Chapter 4: Educated Youth Sent Down to the Countryside (3)

After reading the original story, Lin Qian's eyes revealed a hint of anger and determination.

"003, the original owner's experience was too tragic! I will never let Su Yao, that vicious woman, get away with it!" Lin Qian said angrily.

"Host, please don't get agitated. You've already completed several missions, and you'll definitely succeed in avenging the original owner this time as well," 003 comforted him.

Sitting in the room, Lin Qian said to 003 with a serious expression, "003, quickly scan the private savings and bank accounts of everyone in the Lin family, and also search for factory job postings. I need to find a way to change the current situation as soon as possible."

003 quickly got to work, and soon the results were in. Looking at the information before her, Lin Qian couldn't help but feel a pang of emotion. Her father worked in a factory, and her mother worked in a textile factory; their family's financial situation should have been decent. But surprisingly, she herself only had a little over a dollar in savings, painstakingly saved bit by bit while helping her mother with groceries—it had taken her several years to accumulate that amount. Meanwhile, everyone else in the family had their own savings. Even her fifth sister and sixth brother, both in junior high, had over ten dollars each. Her eldest sister was a temporary worker at a food factory and was currently dating someone through a blind date, planning to get married. Her third brother, not wanting to go to the countryside, had been frantically going on blind dates, hoping to stay in the city through marriage. It seemed only she, the unloved and neglected child, was destined for the countryside.

Lin Qian sneered inwardly. These people always kept their secrets hidden, and she couldn't let it go so easily. She decided to take all their secret stashes before going to the countryside.

To carry out this plan, Lin Qian began to meticulously plan. She had 003 scan every corner of the house to pinpoint the location where everyone hid their secret stash of money. At the same time, she herself devised a way to create an alibi.

That day, Lin Qian went out early in the morning, deliberately loitering around in front of her neighbors. When she saw acquaintances, she would sigh and complain that she was going to the countryside and that her family hadn't prepared anything for her, looking quite pitiful.

"Oh my, Lin Qian, you're going to the countryside soon? What has your family prepared for you?" an older woman asked curiously.

Lin Qian lowered her head and pretended to be aggrieved, saying, "Auntie, please don't mention it. My mom didn't prepare anything for me. I feel so bad."

"What? How can this be? Going to the countryside is no small matter. How could your mother do this?" the woman said in surprise.

Lin Qian sighed, "I can't help it, my family is probably struggling too. But I heard that going to the countryside costs a lot of money, and I only have a little over a dollar on me. I don't know what to do."

Hearing this, everyone expressed their sympathy. This was exactly the effect Lin Qian wanted; she wanted the neighbors to know that her family hadn't prepared anything for her, so that her father would feel obligated to give her money out of face.

When Lin Qian got home, she noticed that her father looked unwell. Sure enough, he called her mother aside and whispered something to her. After a while, her mother reluctantly took out 50 yuan and handed it to Lin Qian.

“Take this 50 yuan and be careful with it when you get to the countryside,” Lin’s mother said.

Lin Qian took the money, secretly pleased with herself. This was just the first step; next, she would get her hands on all the other people's secret stashes of money.

Before dawn, in the pitch-black night, Lin Qian tiptoed out of bed, each movement careful, afraid of making a sound that might wake her family. She dressed, quietly opened the door, and slipped out of the house like a nimble cat.

Lin Qian arrived at Grandma Wang's house in the next neighborhood. Grandma Wang was elderly, and her children didn't live with her. Today, she happened to have some heavy things that needed help moving. Without saying a word, Lin Qian rolled up her sleeves and started working.

"Lin Qian, thank you so much for coming to help me so early in the morning," Grandma Wang said gratefully.

"Grandma Wang, please don't be so polite. It's all I should do," Lin Qian replied with a smile, but her hands didn't stop moving.

While helping Grandma Wang with chores, Lin Qian's thoughts had already drifted back to her own home. She was silently communicating with 003 in her mind.

"003, have you decided where the family's secret stash of money is located?" Lin Qian asked.

"Master, everything has been confirmed. We're just waiting for you to go back and take action," 003's voice echoed in Lin Qian's mind.

Lin Qian sped up her work, and after helping Grandma Wang finish everything, she hurriedly said goodbye and rushed back home.

After confirming that everyone in the family had left, Lin Qian quickly returned home. She first went to her fifth sister's room and, following the information provided by 003, easily found the dozen or so yuan that her fifth sister had hidden in a compartment of the toy box.

"This little girl, it's not hard to find a place to hide money," Lin Qian muttered to herself as she put the money into her pocket.

Next, she went to her sixth brother's room. In a hidden compartment of his schoolbag, she easily found his secret stash of money.

"This kid is pretty good at hiding his true intentions," Lin Qian said, pursing her lips.

Afterwards, Lin Qian went to her eldest sister's room. Her eldest sister hid her secret stash of money quite well, and Lin Qian searched through the wardrobe for a while before finally finding the money in a hidden compartment at the bottom.

"Hmph, did you really think I couldn't find it?" Lin Qian smiled smugly.

Next was her third brother's room. Lin Qian searched carefully behind the bookshelf and finally found a small box containing her third brother's secret stash of money.

"Finally found it. All that effort wasn't for nothing." Lin Qian wiped the sweat from her forehead.

After Lin Qian put all the money away, she was about to leave when she suddenly thought of her father's study. Since she had already started, she thought she might as well go and see if her father had hidden any money.
