Chapter 9 My PhD Son is an Ignorant Wolf

"Girl, what do you mean by this?" Lin Yi looked at the men who suddenly surrounded him in surprise. Robbery in public on the train? That can't be so exaggerated, right?

Cai Genbao next to him was snapping his fingers, rubbing his hands together and ready to go at any time.

"Comrade, don't be afraid, these are all my comrades." The girl explained quickly.

"Comrade? Are you still going to buy these things?" Lin Yi quickly glanced at the men again. They had straight backs, clear features, and really looked like soldiers.

"Yes, I asked them to come over, firstly to check the quality, and secondly to help carry it." The girl probably felt that the situation was a bit awkward, and smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, so that's it. It is indeed necessary. Look, they are all here, a bag of hazel mushrooms, a bag of wood ears, a bag of hazelnuts and a bag of pine nuts."

Lin Yi opened the sack a little more to allow the others to take a closer look. "We weighed it when we came out. We just told you the weight and price. It's just that we don't have a scale right now, so it's hard to verify the weight."

"It doesn't matter. My comrades are good at it. It's okay if it's roughly the same." Then he turned back to one of the young men and said, "Bring out a few bags."

Lin Yidu was planning to give them a few sacks, but these people took out a bunch of thick army green canvas bags, which were no smaller than his sacks.

"Comrade, I need to empty the bags to free them up for you and take a look at their quality." Seeing Lin Yi nod, the girl started asking people to empty the bags.

The passengers on the train were anxious to get off, crowding together at both ends of the car, but few paid much attention to their actions. Yongqiang, who was at the end of the car, was caught in the crowd and had no idea what was happening.

The people here quickly emptied the bags. The girl in the lead seemed very satisfied with the quality of these mountain products. She happily counted out three big unity coins and handed them to Lin Yi.

As soon as the train stopped, several people carried their luggage and cooperated with each other to get out of the train through the window. It seemed that in the blink of an eye, they disappeared at the end of the platform.

"Are all you soldiers like this...um...?" Lin Yi was amazed and turned around to ask Cai Genbao with a question that was difficult to put into words.

Cai Genbao was also shocked: "The money is not fake, right?"

The two of them carried simple luggage and a bundle of sacks to meet up with Yongqiang.

At this time, people on the bus had already started to get off one after another.

Yongqiang finally had space to move the things on the luggage rack above his head, but the things were too heavy and he was too thin to move them at all.

He looked back frequently, looking across the crowd towards his father and uncle, and finally saw the two men coming over, but with empty hands.

My uncle was holding a roll of sack in his hand.

"Where are our things?" Yongqiang widened his eyes.

"Your father sold it." His uncle answered him.

Yongqiang: (⊙x⊙;)

After leaving the train station and getting on the bus, Yongqiang finally remembered to ask after the bus had gone several stops: "How did you sell it? When did you sell it? Who did you sell it to?"

He whispered stealthily into Lin Yi's ear: "Dad, did you make any money? How much did you make?"

Lin Yi smiled mysteriously at him and extended a slap.

"Fifty!" Yongqiang opened his mouth wide. He had earned fifty before even getting off the train. This was too easy.

Lin Yi turned his palm over in front of his eyes.

Yongqiang understood immediately, but he pursed his lips tightly and said nothing. Only his eyes showed his excitement.

The train tickets for the three of them cost only more than 30 yuan. In the blink of an eye, they had earned enough money for the round-trip tickets and accommodation.

Yongqiang felt as if a new world had been opened to him. He peered out the car window at the streets of Beijing and saw people hurrying to and fro, their clothes more colorful than those of the people back home. Their faces were filled with smiles of happiness that radiated from within.

Just like his mood at the moment.

Logically speaking, it was the first time for all three of them to come to Beijing. Cai Genbao was a little confused as to why his eldest brother-in-law seemed to know everywhere. He almost didn't ask for directions and just took them by bus to a guesthouse near the Beijing Zoo.

Moreover, along the way, he was able to strike up a conversation with the ticket seller, the driver, the elderly, the receptionist at the guesthouse, and even the elementary school students with backpacks on their backs. The topics were extremely wide-ranging and there was never a dull moment. He was more knowledgeable about the outside world than even someone like him who had been a soldier for more than ten years.

This completely overturned his previous understanding of his brother-in-law.

Cai Genbao didn’t know that there was a popular term in later generations called “social awesomeness”. If he knew, he would understand how to define Zhao Xianshui in front of him at this moment.

In the following days, when Lin Yi took them to the zoo gate to sell the remaining dates in the sack at a high price, he took them for a walk inside the zoo.

After coming out of the zoo, I took them on a winding walk for a few minutes and finally arrived at an open-air clothing wholesale market.

Cai Genbao swore that he had never seen so many different kinds of clothes before. He didn't even know where to start, he was completely overwhelmed.

Regarding what styles of goods to import, Lin Yi initially consulted the nephew and uncle for their opinions, but later he simply stopped asking.

He had nearly 1,000 yuan in his hand and bought 40 pairs of slightly flared jeans at the newly emerging Zoo Clothing Wholesale Market.

Afterwards, he spent another 150 yuan to buy 30 sailor shirts, which Yongqiang carried on his back.

In the end, there was more than 90 yuan left, which was used for the return fare, and the rest was used to buy a set of clothes for each of the three people.

The three of them only stayed in Beijing for one night before they boarded the train back to the city, carrying two packages of goods.

They had already planned to sell these clothes to several large factories and university gates in the city.

Lin Yi assured them: "It will be sold soon. I will have to make a few more trips then."

The uncle and nephew believed him without a doubt and followed him wherever he said to go.

Perhaps, selling rat poison is not entirely useless. Perhaps, my brother-in-law (father) has accumulated experience from selling rat poison over the years?

The train arrived in the city early in the morning. Lin Yi took his nephew and uncle and carried the goods directly to the commercial street behind the H University.

This street has only been developed in the past two years. It relies on two nearby universities, three factories, and several scattered family quarters. It sells everything from morning markets to night markets. Later, it even developed into a popular check-in spot in the city.

When Lin Yi and his friends arrived, the morning market on the street had already opened. The trio didn't get a good spot, so they set up their stall in a shady corner.

Leaving his nephew and uncle to look after the stall, Lin Yi walked around the morning market with his hands behind his back.

There were fewer people here and the stalls were quite simple. Cai Genbao and Zhao Yongqiang's stalls had not been opened for half an hour.

Lin Yi returned to the stall with two pancakes and a few clothes hangers. He saw that the two men were a little listless, not knowing how to shout or sell. They just stood there with their hands in their pockets, staring intently at passersby. They didn't look like good people...

Lin Yi sighed: I still have to do it myself!
