A painted boat was moored at the ferry dock on the shore. The boat had two levels and was decorated with red and yellow paint. Lanterns hung around the corners of the boat and spun in the wind.
Upon closer inspection, one discovers that the paintings on the lamps are remarkably lifelike. There are scholars discussing poetry, women covering their faces, children playing, and birds and beasts running about—a truly lively scene.
"This isn't just a miracle doctor, he must be the richest man in the area. This pleasure boat is so magnificent and stylish, even I'm not that rich," Luo Jiu murmured.
"Young master, you jest. You are certainly richer. It's just not in your hands." With that, Yueying covered her face and laughed.
I've noticed a big change in Luo Jiu's personality these past few days. She's become approachable and easy to talk to, and we can even joke around with her.
"You dare to mock me, Moon Shadow!" Luo Jiu said, picking up his fan as if to hit her.
After some playful banter, the two arrived at the entrance. Seeing two servants guarding the passage, Yueying asked in confusion, "Young master, there are guards here. Can we still go in?"
"Let's go give it a try."
Having said that, he straightened his clothes, opened the folding fan he carried with him, and walked forward, fanning himself with the fan.
The servants of both families believed that the person in question was a young master, handsome in appearance, and dressed simply and plainly, but the fabric was a rare brocade. Even the maids following behind him were dressed in extraordinary attire.
The two men exchanged a glance but did not object. Instead, they gestured for the servants to enter. The young master had previously instructed that anyone with literary talent was welcome to enter the pleasure boat to converse. In the eyes of the two servants, this "learned person" was roughly equivalent to someone dressed in fine clothes.
"You just came in like that?" Yueying turned around and looked back in confusion.
"Of course, who do you think your young master is?" Luo Jiu shook her fan and found the best spot to watch the opera and sat down.
The ship was mostly filled with men, who stood in small groups, exchanging compliments and jokes. Luo Jiu had no interest in them and didn't know any of them.
In her eyes, all of them combined were not as tempting as the food at Zuixianju.
After watching the opera, we went back to Zuixianju for a meal and packed some pastries to take home. It was wonderful.
Suddenly, a man dressed as a page walked onto the stage, bowed to the front, and said:
"Greetings, gentlemen. Young Master Rongyu is still selecting works, so please enjoy the play 'The Locked Sachet' for now."
Upon hearing this, Luo Jiu immediately stopped snacking on melon seeds and sat up straight. Finally, she could see the opera; it was truly an unexpected bonus.
A short while later, someone went up on stage.
Luo Jiu watched with great interest and even had time to chat with 007.
-This opera is really good. Hey 007, could it be that you enjoy watching operas and that's why you deliberately issued hidden missions to abuse your power for personal gain?
Please don't think that way, Master. The existence of hidden quests is merely to advance the plot.
- Hmm? Okay, I think it's quite interesting. Why doesn't the male lead like it?
After the song "The Locked Sachet" ended, enthusiastic applause rang out, and a notification sound appeared in Luo Jiu's mind.
[Congratulations, Master! Mission complete. You have received a homework exemption card.]
Luo Jiu was satisfied and was about to walk out when she saw a man in a wheelchair being pushed forward.
The man wore a white robe embroidered with gold thread, exuding elegance and a touch of nobility. His long, ink-black hair was tied up with a jade crown, with the rest cascading loosely over his shoulders.
The man had a gentle and refined appearance, with a smile always on his lips. His every move exuded an inexplicable affability that made people want to get closer.
