Without further instructions, all mechs returned to the ship.
The hatch opened, and Di Xiu set up the return procedure. Turning around, he saw Mark holding the seemingly fragile emerald egg, his face, like the others behind him, filled with a dreamlike daze.
Wood strode up to Di Xiu, patted him on the shoulder, his cheek muscles twitching wildly, his facial contours shaking into waves. He was happy, but didn't want to let his emotions show and appear unsteady.
"It must have been you, kid. What did you do to make the Zerg hand over the Queen so obediently?" He took a deep breath but couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Really, if anyone had dared to tell me before that the Zerg could betray the Queen, I would have slapped them awake."
Suddenly, a loud slap rang out. An elite soldier touched his swollen face and said in a daze, "It's not a dream. It hurts."
A group of fools, each having confirmed that it wasn't a dream, descended into ecstatic madness.
"Marshal." Mark's eyes shone brightly as he wiped the queen eggs clean on his clothes and handed them to Di Xiu, his hands trembling.
