Lin Qian looked at Ye Lingxi's lifeless corpse, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. She pulled the long sword from Ye Lingxi's chest. Ye Lingxi's once stunningly beautiful face was now covered in dust and blood, her former splendor gone.
"003, Ye Lingxi has been dealt with by me." Lin Qian said to the void, her tone calm, as if she had only done a trivial matter.
A moment later, 003's mechanical voice sounded in her mind: "Well done, Lin Qian. You completed this mission exceptionally well. Now, as long as you leave this world safely, this quick transmigration mission will be successfully completed."
"Okay, I'll find a way out as soon as possible," Lin Qian replied calmly. She bent down and began to skillfully deal with the scene. With a flick of her finger, a flame suddenly ignited, engulfing Ye Lingxi's corpse along with her blood-stained longsword.
After finishing all this, Lin Qian turned to leave, but her gaze suddenly fell on a jade pendant on the ground. The jade pendant was crystal clear, with intricate patterns carved on it, clearly not an ordinary item. Lin Qian bent down to pick up the jade pendant, and a cold sensation came from her fingertips, making her shiver involuntarily.
"003, this jade pendant looks a bit unusual. Do you know what it's for?" Lin Qian held the jade pendant up to her eyes and asked into the air.
003 was silent for a while, seemingly analyzing the situation, before saying, "I need to analyze this further. You should put the jade pendant away first, and we'll conduct the research after we return to the system space."
Lin Qian hung the jade pendant on her waist and continued cleaning the scene until she was sure there was nothing left behind, before turning around and walking towards the edge of the world.
Following 003's instructions, there was an ancient teleportation array at the edge of the world that could send her back to the system space. Lin Qian, weary from her journey, finally arrived at the teleportation array.
The teleportation array was made of dozens of huge bluestone slabs, covered with mysterious runes, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura. At the center of the array was a bottomless black vortex, seemingly leading to another dimension.
Lin Qian took a deep breath and, without the slightest hesitation, stepped into the teleportation array.
The instant her toes touched the array, a powerful suction force pulled her into the black vortex. Lin Qian felt everything go black, the world spin, and she heard a series of ghostly howls that seemed to come from the deepest hell, sending chills down her spine.
She didn't know how much time had passed, but when Lin Qian regained consciousness, she found herself in a vast, white space.
"Welcome back, Lin Qian." 003's familiar voice rang out, "Congratulations on successfully completing the mission. The mission reward has been issued; you can check it."
Lin Qian rubbed her throbbing temples, looked around, and frowned, saying, "Where am I? Something feels off."
"This is the system space, you wouldn't happen to be..." 003's voice suddenly stopped, as if realizing something, and her tone became flustered, "Lin Qian, how are you? Are you alright?"
"I..." Lin Qian was about to speak when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest, her vision went black, and she lost consciousness again.
When she woke up again, she found herself lying on an antique-style bed. The room was filled with sandalwood incense and decorated in a simple and elegant style, yet it exuded a suffocating sense of oppression.
"Miss, you're awake?" A maid in green came in carrying a bowl of medicine. Seeing Lin Qian awake, her face lit up with joy. "You're finally awake! I'll go tell Master and Madam right away and let them be happy."
Lin Qian looked at everything before her, her heart filled with doubt.
"Where am I? Shouldn't I be back in the system space?" Lin Qian wondered to herself, cautiously looking around.
"Miss, please don't move around, be careful not to aggravate your wound." The maid in green quickly stepped forward to stop her when she saw her struggling to sit up.
"A wound?" Lin Qian raised an eyebrow. Was the original owner of this body a sickly person? "What happened to me?"
"Miss, you've been unconscious ever since you fell into the water. The doctors all say you're incredibly lucky to have survived." The maid in green said as she carefully helped her sit up, thoughtfully placing a soft pillow behind her back.
"Fell into the water?" Lin Qian sneered inwardly. She clearly came from the teleportation array, so how could she have fallen into the water? That unreliable guy 003 must have sent her to some strange place this time.
Seeing that Lin Qian didn't speak after waking up and just stared coldly at her surroundings, the maid in green assumed that she hadn't recovered yet, so she gently comforted her, "Miss, don't be afraid, this is your boudoir. You have been unconscious for three days."
"My boudoir?" Lin Qian was even more puzzled. She looked around and saw that the room was furnished in an antique style with carved beams and painted rafters, which was indeed like the boudoir of a wealthy family in ancient times.
Seeing Lin Qian's furrowed brows, the maid in green assumed she was still worried about her unconsciousness and quickly said, "Miss, do you remember when you fell into the water?"
"Fell into the water?" Lin Qian was even more confused. She tried hard to recall, but found her mind blank. Apart from 003 and completing the mission, she couldn't remember anything else.
"Yes, you went to the lotus viewing banquet three days ago and accidentally fell into the water. Fortunately, you were rescued by Prince Ning who happened to be passing by, and that's how you survived." The maid in green said, her face showing a look of lingering fear.
"Prince Ning?" Lin Qian's heart skipped a beat. This name seemed to have touched a fragment of memory deep in her mind, but she couldn't remember what it was.
"Yes, His Highness Prince Ning is the most favored prince of the current emperor. He is not only accomplished in both literature and martial arts, but also has a handsome appearance. He is the ideal husband in the hearts of countless young girls." The maid in green blushed as she spoke, clearly admiring Prince Ning.
Lin Qian ignored the maid's girlish sentiments; her mind was filled with questions. Who was she? Why was she here? Where had 003 gone?
Lin Qian didn't speak, but stared coldly at her, making the maid in green feel uneasy, and she quickly lowered her head.
"Miss, please drink your medicine first. This was specially ordered by the madam to be brewed in the kitchen, as she said it's the most nourishing medicine." The maid in green picked up the bowl of medicine, scooped out a spoonful, gently blew on it to cool it, and then brought it to Lin Qian's lips.
A bitter smell wafted towards her, and she frowned slightly, instinctively wanting to refuse, but then suddenly remembered something and asked, "What did you say my name was?"
"Your name is Lin Qian, the eldest daughter of the current prime minister," the maid in green replied.
Upon hearing this, Lin Qian's heart was filled with a thousand waves of emotions. The Prime Minister's legitimate daughter? The original owner of this body was actually the daughter of the current Prime Minister?
