Chapter 36 The Concubine's Daughter Cultivates Immortality 6

A group of people slowly made their way along the winding mountain path, the surrounding scenery unfolding like a scroll painting. Towering ancient trees pierced the sky, their dense branches intertwining to completely block out the sunlight, leaving only slivers of light filtering through the leaves, like golden threads scattering across the ground, creating dappled patches of light. The clear chirping of birds rose and fell through the forest, like a beautiful symphony, adding a touch of life and vitality to this tranquil landscape.

"Wow, it's so beautiful!" The youngest, Lin Qian, exclaimed, his eyes wide with amazement and curiosity. This was his first time visiting Qingyun Mountain, and everything before him was incredibly new and fascinating. Like a joyful little bird, he looked around, filled with a desire to explore everything around him.

"Yes, it truly is a wonderful place for cultivating immortality. The spiritual energy here is so abundant!" Lin Yao couldn't help but exclaim. She took a deep breath, and the fresh air entered her body through her nostrils, making her feel instantly refreshed, as if every cell had been infused with new vitality, and her whole being was filled with energy.

"Stop looking around, hurry up and get going!" Master Lin Feng, who was walking ahead, called out as he turned around. His voice broke the children's reverie, "The entrance test is about to begin, and it will be troublesome if we are late."

Hearing Master Lin Feng's words, the children seemed to awaken from a dream and quickened their pace. They trudged along the mountain path, their clothes soaked with sweat, but their eyes remained filled with determination and anticipation.

After nearly two hours of arduous trekking, they finally arrived at the gates of the Qingyun Sect. The sight before them stunned the Lin family members; it was as if they had entered a dreamlike world.

A colossal white jade archway stood tall, like a bridge to the heavens. The dragon and phoenix carvings on it were so lifelike, as if they might take flight at any moment, exuding an aura of solemnity and majesty. Below the archway, two vermilion gates stood open, like outstretched arms welcoming students seeking knowledge. In front of the gates was a plaza paved with white marble, smooth as a mirror, shimmering brilliantly in the sunlight. The plaza was bustling with activity, teeming with young people from all over, their eyes filled with anticipation for the future and a yearning for immortality.

"Wow, is this the Qingyun Sect? How impressive!" Lin Qian couldn't help but exclaim again. His eyes sparkled with excitement, a light that held boundless anticipation for the future.

"Yes, it's spectacular!" the other children echoed, their voices filled with awe and joy.

The Lin family disciples followed closely behind Daoist Lin Feng, curiously observing their surroundings. There were scions of noble families dressed in splendid attire, their robes gleaming and displaying their family's glory; and there were also disciples from humble backgrounds dressed simply, their eyes filled with determination and resilience, yearning to change their fate through cultivation. But regardless of who they were, their eyes all shone with anticipation for the future and a longing for cultivation.

Continuing uphill along the bluestone path, a refreshing and invigorating atmosphere permeates the air, like a gentle spring breeze that soothes the soul. Towering trees line the roadside, their lush foliage like giant green umbrellas, shielding people from the scorching sun.

"Wow, the spiritual energy here is so rich!" Lin Qian took a deep breath, a look of rapture on his face. He could almost feel the spiritual energy flowing through his body, nourishing every cell in his body.

“Yes, the spiritual energy here is much stronger than in our house,” Lin Yao added, her face beaming with happiness.

This was the first time the children had visited the Qingyun Sect, and everything there filled them with awe and wonder. They knew that from this moment on, their lives would take a new turn.

As the mountain rose higher, a magnificent mountain gate appeared ahead. Constructed of massive bluestones, the gate stood ten zhang tall, its imposing presence awe-inspiring. Above the gate was a huge plaque bearing the three golden characters "Qingyun Sect," written in a powerful, flowing style, seemingly imbued with boundless power and majesty, inspiring awe in all who beheld it.

In front of the sect, two rows of disciples dressed in blue Taoist robes stood guard, each with a solemn expression, sharp eyes, and long swords at their waists, exuding a fierce aura.

Upon seeing this, Daoist Lin Feng quickly straightened his clothes, led the children forward, and bowed, saying, "The Lin family of Qingyun Town has come to participate in the entrance examination."

One of the gatekeepers stepped forward, his sharp gaze sweeping over the Lin family members, and asked in a deep voice, "Do you have any proof?"

"This is the clan emblem of our Lin family." Daoist Lin Feng quickly took out a jade plaque engraved with the character "Lin" from his pocket and handed it over.

The disciple took the jade token, examined it carefully, and after confirming that it was correct, nodded, stepped aside to make way, and said in a deep voice, "Go in. The assessment location is Qingyun Square."

Master Lin Feng thanked him and then led the children through the mountain gate.

Passing through the mountain gate, a vast plaza suddenly appeared before them. The plaza was packed with people, bustling with activity, as young people from various families gathered here, awaiting the start of the entrance examination.

"The Qingyun Sect looks so impressive!" Lin Yu said softly.

"Yes, I don't know if we can pass the test," Lin Ting replied with some worry.

"What's there to be afraid of? Our Lin family's descendants are definitely fine!" Lin Feng said confidently.

"You're just talking big. This assessment is definitely not going to be easy," Lin Hao said in a low voice.

The children chattered amongst themselves, their voices not loud, but still somewhat noisy in the otherwise quiet atmosphere.
