Di Xiu didn't bring the three students into Jinchuan City. They weren't strong enough, and although he would protect them and they wouldn't be in any danger, it wouldn't be effective for them to train. So it was better not to bring them.
When he said, "You can't come in with me. Stay here and wait for me to come back," the three of them panicked for a moment, but quickly realized that their mindset was wrong. They adjusted themselves and chose not to cause any trouble.
This was the first time they had parted ways with him since they met. As they watched him drive away, they felt a sense of absurdity, like a single father abandoning his three burdensome children. Yan Jing felt this especially strongly because she had almost been abandoned by her parents when she was a child.
They shook off the strange thoughts, glanced at each other, and began to spar with lone zombies, hoping to obtain some crystal cores in the process.
Emperor Xiu neither supported nor opposed their use of crystal cores for cultivation.
Once you're in Jinchuan City, finding Cai Wenbin will depend entirely on your own abilities.
After checking the road conditions, Di Xiu felt that walking would be faster than driving, so he put the car into his spatial storage, leaving only a backpack.
He stretched his limbs, channeling his almost unused superpowers into his legs, ignoring the zombies trying to scratch him along the way, stepping on the still haphazardly arranged car roofs, occasionally climbing walls and scaling eaves, quickly heading towards the city center.
The future zombie king, completely unaware of the danger, was sitting on the ground in the city center square, gnawing on a small zombie when he suddenly went mad and let out a joyful howl.
The zombies that had been wandering over without being noticed immediately fled upon hearing the sound, and the surrounding zombie pigeons also struggled to flap their wings and fly away.
001 quickly took a screenshot and exclaimed, "Wow! I guess I have a real talent for photography. This screenshot is really artistic!"
From afar comes a pale sky, dim skyscrapers, and on the mall's giant screen, celebrities still appear glamorous and smiling, while below the screen lies a plaza teeming with the walking dead. A blank space remains beside the fountain in the center of the plaza, where a large zombie is biting a smaller one—at first glance, it looks more like an embrace. Around them are scattered, eerie pigeons. At the edge of the image, a cluster of vibrant white flowers blooms.
Emperor Xiu glanced at it with his divine sense and didn't hesitate to praise 001.
Cai Wenbin, the future zombie king, has already reached level three in just six days, possessing four parts superpowers, four parts ruthlessness, and three parts luck.
He had read post-apocalyptic novels before his death, and the part of his consciousness that had recovered contained those contents, so he firmly believed that zombies had crystal cores... and it turned out that they really did have crystal cores.
Given his bizarre and powerful devouring ability, and his twisted and ruthless personality, it's not surprising that he achieved this.
He's the final boss who can catch up with Simon Hui entirely on his own.
He only has superpowers, but Simon Hui has two golden fingers: cultivation techniques and a spiritual spring space.
Cai Wenbin was probably the first Level 3 zombie. His eyes were three shades grayer than the Level 2 zombies next to him, and anyone with a sensitive eye for color could tell the difference.
He probably washed in the nearby fountain pool, as there were many water stains under him. He looked much cleaner than the other zombies, and his clothes seemed to have been changed, but now they were dirty again.
While other zombies were still in the stage of rotting skin and flesh, he already had several pieces of good skin and flesh on his body. The visible parts, pieced together, were about the size of a baby's fist.
The little zombie in his arms was quite clean, and you could vaguely make out its original appearance. Oval face, big eyes, high nose bridge, even as a zombie, it still had delicate features. It must have been the kind of cute little boy that everyone wanted to pinch when they saw it before.
After the rotting flesh of the hands and feet was gnawed away, then the internal organs were removed, and finally the brain was broken open to extract the crystal core.
Cai Wenbin placed the clear but dull crystal core in the water beside him, washed it, and then held it up to his eyes to look at it in the sunlight.
I don't know how much his vision has recovered, or whether he can see at all.
A tall figure came from outside the square, and with a few leaps, appeared in front of him.
He didn't care, and threw the crystal core into his mouth. When he chewed it, it made a grating sound like glass being crushed.
He grinned at Di Xiu, black smoke rising from his teeth covered in rotten flesh, and a fragment melted and disappeared in the black smoke.
His lips twitched, probably as if he wanted to give a wicked smile: "Aww."
Countless black wisps enveloped Emperor Xiu, who kicked the arrogant future zombie king to the ground. As he pulled his leg back, he bent his long leg and stomped heavily on Emperor Xiu's chest. The spot where his foot landed immediately sank in, and it sounded as if ribs were breaking.
At the same time, a cold light flashed as a longsword, out of step with the times, was drawn and pressed against his brow.
Cai Wenbin sensed danger, but completely disregarded the possibility of being stabbed through the head. A strange smile appeared on his face as he recklessly pushed the black energy emanating from his supernatural power toward the enemy who was stepping on him, only to find that the latter actually reached his hand in.
He paused for a moment, then became excited and yelled "Awoo!" at Di Xiu several times.
Emperor Xiu is proficient in the eight major dialect groups of China and hundreds of languages, but zombie language obviously does not belong to any of them, so he said he could not understand it.
The black mist stopped a foot away from Di Xiu, unable to get any closer.
Di Xiu withdrew his spiritual power and supernatural abilities one after another. 001 stopped the watch. 108 seconds after withdrawing the supernatural abilities, Di Xiu felt a fine stinging pain in his hands and black spots began to appear on his hands. He then made an estimate of Cai Wenbin's supernatural abilities.
He waved his hand, and the black mist rushed back towards Cai Wenbin's face, directly corroding away a piece of good skin the size of a fingernail.
The Devouring ability seems too powerful; it can even harm the user.
Di Xiu casually stuck his sword into the ground beside him, and instantly the bricks and stones shattered. Several pieces of the sword hit Cai Wenbin's face, instantly creating dents in his mangled flesh.
