Chapter 175 Being a Prince Consort Isn't Easy (20)

Ning Qing turned to the fat man and asked, "Are you still going to arrest me?"

The fat man turned to look at his followers who were clutching their bodies and groaning on the ground, and stiffly shook his head at Ning Qing.

Ning Qing smiled and said, "Alright, then take your bunch of shrimp soldiers and crab generals and leave this place."

The fat man glared at Ning Qing defiantly, but when he saw the coachman sitting to the side gently waving his whip at him, he shrank back and swallowed hard.

He chuckled and said, "Alright, I'll take my men and leave."

He turned around and yelled at the guards who were fighting fiercely, "Stop it, all of you, get out of here!"

After shouting, he led his men back the way they came.

Seeing that many guards were injured, Ning Qing took out a few silver notes and handed them to the uninjured guards, asking them to take the injured to the clinic for treatment. He then climbed back into the carriage and said to the coachman sitting on the carriage shaft, "Let's go to Xianwei Restaurant."

The coachman's voice came from outside, "Alright, Your Highness, sit tight."

Caiqing rushed over in a hurry, her round eyes darting around the young man. "Young Master, are you alright?"

Ning Qing patted her head lightly and chuckled, "What could possibly happen to me?"

The maid Caiqing stuck out her tongue and handed over a cup of steaming tea. "It's good that Your Highness is alright. I've already brewed the tea. Please enjoy it."

Ning Qing smiled and took the tea, sipped it, and thought to herself: This tea is much better than coffee. It's sweet on the palate and leaves a lingering fragrance in the throat.

After drinking a few cups of tea and eating a few pastries, they arrived at Xianweilou. Ning Qing, accompanied by her maid Caiqing, stepped into the building, asked for a private room, and ordered several signature dishes, most importantly, wine.

Ning Qing ran into an acquaintance on the stairs. Wu Chenxi, dressed in white men's clothing, had a tall and slender figure, a fair face with sharp features and a cold demeanor, and beautiful eyebrows and eyes.

Their eyes met, and Ning Qing smiled, "What a coincidence to meet you here. How about we have a drink together?"

Wu Chenxi swallowed her refusal when she saw Ning Qing's smiling face and cheerful demeanor, and nodded, "Mm."

The two arrived at the side room, where Ning Qing sat down next to Wu Chenxi and poured him a cup of tea.

Wu Chenxi reached out to take it, but Ning Qing deliberately brushed his jade-like fingers lightly like a feather. Wu Chenxi felt a ticklish sensation on his fingers, and suddenly withdrew his hand, his bright eyes widening in disbelief.

She had been harassed and flirted with by a man...

Ning Qing placed the teacup on the table in front of him, leaned over and whispered in his ear, "Wife, have some tea."

Wu Chenxi suddenly stood up and changed to a seat further away from Ning Qing.

Ning Qing glanced at Wu Chenxi sitting opposite him, lowered his head slightly, revealing a hurt expression on his face, and murmured softly, "Does my wife avoid me like a beast?"

Wu Chenxi stiffened, hesitating to speak.

Ning Qing composed herself, slightly raised her eyes to look at the person opposite her, her eyes reddened, a crystal-clear tear hanging on her eyelash, about to fall, making her look extremely pitiful.

Seeing this, Wu Chenxi softened a bit and hesitated before saying, "I..."

"How about I send you some more beautiful concubines?"

With a wounded expression, Ning Qing growled at the person opposite her, "How can they replace you? You are my lawfully wedded wife, brought back in a grand sedan chair. We made a hundred-year covenant with the heavens, how dare you go back on your word?"

Looking at the person who had lost control and was yelling at her, Wu Chenxi felt a strange sense of guilt, as if she had let the person down. But...
