Chapter 5 Killer 5

Chapter 5 Killer 5

Finally, Crown Prince Xia Xi ascended the throne.

He ordered the execution of Minister Song's entire family, which was exactly what Consort Jing desired. She wanted all the people she hated to die with her.

In fact, Consort Jing and the Crown Prince joined forces. Otherwise, given that Consort Jing had lived in the deep palace for a long time, had a poor relationship with her father, and had few connections outside the palace, how could she possibly have contacted the assassins' guild?

In truth, Emperor Xia had always been wary of the Crown Prince, because the prince was exceptionally talented and had many supporters. Furthermore, his maternal grandfather was the Duke of Zhenguo, and his uncle was a Grand General. Anyone would be wary of such a figure. To secure the throne, Emperor Xia supported several princes to compete with the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince was clever; he knew that these people were all supported by his father to deal with him. He didn't focus his attention on his brothers; instead, he targeted Emperor Xia. Once Emperor Xia was dead, those other men would be no threat.

The Crown Prince knew that his mother (the Imperial Concubine) was surrounded by Emperor Xia's men, so he couldn't contact Consort Jing through her. He could only have someone he had placed in the palace secretly contact Consort Jing. He believed that Consort Jing would agree to cooperate. Because he knew that Consort Jing wanted Xia Jiaoyue (the Eldest Princess) and Emperor Xia dead more than anyone else.

So they collaborated.

Two weeks later,

Seeing Luo Xi walking out with her sword, the sixth brother called out, "Seventeen, where are you going? Are you going down the mountain? I'm going down the mountain too, let's go together."

Luo Xi shook her head. "No, we're not on the same path."

After saying that, she used her light-footed skill and flew away in a flash.

Sixth Brother:

Are we really on different paths? He didn't believe it.

Valley of Divine Healers.

Outside the courtyard,

Luo Xi looked at Gu Huaizhi, who was drying herbs in the courtyard.

Gu Huaizhi noticed someone watching him, so he stopped what he was doing, looked up, and gazed outside the courtyard.

Then, he saw Luo Xi, dressed in a red dress, looking as beautiful as fire. He wondered if it was his imagination, so he blinked several times.

It's her! It really is her!

She's here.

He stared at Luo Xi for a few seconds, and then rushed out of the courtyard and ran towards her.

Gu Huaizhi pulled Luo Xi into his arms and held her tightly.

"Luo Xi, you've finally come to find me. I thought... I thought you would never come again."

Gu Huaizhi and Luo Xi were good friends. Half a year ago, they drank a pot of bamboo leaf wine that Gu Huaizhi had buried, got drunk, and slept together. The next day, Luo Xi left and never came back.

He considered going to the Assassin's Guild to find her, but she had once said not to, or they wouldn't even be able to be friends. Gu Huaizhi knew she meant what she said. So, he refrained from going to her and waited there instead.

"Luo Xi, you....."

Luo Xi pushed him away, "Gu Huaizhi, is there any poison that can make life worse than death?"

Gu Huaizhi nodded. "Yes, yes, how much do you want?"

"I'd like a small bottle."

"good."

Fifteen minutes later, Gu Huaizhi placed a bottle of poison in Luo Xi's hand. Then, he turned around and gave her two bottles of potent wound medicine, saying, "Take these with you too."

"Okay, thank you."

Gu Huaizhi grabbed Luo Xi's hand and asked nervously, "Luo Xi, I want to take responsibility for what happened that night, is that okay?"

Luo Xi looked into his eyes and didn't say anything.

Gu Huaizhi lowered his eyes and abruptly changed the subject, "Luo Xi, will you... will you come again in the future?"

Luo Xi smiled and said, "Come on, aren't we friends?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Huaizhi smiled and said, "Yes, we are still friends."

"Um."

Then, Gu Huaizhi watched Luo Xi leave...
