3-5: Little Beauty Online Fishing

[Reading tips: This is normal teacher behavior; there is no romantic relationship between teacher and students; all main characters are adults with independent personalities.]

Huaiyan lay obediently on the bed, her gaze following the man's movements.

"T-Teacher," Huai Yan said in a hoarse voice, her eyes reddening.

The boy, his face pale, struggled to get up.

"Lie down."

Bai Wenzhou stepped forward, grasped the boy's shoulder, and pressed him back down.

The man's voice was cold and deep, and his face was usually expressionless.

His brows were furrowed, and his aura was heavy.

"Is anything bothering you?" The man's voice was cool, yet filled with concern. "Hmm?"

Just as Huaiyan was about to answer, he suddenly felt his throat go dry and coughed a few times.

Perhaps as a side effect of being doused with three buckets of ice water, Huaiyan felt dizzy and coughed even more violently.

Spring water is already cold; after pouring three buckets of water, even if nothing serious happens, something is bound to happen.

"I...I'm fine." The boy breathed softly, his voice hoarse. "...Thank you, teacher."

If it weren't for Bai Wenzhou finding him at the crucial moment...

It seems the mission in this dimension will end before it even begins.

Looking at the boy's pale face and his hoarse voice, which he still tried to sound strong.

Bai Wenzhou felt as if his heart had been suddenly gripped, making it hard to breathe.

He looked at the boy's pale, dry lips and his eyes, which were glistening with moisture and red at the corners.

"Hmm." Bai Wenzhou's voice was low and unreadable.

But his less-than-pleasant complexion betrayed the man's emotions.

Then the man stopped talking.

He turned and left the room, then returned a few seconds later with the tray.

Bai Wenzhou sat down on the edge of the bed, holding a thermometer in his hand.

The man asked again, "Is anything bothering you?"

He could, of course, see through the boy's feigned strength.

But Huai Yan's defeated expression and lips had already betrayed her.

"I...I'm fine, teacher."

Huaiyan raised her neck, lay on the bed, and just looked at the man.

Look at Bai Wenzhou's superior profile and his cold, stern face.

For some reason, a sour feeling rose in the boy's nose again.

The sourness shot straight to my heart, like a lemon being crushed and squeezed into juice, only to be completely spilled.

"Why are you crying?"

The man paused almost imperceptibly, his voice softening.

He put down the thermometer in his hand, gently touched the boy's cheek, and wiped away the tear that was about to slide down.

It's like finally finding someone to rely on, and a suitable outlet for venting.

Huaiyan could no longer hold back and her body began to tremble.

Low sobs could be heard coming from inside the room.

The boy grasped the man's wrist and forearm as if he were grasping at a straw.

"Teacher, teacher..." The once obedient boy cried out helplessly, "I, I'm so scared..."

Fearing being locked in a cubicle and having several buckets of cold water poured over him, he lost consciousness.

Fearing school bullying, feeling isolated and helpless.

Fearing that they might follow in the footsteps of the original owner and fail to give the other person a good ending.

Bai Wenzhou remained silent, his brows furrowed, as he gently wiped away the boy's tears.

Perhaps because he cried so hard, the boy's tears were still warm, burning hot to the touch, as if he had suffered a great injustice.

"...Don't be afraid." The man lowered his head and pulled the fragile, petite boy into his arms.

He said softly, "The teacher will help you find those people."

It seemed like a solemn promise.

A chilling glint flashed in the man's lowered eyes, a stark contrast to his gentle tone.

However, the boy knew nothing about it.

Huaiyan only knew that she had received a seemingly reassuring promise and a temporarily strong and broad embrace.

The boy clung tightly to the man's waist, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Teacher...Teacher Bai..."

The boy cried out repeatedly, as if a cub had found its home and something to rely on.

He choked out, "Did I...did I do something wrong?"

A well-behaved child who is obedient and well-behaved at school, but also seems aloof and doesn't interact with others.

Faced with such intense malice, they were naturally quite frightened.

"I'm so...so cold."

"...Teacher Bai, I'm scared..."

The boy instantly gripped Bai Wenzhou's trench coat tightly.

He buried his head in the man's arms, his eyes red and swollen from crying, his voice distorted.

Bai Wenzhou remained silent upon hearing this.

She held the boy even tighter, her hands gently stroking his thin back.

Often, what Bai Wenzhou excels at most is silence and action.

At this moment, words of comfort would seem utterly inadequate and would be of little use.

He silently embraced the petite boy in his arms.

Are you hungry?

Bai Wenzhou cupped the boy's tear-reddened face, gently ruffled his soft, fluffy hair, and asked in a calm voice, "Would you like something to eat?"

Exhausted from crying, Huaiyan unexpectedly met the man's gaze.

Huaiyan suddenly stopped sobbing and nodded blankly.

Actually, upon arriving here, I saw Bai Wenzhou's deep, calm eyes, as still as a lake.

Huaiyan had already stopped believing Gao Jia's words.

Bai Wenzhou was a bit silent, although his expression was always stern and his voice was cold and deep.

Huaiyan, however, did not think that Bai Wenzhou was as cold and unapproachable as the rumors suggested.

The man not only didn't scold him until he cried, but also gently wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes.

If it weren't for Bai Wenzhou, he would probably still be soaking in the icy water.

"Hungry, hungry," the boy whispered, his voice still hoarse.

Bai Wenzhou then let go of his hand, picked up the thermometer from the bedside table, and said in a deep voice, "Let's take your temperature first."

When Bai Wenzhou pulled the boy into his arms, he felt the boy's burning body temperature and skin.

When he brought Huaiyan home, Bai Wenzhou was in a state of confusion and only focused on giving Huaiyan a hot bath and changing her clothes.

Then he sat on the edge of the bed with a gloomy expression, staring at the boy for an unknown amount of time.

The man thought about many things, yet it was as if he thought about nothing at all.

This is the height of mental turmoil.

Not long after, the academic affairs office called to say that they had found the person by checking the surveillance footage. Bai Wenzhou then rushed out again and went to the school.

When he got back, he was busy making porridge and searching for medicine in his apartment. During that time, he received countless phone calls and forgot about them in the process.

But normally, this wouldn't disrupt Bai Wenzhou's rhythm.

When things were put on Huaiyan's shoulders, everything went into chaos.

"T-Teacher," the boy said timidly, his voice barely audible, "How about I take my medicine first?"

Bai Wenzhou lowered his head, his voice calm but brooking no refusal: "Let's take your temperature first."

The boy obediently responded.

Blinking his slightly red and swollen eyes, the boy, without thinking, tore open the black T-shirt on his shoulder.

His rounded, smooth shoulders were suddenly exposed to the air, along with the boy's beautiful collarbones.

"Teacher Bai," Huaiyan looked at the man with a rather innocent expression and whispered, "Is...is that so?"

Bai Wenzhou's fingertips paused for a moment, but only for a fleeting instant.

The man quickly returned to normal.

He naturally grasped the boy's fair shoulder and placed the thermometer inside.

Now it was Huaiyan's turn to catch her breath.

When Bai Wenzhou's hand grasped the rounded shoulder, he immediately felt the warmth of the man's palm.

Ke Bai asked Zhou clearly without any other meaning; it was just the most ordinary thing: a teacher showing concern for a student.

Huaiyan felt that she was probably influenced by the original owner's mindset.

Having only spent a short time together, the source of this feeling might be the lingering emotions within the original owner's heart.

"Get dressed," Bai Wenzhou said softly, his Adam's apple bobbing.

The oversized black T-shirt slipped down to the boy's elbows, where it was then pulled up by the man.

Soft fabric was draped over the boy's shoulders again.

"Ah..." Huaiyan was startled, her almond-shaped eyes widened, and the tips of her ears turned red. "...Okay, okay."

When facing men, Huaiyan would unconsciously become nervous, and even stutter when she spoke.

Bai Wenzhou's eyes were dark as he stared at him intently, and he responded softly, "Mm."

Huaiyan was feeling uneasy again, almost moving in sync with his hands and feet.

Bai Wenzhou's voice was very magnetic, even though it was soft.

But it was like whispering intimately in his ear.

This caused Huaiyan's body to feel numb, as if she had been electrocuted, and her heart to race.

Before he could think much about it, a bowl of lean meat porridge appeared in front of Huaiyan.

The porridge smelled wonderful, as if it had just been cooked and served immediately, with bits of meat floating on top.

Huai Yan's stomach growled a few times, and she looked at Bai Wenzhou with a flushed face.

Suddenly, Huaiyan shuddered and almost lost track of what year it was.

For a moment, he seemed to see Fu Tingyu through Bai Wenzhou.

Because the man's movements as he prepared to feed the porridge were all too familiar.

Huaiyan composed herself and carefully tried to take the bowl of porridge from Bai Wenzhou's hands.

The boy said softly, "T-Teacher, I can do it myself."

Bai Wenzhou paused slightly as he was about to raise his hand.

However, he didn't insist. He quietly watched the boy put spoonfuls of porridge into his mouth.

Only when the spoon was put back into the bowl and a crisp clinking sound was heard did Bai Wenzhou turn his gaze away with satisfaction.

Fortunately, the Huai inkstone wasn't burned too badly, just close to 38 degrees Celsius.

"I've already asked for leave for you," Bai Wenzhou said calmly, without any inflection. "Rest first, and go home when you're better."

Huaiyan sat on the edge of the bed and nodded obediently.

It must be said that Bai Wenzhou was indeed methodical and took care of all the little things.

But 073 had a bad feeling.

"Don't you think..."

After Bai Wenzhou left, 073 asked Huaiyan uneasily, "Has Bai Wenzhou gone too far as to act beyond the scope of a subject teacher?"

The boy froze as he prepared to lie down, seemingly realizing the problem.

“No matter what, Bai Wenzhou is just a subject teacher,” 073 continued. “However, the situation was urgent at the time, so it’s understandable…”

At that time, Bai Wenzhou was the first to find Huaiyan, so naturally he chose the optimal solution.

"But...but..."

The boy, trembling with pain, blinked and whispered, "If it weren't for Bai Wenzhou, I would be dead."

Saying it's death is a bit of an exaggeration, but it really is true.

If it weren't for Bai Wenzhou, there would be cannon fodder like the original owner.

I'm afraid no one will care or concern; the final outcome will simply be death from school bullying.

Bai Wenzhou is too considerate and gentle in his actions.

No wonder the original owner relied on men as her source of inspiration.

073 breathed a long sigh of relief, realizing that Huaiyan's words made sense.

For Huaiyan's fever to subside, he would need to stay at Bai Wenzhou's house for at least one night.

That's good, at least I don't have to go back home.

The boy was all alone at home.
