Chapter 141 The Little Fox

Xu Shaojun chuckled softly and walked over. "Has Jiu'er forgiven me?"

Luo Jiu smiled at him, her appearance exuding charm.

However, before Xu Shaojun could savor the moment, he saw her slowly approach, stepping down hard with a pair of high heels that were a few centimeters high.

Xu Shaojun's smile gradually faded, and he let out a soft gasp.

Seeing this, Luo Jiu's mood inexplicably improved.

"Now you've forgiven her."

After saying that, he walked towards the colorful hot air balloon.

Xu Shaojun had rented the hot air balloon from a German businessman. When Luo Jiu went over, she saw a foreigner with a large beard covering half his face looking at them from inside the basket.

Thinking that someone had seen what had just happened, Luo Jiu felt inexplicably embarrassed and shy.

There's nothing I can do; I don't have the thick skin of some people.

"Hello."

"You must be Miss Luo. You are so beautiful." The bearded man spoke in broken Chinese, giving her a friendly smile.

Xu Shaojun caught up and interrupted their conversation.

“Fred.”

“Yes, sir.” Fred nimbly jumped out of the basket, and after the two were seated, he began to pull nails out of the sand.

The sound of burning fuel emanated from above, and only the two of them remained in this small space.

The balloon slowly began to rise into the air, and the beach gradually became smaller and smaller in Luo Jiu's view.

Luo Jiu leaned over the edge of the basket, reaching out to touch the seagull so close to her, letting the sea breeze freely caress her hair.

She slowly closed her eyes, enjoying the wonderful experience of being inhabited by nature and becoming one with it.

Just then, a pair of warm and large hands slowly caressed Luo Jiu's slender waist.

Luo Jiu opened her eyes, and a silver necklace appeared before her, with a lifelike little fox hanging from it.

Luo Jiu was a little confused. Yesterday he was a man with negative emotional intelligence, how did he transform into a Casanova today?

She reached out and took Xu Shaojun's necklace. The little fox was truly exquisite and adorable. But why a fox?

"Hmm... a fox?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Shaojun smiled faintly and slowly rested his head on his shoulder.

"Isn't Jiu'er a little fox? Otherwise... why would she have captured my heart the first time we met? Hmm?"

Xu Shaojun's words reached Luo Jiu's ears, sending shivers down her spine.

Can't this man speak properly? Just speak, what's with that extra syllable at the end?

But when she recalled being forced to drink alcohol in the beginning, a suspicious blush slowly rose on Luo Jiu's face.

This hurdle is insurmountable, isn't it?

"What you're saying isn't right," Luo Jiu said gently. "You were the one who seduced me in the first place." You male vixen.

Xu Shaojun laughed. "How did I seduce you?"

"Is that so?" Xu Shaojun blinked his eyes as if they were sparkling.

"Like this?" Xu Shaojun reached out and pulled Luo Jiu into a tight embrace.

"Still like this?" He took a sip of the red wine on the table and made a gesture as if to feed Luo Jiu mouth-to-mouth.

Luo Jiu hurriedly covered her face and pushed him away in a panic, saying, "Oh, I'm so hungry!"

"I haven't eaten much this morning, do you have anything to eat here?"

Xu Shaojun glanced at his empty arms, then at Luo Jiu who was quickly changing the subject, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.

Xu Shaojun seemed to be there for a picnic, well-prepared, with a basket filled with all sorts of food, just in case Luo Jiu suddenly decided to have a whim.

Luo Jiu poured the contents out and placed them on the table.

Suddenly, she spotted a familiar package—it was from the old lady's pastry shop. Luo Jiu didn't think much of it and opened it.

"Huh... Grandma's cooking skills have declined."

Upon hearing this, Xu Shaojun walked over. His dark eyes were fixed on Luo Jiu. "What's wrong? Doesn't it taste good?"

"No, it's not that. It's just a bit ugly. Grandma's taste isn't very good." Luo Jiu took a bite without caring. "The little fox is so cute, it doesn't look like one at all."

Xu Shaojun didn't say anything, only a symbolic smile appeared on his lips.

The air suddenly became quiet, with only the sound of a gentle breeze and the burning fuel remaining.

Luo Jiu sensed something was off, stopped talking, and looked at Xu Shaojun. She met the man's inscrutable gaze.

Thinking back to the fox necklace I'd just seen, a bold idea suddenly popped into my head.

"This...you didn't do this, did you?"

Xu Shaojun's smile deepened, but it gave Luo Jiu a terrifying feeling.

He slowly lowered his head and took a bite of the remaining half of Luo Jiu's fox cake. His eyes looked at her with a half-smile.

He made such ambiguous gestures, yet his demeanor was so refined.

Xu Shaojun chewed the cake in his mouth gently, but every second made Luo Jiu feel so uncomfortable.

"Really? I think it looks quite similar."

"Hehe. It does look quite similar." Luo Jiu casually looked away, giving a perfunctory reply.

"It does resemble you quite a bit," Xu Shaojun said with a smile, his tone serious.

This is the nth time Xu Shaojun has said he's like a fox.

Luo Jiu glared at him, raising an eyebrow. She grabbed a piece of cake and stuffed it into Xu Shaojun's mouth.

"So much stuff can't shut you up!"

However, the blush on her face betrayed her.

Like an innocent young girl, she blushed at a man's few words. Where was the charm of Shanghai's first courtesan?

As the hot air balloon rose into the air, looking down at the earth, all that could be seen was the azure sea and a few scattered black dots.

Do you like it here?

"Hmm," Luo Jiu replied calmly.

I like it too.

I love any place where you are; I love that when I look up, you are right there in my sight; I love that you belong only to me.

Xu Shaojun looked at the little figure in front of him, a hint of stubbornness flashing in his eyes, which was well hidden in his eye sockets.

...

It was nearly evening when the hot air balloon landed.

The moonlight, like water, spilled onto the sea, shrouding it in a veil of mystery.

The tide rises and falls, waves surging one after another towards the shore. Some crash ashore, bringing secrets from the sea; others smash against the rocks on the shore, splashing up sprays several meters high.

Luo Jiu walked barefoot on the soft sand, the sea breeze carrying a salty scent and blowing her long, flowing hair.

"Xu Shaojun, hurry up, I want to eat a big crab!"

She frowned and shouted to the person behind her. Her impatient manner made Xu Shaojun smile involuntarily. He quickened his pace and walked towards her.

There were a few fishermen's stalls set up on the beach. They were made of awnings and located in the backyards of their homes.

This was Xu Shaojun's first time in a place like this. A small table, a barbecue grill, and a few bottles of liquor—it was a bargain, but it also reflected the simple life of fishermen.

Luo Jiu had already finished talking with the owner next to her and brought over several plates of grilled seafood.

"Here, have a taste."
