Chapter 3 The female protagonist has a father who is a traitor (3)

Not long after Emperor Xiu returned to his study, someone knocked on the door again. 001 did something, and after a soft "beep," the door opened automatically, revealing a maid, the same one who had served the dishes earlier.

She was holding a white box with a red cross on it. 001 told Di Xiu, "That's a home first-aid kit. I guess it's for treating your wounds."

Finally, someone with a sane brain came to deliver the first-aid kit. If they hadn't come soon, the scabs would have already formed.

"Sir, your hand...may I take care of it for you?"

Di Xiu glanced at it and nodded slightly.

Presumably, the servants couldn't enter the study without his permission, so the broken teapot is still lying there... probably.

Di Xiu was sitting in his office chair looking at his laptop when someone came in, so he closed it. The maid didn't seem to care, assuming there was some official document that couldn't be leaked.

As the maid bent down to fiddle with the first-aid kit, she inadvertently caught a glimpse of his exposed abs, and her cheeks flushed. The glass bottles in her hands clinked together, making a crisp sound, but she didn't get a single glance from Di Xiu, and she felt a little disappointed.

001 made conversation by starting a discussion with Di Xiu about the steps modern people take to treat wounds.

The maid bent down slightly and gently wiped away the bloodstains near the wound with a wrung-out white towel. Then she took out a cotton swab, dipped it in iodine, and began to disinfect it.

After confirming that everything was alright, Di Xiu looked up and examined the maid.

She was no different from the other maids, with the same hairstyle and the same dress. What he remembered was that while everyone else was nervously smashing things upstairs, Xia Xueqing was the only one staring at his hands.

It's quite amusing that, as their employer, no one seems to care whether he was injured or not, or about the problem with his clothes.

He was probably too lost in thought to notice that he was staring at the maid's face.

After the maid finished treating his wound, she suddenly reached out to touch his chest, but he instinctively dodged away.

The office chair moved away as he moved, and only then could he see the maid's posture clearly.

She covered the hem of her skirt with one hand, her elbow awkwardly squeezed to the side, her body leaning forward, her back slumped, and when she raised her right arm, it looked as if she was tucking something under her armpit, making her look very awkward. This posture caused her front of the skirt to hang loosely, leaving a noticeable gap between it and her body.

Di Xiu's forehead veins bulged, and he averted his gaze.

Based on his years of experience in human society, 001 deciphered the maid's meaning and was momentarily speechless: "It seems like she's trying to seduce you."

He paused, then changed his wording: "She's definitely trying to seduce you."

Di Xiu ground his back teeth and said coldly, "What are you going to do?"

The maid blinked, straightened up, and casually placed one hand on her chest as if to conceal her exposed skin, while brushing aside a stray hair behind her ear with the other, revealing her snow-white neck.

Seeing that he didn't react, she twisted her fingers together, looked at him shyly and timidly, and said in a soft and affectionate voice, full of doubt: "Sir, you've been looking at me just now, isn't that what you meant?"

001: "..."

Emperor Xiu: "..."

Without explanation, Emperor Xiu issued an expulsion order.

"go out."

Annoyance and shame flashed in the maid's eyes. She was dissatisfied with his misleading and lack of understanding, but dared not say anything. She lowered her head and slowly packed up the medical kit.

"Have Zhou Lie come up here and clean this place up."

The maid paused for a moment, then nodded, but before leaving, she hesitated and said, "Sir, would you like to change your clothes?"

Emperor Xiu paused for a moment, glanced at the sky outside, and shook his head.

Zhou Lie came up quickly, his face showing the worry of an old woman. He absentmindedly cleaned up the mess, changed the carpet, and then couldn't help but call out "Sir".

Although he seemed unable to distinguish between primary and secondary tasks, and his eyesight and mental acuity were not very good, he was still quite efficient at the tasks assigned to him.

Di Xiu looked up from the computer: "What is it?"

"Miss still refuses to eat..."

Di Xiu thought to himself, "What does this have to do with me?" But he said something completely unrelated: "From now on, cook all three meals according to my taste."

The food just now looked and smelled delicious, but for some reason, although he liked it, he had little appetite while smelling and eating it. After thinking about it, he guessed that it was not to his body's taste; it was too sweet.

Zhou Lie: "..."

Zhou Lie couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor young lady again, but just as he was about to speak up for her, he heard Di Xiu coldly say, "Remember your position before you speak."

"But sir, have you forgotten Madam's last words? You said you would take good care of Miss."

Di Xiu scoffed. Taking care of her wasn't like being her dutiful son or grandson. Did she even deserve it?

He didn't think he had done anything wrong, because in the past, anyone who tried to get close to him had at least been thrown out. On the contrary, Xia Xueqing's behavior made him feel offended.

"Zhou Lie, you've overstepped your bounds again."

Emperor Xiu did not intend to let these people slip out of his control while the situation was unclear, especially since Zhou Lie was the original owner's steward. However, this did not mean that he could tolerate Zhou Lie challenging his authority time and time again.

His gaze was deep, his eyes flashing with lightning: "If there's a next time, get out of here."

Zhou Lie unconsciously bent down, but still stubbornly clenched his fists, craning his neck to give him a deep look, and then turned and left without saying goodbye.

Di Xiu frowned, wondering if this person was here to be a steward, or if he really wanted to manage the household.

001 flipped through the detailed information about Zhou Lie that she had gathered, and her gaze lingered on one of the photos: "He has a relationship with Qu Yingyue (Xia Hongfei's wife), and they look like they're childhood sweethearts. Hmm, is he playing the role of someone who loves but cannot have, and who protects the daughter of his white moonlight? How 'devoted'."
