bestow upon her a fleeting, almost imperceptible, kindness. In a secluded corner, she discovered a spiritual herb radiating a mysterious light. Upon closer inspection, she was overjoyed to discover that it was a precious level 4 spiritual herb. This should have been a golden opportunity for her to change her fate; however, she never expected that this herb would plunge her into an even darker abyss.

The eldest daughter of the Lin family, who was also the original owner's cousin, was the most pampered member of the family. She was always surrounded by a group of sycophantic followers. When these followers learned that the original owner possessed a spiritual herb, their eyes instantly ignited with greed. In their eyes, this orphaned and helpless illegitimate daughter was utterly unworthy of such a treasure. Therefore, they viciously approached the original owner and launched a brutal attack on her without a word.

The original owner knew that this spiritual herb was her only hope to change her fate, and she fought back desperately. Unfortunately, her strength seemed so insignificant in front of these people. She was beaten black and blue, collapsed to the ground, and gasped for breath in pain.

Seeing the original owner lying motionless on the ground, the henchmen mistakenly assumed she was dead and ruthlessly stole the spiritual herb. They looted all her belongings, including a jade pendant passed down from her mother. The pendant was unremarkable in appearance, and they considered it a worthless trinket, completely unaware of its true value. They took the spiritual herb and some of the original owner's miscellaneous items.

The news of the original owner's death was informed to the eldest daughter of the Lin family. Upon hearing this, the eldest daughter merely gave a cold snort, her heart not stirred by much emotion. She casually waved her hand, dispatching two maids to check on the original owner's condition.

The young lady merely glanced at it indifferently before putting the spiritual herb into her storage box and then into her own storage bag. She felt the jade pendant was somewhat unique, seemingly possessing an indescribable charm, so she casually tossed it into a corner of her storage bag, forgetting about it as she was preoccupied with other matters.
