Chapter 2 The Lady of the Duke of Zhenguo 2
Song Li saw it, but he pretended not to and continued to spout nonsense, which angered the emperor so much that he drank two more cups of tea and glared at Song Li several times.
The court officials were thoroughly enjoying the spectacle of the Duke of Zhenguo and the Emperor's confrontation, as it was the first time they had witnessed such a fierce exchange.
Finally, the Emperor ordered Song Li not to attend the morning court for the next month, otherwise, he was afraid that Song Li would anger him to death.
Other ministers would feel like the sky had fallen when they heard this.
However, when Song Li heard this, he thought it was wonderful.
Finally, he didn't have to come to the morning court session anymore. Heaven knows how much he hated it.
Song Li appeared angry, but inwardly he was secretly delighted...
emperor:"........"
He noticed it, though others couldn't.
He suddenly regretted it.
Song Li was definitely trying to provoke him on purpose, otherwise he wouldn't have been so angry that he told him not to come to the morning court for the next month.
Song Li achieved his goal, and of course he was happy, but he wasn't.
However, a ruler's word is his bond; once spoken, it cannot be taken back...
Finally, the Emperor glared at Song Li a few more times.
Song Li: "........."
Why did the Emperor glare at him so much? He didn't want to either; it was all part of the plan.
After the court session ended, Song Li strode out, not wanting to linger even for a moment.
The ministers behind him watched Song Li's angry (hurried) back and began to whisper among themselves.
They all thought Song Li was angry because the emperor had told him he didn't need to attend the morning court for the next month.
However, in reality, Song Li was simply eager to return home; they had overthought it...
The Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion
Luo Xi looked at Song Li, who was sitting across from her drinking tea, and asked, "So, for the next month, you don't have to go to the morning court?"
Song Li said happily, "Yes."
"I can finally spend more time with you, my lady. Are you happy?"
Luo Xi looked at Song Li's expectant eyes and smiled, "Happy."
Upon hearing this, Song Li happily hugged Luo Xi and kissed her several times.
Luo Xi: "......."
It was evening, in a cave in the suburbs.
A man in black asked, "You're saying that Shen Yu (the Emperor) and Song Li had a fight?"
"Yes, they argued, they were at loggerheads. The Emperor even ordered that the Duke of Zhenguo not have to attend the morning court for the next month."
"Could it be that because we framed the Duke of Zhenguo last time, the Emperor believed that the Duke of Zhenguo was one of our men?"
The man in black said definitively, "Impossible, they must be acting."
"Everyone knows they have a good relationship."
One of them said, "My lord, we can't be too absolute in everything!"
The man in black: "........."
He glanced at him, his tone a little cold, "Song Li is already the Duke of Zhenguo, and Shen Yu treats him well, trusts him, asks him for everything, and doesn't suppress him."
"Tell me, what reason does the Duke of Zhenguo have to betray Shen Yu and cooperate with us?"
Are you all idiots? Can't you use your brains?
The other two: "........."
Man in black: "Keep a close eye on Song Li!"
"I think the Emperor's decision to have him stay away from court for a month must be because he wants him to do something else important."
"Yes, my lord."
For a period of time afterward, groups of people took turns keeping a close eye on Song Li.
They only saw Song Li following his wife around every day, inseparable, and they never saw him do anything else.
They were watching Song Li, but someone else was watching them...
