Three hundred years ago, the Western Continent sought help from the Eastern Continent. The Zhong family ancestor chose to stay for love and did not return with the others. In his old age, however, he could not help but miss his homeland.
His dying wish was to return to his homeland, but the Zhong family had always held important positions in the Blood Hunter Alliance, and the vampires were always restless, so this matter was delayed generation after generation. Emperor Xiu only saw it when he was flipping through the handbook that had been passed down.
He happened to be planning to visit the Eastern Continent, so this was just a side trip.
Harvey, the old man from the mission department, can finally retire in peace. He survived to the end this time thanks to his excellent marksmanship.
He was filled with curiosity about the Eastern Continent, and having no family ties to him, he boarded the ship as well.
After two months at sea, they finally reached the other side of the ocean.
Harvey, who had never been on a boat before, was tossed around so much that he could barely breathe, even though he took seasickness medication on time. When the boat docked, he struggled to get up, but Di Xiu channeled some spiritual energy into him and carried him off the boat.
The timeline doesn't mention the situation in the Eastern Continent, but all you see are familiar black hairs, which makes Di Xiu, who's become aesthetically fatigued from seeing so many colorful hairs, relax a little.
001 came out, connected to the network here, and exclaimed softly, "It seems that this place is more developed than the Western Continent."
Before Di Xiu could speak, he found the answer himself: "It's probably because the zombies here were wiped out more than a hundred years ago."
"Go to the bank first."
Unfortunately, there was practically no communication between the two sides, and he didn't have the currency from the Eastern Continent, so he planned to exchange some of the hard currency he brought, the gold bars, for some.
After spending some time getting a bank card and exchanging two gold bars, Di Xiu carried Harvey to a nearby hotel to rest. The receptionist said he could order takeout, but when he saw the antique phone Harvey took out, his expression became slightly unsettling.
He went out for a stroll and came back with some delicious food and two new cell phones.
The power of delicious food is immense; Harvey managed to get out of bed, finish eating, and then went to the toilet to vomit.
He collapsed to the ground, his eyes vacant, and asked Di Xiu, "Why are you alright?"
Why do you need something?
Harvey couldn't help but fake cry.
"I have to leave for a while. Please stay here. If you have any questions, you can ask the front desk."
Harvey pursed his lips and nodded silently.
Emperor Xiu left him enough money, and with the urn, he went to find the Zhong family according to the address recorded in the manual. But three hundred years have passed, and he doesn't really have much hope.
He quickly learned about the situation in the Eastern Continent through his mobile phone.
There was indeed a Zhong family in history, which was once a famous exorcist family specializing in dealing with zombies, but something seems to have happened more than two hundred years ago, and they declined from then on.
Later, with the widespread adoption of cremation, zombies disappeared from this continent, and the Zhong family was completely wiped out.
Di Xiu found a place called Mud Bridge Village. As soon as he arrived at the village entrance, his peculiar eyes attracted the attention of many people. Some children who were not shy came up to him and asked, "Big brother, are you wearing colored contact lenses?"
Before he could speak, the child's mother came over and pulled him away, saying with an awkward smile, "The child doesn't know any better and talks nonsense. Um, you look unfamiliar. Are you here to visit relatives?"
"Yes, we've come to find the Zhong family."
The woman had initially thought he was unapproachable based on his demeanor and worried that the child might cause trouble for him, but when he spoke first, she asked warmly, "Are you from the Zhong family, the ones who do feng shui?"
Di Xiu nodded and asked, "Does the Zhong family have any descendants here?"
"No, they've all moved away. Only the ancestral home remains. But next month is Qingming Festival, so they'll definitely be back. If you can't wait, Chen the Cripple should know their contact information; he's the one who cleans the Zhong family's ancestral home."
Could you please give me directions?
"Oh, I happen to be free, I'll take you there." The woman told her son to go home and led Di Xiu into the village.
After contacting the descendants of the Zhong family, who would probably arrive in three to five days, Chen the Cripple invited Di Xiu to stay at his home.
Four days later, a Geely car entered the village and drove to the entrance of the Zhong family's ancestral home. Many children ran over after the car.
A middle-aged man and a young man got out of the back seat of the car. As soon as the young man got out of the car, he was surrounded by children who, with a mix of amusement and exasperation, started throwing him candy.
Chen the Cripple lived next door. Hearing the commotion, he called Di Xiu to come back.
The middle-aged man was named Zhong Zhengyi, who claimed to be the 23rd generation head of the Zhong family. The young man was his only son, named Zhong Yuze. After introducing themselves, they entered the ancestral home.
Inside the ancestral hall, the genealogy records are well preserved, but the box containing the records shows signs of being burned.
Following the clues to the branch that had been broken off three hundred years ago, Zhong Zhengyi used some mystical methods to confirm the identity of the ashes and nodded in agreement to let them be buried in the ancestral grave.
Zhong Yuze kept staring at Di Xiu, and when he was noticed, he smiled generously, looking very friendly.
"Your Mandarin is quite good. At first glance, I would have thought you were a native of China."
Di Xiu did not explain, nor did the father and son delve into the matter; they had their own methods for recognizing and understanding people.
After confirming his identity, Zhong Zhengyi calculated his generation and said to Di Xiu, "By all accounts, I should be your cousin. If you want to be included in the family genealogy, you need to change your name to Zhong Zhengyi, which is the generational name. Do you understand?"
"Um."
Di Xiu had no objection to the name change and nodded.
Zhong Zhengyi patted his son beside him, telling him to greet the man: "Xiao Ze, call him Uncle."
Zhong Yuze's smile immediately vanished. He muttered something and reluctantly called out.
"Recognizing one's ancestors is a big deal. It just so happens that Qingming Festival is in a month, and the Zhong family members will all be coming back to pay respects to their ancestors. Do you have anything else to do? If not, how about we wait a bit?"
