Chi Yuan's breath hitched, and his throat tightened slightly.
The piercing gaze, like that of a venomous snake, made Shen Yulou, even in her sleep, frown and turn her head to try to break free from Chi Yuan's touch.
Feeling the persistent heat on her chin, Shen Yulou's curled eyelashes began to flutter like butterfly wings.
He opened his eyes right under Chi Yuan's nose.
Her eyes, still slightly dazed from just waking up, began to show signs of panic as Chi Yuan's face was fully reflected in her pupils.
He pushed Chi Yuan away, propped himself up, and quickly fell backward.
With the arm hanging around his neck gone, Chi Yuan was finally able to straighten up.
He casually put his hands behind his back.
"Has the Ghost King woken up?"
The thick bed canopy covered most of Chi Yuan's face, and Shen Yulou couldn't see his eyes at all.
Even familiar sounds become especially terrifying in the unknown silence.
"What does the Demon Lord want with me?"
The beauty swallowed nervously, then brushed the messy hair that had fallen across her chest behind her head.
Standing on the high ground, Chi Yuan had a panoramic view of everything.
"Nothing much, I just wanted to visit my cousin."
Upon hearing this, Shen Yulou visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Chi Yuan's next words made his heart jump again.
"However, my cousin seemed to be dreaming just now and said some nonsense. I don't know if it's true or not."

"I don't know... what I said?"
The beauty smiled ingratiatingly, cautiously probing Chi Yuan.
