Chapter 51 Huaihua Machinery Factory 9

Chapter 51 Huaihua Machinery Factory 9

"Secretary Li, I'll take Xiaoxing back first. Sorry to trouble you." Cheng Yan's tone was extremely cold. When Li Zhenguo came to his senses, the two of them had already stretched out in the dim light.

Li Zhenguo scratched his head and muttered to himself, "Was Cheng Yan like this before? Why is his temper getting more and more weird?"

Xingjian was not as frightened as Cheng Yan had imagined. Instead, he chattered like a cheerful little sparrow about what had happened today. Cheng Yan nodded from time to time to show that he already knew, and his big hands quietly wrapped Xingjian's small hands in his palms.

Feeling his hand being grabbed by the person next to him, Xing Jian was stunned at first. He looked up at Cheng Yan's face. In the dim light in the corridor, Xing Jian could not see Cheng Yan's face clearly. He could only feel the warmth coming from the palm of his hand.

"Brother Cheng..." Xing Jian's voice was so soft that only two people could hear it. A strange throbbing exploded along his blood vessels. He didn't know why his heart was beating so fast. Could it be that the original owner had a heart disease?

Cheng Yan thought Xing Jian would continue to speak, but he didn't hear Xing Jian's next words, "Hmm?"

"Brother Cheng, I feel like I'm sick." Xing Jian said, then pulled out the hand that Cheng Yan was holding, took out the key from his pocket and opened the dormitory door.

But as soon as he entered the door, Cheng Yan's big hand touched his forehead again. His forehead was still cold and there was no sign of fever.

Cheng Yan frowned slightly, wondering: Could it be that he was scared again this time? Cheng Yan frowned, thinking that the little guy in front of him was too timid. If he knew something in the future, what should he do?

Xing Jian tilted his head in confusion, and suddenly heard Cheng Yan say, "Don't wash clothes from now on. Put your clothes in the basin and wait for me to come back and wash them."

Cheng Yan's sudden words made Xing Jian a little confused. Why were they suddenly talking about clothes again? Was he dissatisfied with the clothes he washed?

As autumn approached, the water in the faucet became colder and colder. Many times, Xingjian's hands were frozen red after washing, like boiled shrimps.

Cheng Yan didn't say anything more and started packing up his bathing supplies. Xing Jian also hurried to pack up and followed Cheng Yan to the bathhouse.

The notice of transfer was issued a week later. The people in the warehouse looked at the notice of Xingjian's transfer with envy in their eyes. If they had not had any education, who would be willing to work as a laborer in the warehouse, moving goods day after day?

Knowing that Xingjian was going to the workshop, Feng Dajun clamored to treat everyone to a meal to see Xingjian off. However, before the date of the meal was set, a strange thing happened in the dormitory.

As autumn approaches, there are obviously fewer people going to the bathhouse to take a bath. Only a few people with obsessive-compulsive disorder still insist on taking a bath every day.

That day, the workshop had been working overtime until after nine o'clock in the evening because of rushing to finish the work. After returning to the dormitory, Lin Zhenguo looked at the time and started packing up to take a shower, otherwise the bathhouse would be closed soon. He asked around with his roommates but no one wanted to go with him. Even Brother Cheng from the dormitory next door didn't plan to take a shower today. He had to go to the bathhouse alone with a basin.

When he went there, there were still many people on the road. But when Lin Zhenguo came back, there was no one on the road. It was terribly quiet. Walking under the eerie big locust tree, Lin Zhenguo suddenly thought of what his country grandmother had told him: locust trees are yin and are most likely to attract ghosts.

The more scared Lin Zhenguo was, the more his grandmother's words lingered in his mind. Lin Zhenguo almost ran wildly, but was tripped by something and fell to the ground. In the moonlight, he saw that the thing that had tripped him was none other than a pale hand bone, and the bony hand flew towards Lin Zhenguo.

Lin Zhenguo was dragged straight to the locust tree. Lin Zhenguo looked at the dense tree canopy above him. Countless scarlet eyes appeared from under the gloomy leaves and stared at him intently.

"Ah~" Lin Zhenguo thought he could scream out loudly, but he found that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make a sound and fainted.

It was already late at night when Lin Zhenguo's roommates discovered he was missing, and the entire dormitory building was quickly alarmed. A sleepy Xing Jian looked at Cheng Yan, who had just returned from outside, with half-closed eyes and asked, "Brother Cheng, what's wrong? Why is there suddenly such a noise outside?"

Cheng Yan glanced at his timid roommate with a calm expression and said simply, "Lin Zhenguo is missing. He has just been found. He probably fell on his head on the way back from taking a shower. He has just been sent to the hospital. Go to sleep."

As he spoke, he walked to Xingjian's bed and tucked in the corners of the quilt for Xingjian, then returned to his own bed.

What he didn't tell Xingjian was that Lin Zhenguo suddenly woke up on the way to the hospital and said that he had encountered a ghost and that the big locust tree was full of ghosts.

The group of people who sent Lin Zhenguo to the hospital were all frightened. The doctor gave Lin Zhenguo an injection of sedative. When he fell into a deep sleep, everyone in the ward looked at each other, and no one knew what to say.

The next morning, Xingjian went to work at the warehouse and heard people saying something like "ghost" and "scary". Xingjian went over to listen to what they were saying, but found that when they saw him coming, they all shut their mouths and avoided looking around.

Xing Jian was frustrated and didn't want to make himself look bad, so he curled his lips and walked quickly towards the warehouse. But before he reached the warehouse, Xing Jian met Li Weiguo head-on and was stopped by him.

"Xiaoxing, come here. Don't go to the warehouse. Follow me." Li Weiguo stood on the other side of the road and waved to Xingjian.

Although he was a little confused, Xing Jian still walked over and said, "What's wrong, Secretary Li? I have to go to work."

Hearing Xingjian talking about going to work, Li Weiguo put his arm around Xingjian's shoulders and led him towards the workshop. "Don't go to the warehouse. I just told Ma Xiangqian there that you should go to the workshop to work from today."

"Didn't you say we would go next week?" Xingjian asked as they walked.

"Don't ask so many questions. Just go quickly. The workshop is short of staff recently and we can't finish producing all the mechanical parts." Li Weiguo subconsciously concealed the truth from Xingjian and took Xingjian directly to the third workshop.

Xingjian, who had never been to a workshop before, was very curious about everything in front of him. This place was different from the empty warehouse. People came and went in the workshop, and everyone was working diligently at their job.

Xingjian stood there, feeling a little at a loss for a moment, and felt a little out of place in the bustling workshop in front of him.

Suddenly, the sound of Li Weiguo talking to someone was getting closer and closer. Xingjian turned around and saw a familiar figure walking towards him.
