Chapter 915: The Innocent Girl of Doomsday (22)

Su Man was completely bewildered by Rupert's description. She knew nothing about this kind of scientific research, so she could only comfort him, "If it appears once, it will definitely appear a second time. Don't worry, you will definitely catch it."

"If it happens once, it will happen again? This theory is completely untenable. I can help you calculate the probability..."

"Speak human language!"

Su Man gritted her teeth.

Rupert was frightened by Su Man's fierce appearance at the moment and shrank back, "Thank you for your unfounded comfort."

Su Man: “…”

Su Man was too lazy to explain the ordinary people's lifestyle to the genius. She came to see Rupert today for another matter.

She told Rupert about her experience last night, including the electric current from Sirius and the strange space she arrived in after being electrocuted.

"...When I tried to walk away, the air became stagnant. When I raised my hands, they felt like they weighed a thousand pounds, and breathing became difficult."

Rupert was so engrossed in listening that he didn't even notice the pen in his hand had dropped. "You mean to say that you are connected to the universe?"

"universe?"

Su Man frowned, "I don't know."

"Could you try again?"

Rupert's expectant look was no different from that of a child asking for candy.

Su Man also wanted to find out the secret, so she agreed.

But when Rupert took out a bunch of wires, Su Man felt a little regretful. She pointed at a whole bundle of electrodes and said, "Are you going to stick all of these on me?"

"yes."

Rupert introduced them one by one. "These are connected to your brain to detect brain waves. These are used to record changes in your body. And these are used to monitor changes in the electromagnetic field around you..."

Seeing Rupert talking about all these things like he knew them all, Su Man knew that if she wanted to understand the ins and outs of it, she would have to be a guinea pig. She closed her eyes and made up her mind, "Come on!"

Twenty minutes later.

Su Man lay flat on the bed, her body covered with densely packed white electrodes.

After Rupert had adjusted all the instruments, he made an OK gesture to Suman.

Suman closed her eyes and tried to imagine that space.

“Tick…tick…”

The sound of the clock seemed to have a hypnotic effect, and Suman's consciousness became blurred.

The next second, a white light flashed before her eyes, and she arrived at that space again.

The familiar feeling of weightlessness, the familiar feeling of suffocation.

After completing the procedure, Su Man opened her eyes and asked, "How is it?"

“…”

Rupert, with his back to her, remained motionless. Su Man felt a little strange. She pushed him with her hand covered with electrodes, "What's wrong with you?"

It didn't matter that she pushed him, Rupert was actually pushed down by her.

At the moment of falling, Rupert still maintained the same posture, without even blinking.

Su Man was stunned. What is this?

Suddenly, Rupert moved, and the screen of the instrument continued to flicker.

Rupert looked puzzled as he stood up from the ground, "What happened? Why did I fall?"

Su Man asked tentatively, "Don't you feel anything?"

"What does it feel like?"

Rupert rubbed his elbow, "I was just sitting there, and suddenly I fell to the ground."

“…”

Su Man's heart beat wildly. Could it be that she could stop time?

-

"What? Pause time?"

Rupert was stunned after hearing Suman's description.

Su Man nodded, "It's just a pause in time. I just came out of that strange space, and everything around me was paused."

"This, I, you..."

Rupert opened his mouth several times before speaking. "What I caught yesterday..."

"That should be me."

Rupert, who got a positive answer, seemed to be stimulated by something. He scratched his ears and cheeks, walked around the room, and muttered to himself.

"Time paused...different space...dimension..."

Suddenly, Rupert turned to Suman again, and the light in his eyes seemed as if twenty flying monkeys exploded in his pupils at the same time.

Su Man instinctively stepped back, "You, what are you doing?"

Rupert's cheeks flushed with excitement. "There's hope, there's hope. There's hope for the research on dimensional space!"

Suman: Why do I have a bad feeling...

"Well, I paused time, not space."

In response to Suman's question, Rupert explained, "In fact, the concept of time itself does not exist. It is only used to record changes. For example, the Earth's rotation is one day, and its revolution around the sun is one year. People age, and the tides rise and fall. Rather than saying that time defines space, it is better to say that the changes in space define time."

Su Man seemed to understand, "So you mean, what I can pause is not time, but space?"

"Not entirely."

Rupert explained, "Time has different meanings in different spatial dimensions. For example, we humans live in three-dimensional space, and time, as the fourth dimension, is built on top of the three-dimensional universe. Therefore, everything in our universe is controlled by time, which means that everything will be changed by time."

"If we humans lived in a fifth-dimensional space, things would be different. In that space, the control of time would disappear because you could do anything from any point in time. In other words, in a fifth-dimensional space, time is just a coordinate, not a time that controls you."

Although Rupert talked incessantly, Su Man still felt that what he said was too obscure. She raised her hand to interrupt him and asked, "Can you give me an example?"
