Chapter 161 The Green Hat Hero in the Apocalypse (1)

A transit station, in a hotel room.

Di Xiu frowned slightly, his expression cold as he grabbed 001 by the collar as he tried to throw himself onto the cloud bed, and asked him, "How much merit do you have left?"

001 tucked his hands and feet in and chuckled, "With you earning me merit, that's more than enough."

"How much did you use in the last world?"

"You mean creating anomalies? Just a tiny bit."

"You don't have the ability to project directly into the world."

001 lowered her hands and feet, puffed out her cheeks, and whispered, "I've already used it, so buying it makes me happy and it's a good deal."

Emperor Xiu speculated that he should still have some merit left, but he didn't know exactly how much.

He released the pointless, purely cooperative lifting technique, rubbed his forehead, and said helplessly, "I used to think your groups were randomly assigned, but now I know you're a real victim."

001 floated there, surprised, "Little Xiu Xiu, you can actually make sarcastic remarks now. Hehe, merit is money to me, it only has value if it comes in and goes out."

Emperor Xiu said coldly: No wonder he didn't even have the merit of converting energy before.

He turned and went into the study, which was fully equipped with everything from computers to optical computers. But apart from the form, they were all pretty much the same in function: you could play games, chat, browse forums, and so on.

He opened the search box, typed in the question, read it carefully, then turned off the computer and went out to rest.

001 has entered hibernation at the speed of light.

Six hours later, 001 woke up, and Di Xiu also woke up and took him to the Crystal Palace.

001, looking completely bewildered, clung to his shoulder and asked, "What do you want to buy? Don't you still have one of those healing potions you bought last time that you haven't used yet?"

The one that was used up wasn't even for my own use.

Di Xiu said in a relatively gentle tone, "I'll buy it for you."

"What's here..."

001 wanted to ask what was available for him, but when his gaze fell on the spherical pod directly in front of him, he was speechless. His eyes lit up, but then he hesitated.

"You have money, don't worry."

After Di Xiu affixed the ID card to the identification area next to the cabin, the cover opened automatically. He then picked up 001 and put it inside, pressed the close button, and then lowered his eyes to look at the little leader who was lying on the cover with teary eyes.

The transit station is a rest area built for mission takers. All the services here are for mission takers to use, but the systems generally don't need them, except for one thing: system upgrade permissions within the mall.

It wasn't expensive; Emperor Xiu already had enough when he saw it. But to avoid the little system feeling that he was wasting his life savings, he delayed it.

He wants to include everything that other systems have.

Not many people come to the Crystal Palace, and some of them are newcomers who come to broaden their horizons. After noticing the actions of the one mission taker, all the small systems showed envy.

They also want to be taskers like that, they also want to level up, they don't want to be called trash, sob sob sob.

The upgrade only took an hour. Di Xiu summoned the mall sprite, asked for a chair, and waited nearby.

Someone came over to talk to him, full of incomprehension and disapproval: "Brother, you'll be separated after ten missions anyway, why bother?"

"Give me a peach, and I will repay you with a plum."

"So you're willing to go bankrupt to file a lawsuit? No wonder you're part of the wronged group."

"..."

During the upgrade, the spherical cabin displays the system's upgrade number, with yellow lettering on a black background: "Injustice Group 001," which is very conspicuous.

The small system next to it quickly pulled away the tasker who had inexplicably started mocking it, and apologized repeatedly.

An hour later, the hatch opened, and 001 threw herself into Di Xiu's arms, acting cute and rolling around, only to be coldly and ruthlessly thrown away by the latter.

There was no difference in appearance, but Di Xiu could sense that the energy in his body had increased dozens of times, so there was no possibility that he would run out of energy again.

It's still the Twin Towers, and the world level is randomly generated.

"roar--"

"Roar—"

A foul stench filled the air.

The keyword "apocalypse," coupled with this inhuman roar, made Di Xiu follow his body's remaining instincts and swing the iron rod in his hand, smashing the head of the thing that was howling at him. He couldn't control his strength, and immediately rotten flesh and brains splattered everywhere.

He tried to raise his hand to block it, but felt a heavy weight on his left hand, so he could only purse his lips and make a final, stubborn resistance.

His olfactory system was so stimulated that it temporarily shut down; the smell was incredibly enticing, and Di Xiu's brow twitched.

This is a supermarket.

Supermarkets, supply depots in the apocalypse, are inevitably frequented by zombies.

He was currently fending off zombies with his back to a row of shelves, a large cloth bag in his left hand. Scanning it with his divine sense, he saw self-heating hot pot? Potato chips? Apples? Candy? What kind of time is this? The original owner of this body still cared about a balanced diet and a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste?

001 immediately used the new function to scan the surroundings and the condition of Di Xiu's body, and quickly said: "Given your current physical condition, I don't recommend a head-on confrontation. There is an SUV outside, and the fuel tank is still warm. It was probably driven by the original owner. Let's go."

Di Xiu used his staff to swat away a zombie that was lunging down from above, and then unleashed a series of kicks, sending all the zombies that were baring their teeth and claws flying away.

There is an energy in this body, the effects of which are currently unknown. It doesn't seem to be any kind of elemental power, and this isn't a suitable place to test it.

"Let's go," 001 called out.

Suddenly, heavy metal music started playing from a speaker in the corner of the supermarket, attracting the attention of most of the zombies. Di Xiu immediately rushed out, grabbing a 4.5-liter bucket of water along the way, which he could also use as a hammer.

This body has clearly been enhanced; it carries such a bucket of water with ease.

001 fell into an eerie silence for a second, feeling that the scene was not aesthetically pleasing and was full of incongruity.

However, he didn't remain silent for long. When Di Xiu was about to leave the supermarket, he told him the location of the car, even though Di Xiu had already found it himself using his divine sense.

Once in the car, 001 acted as the navigator, reporting the safe points he had selected: "Turn right 800 meters ahead, drive another 100 meters, there's a three-star hotel on your right. There are zombies on the first and second floors, but the floors above the third are temporarily safe. I suggest climbing up the outer wall."

Di Xiu stepped on the gas, smashing through the zombies blocking his way. These skeletons covered in rotting flesh were bound to leave something behind when they crashed into him, sticking to the windshield and making it sticky that the wipers couldn't remove.

However, it wasn't a problem. As Di Xiu drove, he tested the limits of his divine sense in this world. He drove blindly to the hotel and then used the small platform outside the window to quickly climb to the rooftop.

There was no one or any zombies on the rooftop. There were seven people in the hotel, all hiding in their rooms, too afraid to come out. It seemed like the apocalypse hadn't been going on for very long.

In addition, there is a swimming pool on the rooftop.

While cleaning himself up, Di Xiu also absorbed the memories of the world line and the original owner of the body.
