Chapter 12 Liang Yuan

"The Emperor, by the Mandate of Heaven, summoned and said: 'I will find a virtuous and good wife, and I will wait for the beauty of the state, to be the heir apparent, and allow her to return to the family of the crown prince.

Tu, with her gentle and docile nature, and quiet and leisurely disposition, is a good candidate for the title of a noble lady. The relevant officials shall prepare the ceremony and decree for the title, and the chief shall carry it out.

I hereby order you."

Tu Qingyu knelt on the ground, smiled, and accepted the imperial edict.

"Thank you for your grace."

After everyone left, she found a chair and sat down without even looking at Jiang Jingchuan who was standing next to her.

Jiang Jingchuan had almost gotten used to her occasional rudeness over the past few days, so he didn't care and sat down on the chair next to her.

"The day after tomorrow will be the enthronement ceremony. The crown and robes are ready. You should be mentally prepared."

Liangyuan was just the prince's concubine, so the ceremony of enthroning her was not that troublesome.

However, after going through the formalities and serving tea to the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, the ceremony was considered complete.

Tu Qingyu looked at the imperial edict in her hand and pulled a wry smile from the corner of her mouth, "Does this servant have any choice?"

"You're wrong." Jiang Jingchuan didn't respond to her question, but corrected her: "From today on, you must call yourself a concubine."

Tu Qingyu glanced away and stopped looking at him.

He reached out and rubbed the little girl's head. "I've had the Qionghua Palace next to the main hall renovated. It's spacious and has a nice view. After your ceremony, you can live there."

Tu Qingyu's expression changed. "I'll go back to where I used to live to get my things first, is that okay?"

"Of course, I'll go with you."

She didn't refuse, and seemed to be indifferent.

That afternoon, she was wearing a thick cloak, and was led by Jiang Jingchuan, along with the eunuchs and palace maids from the main hall, and returned to her previous residence in a grand procession.

When she came, the first and second class people who originally lived in the small courtyard were stunned when they saw her appearance.

The girl, wearing a sky-blue cloak and with pearl hairpins and tassels on her head that sparkled in the sun, walked slowly towards them, making them feel as if they had seen a goddess.

It was only when He San, who was following Jiang Jingchuan, coughed lightly that they reacted and knelt down to salute.

"Greetings to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, may His Royal Highness be blessed with good health. Greetings to Tu Liangyuan, may Liangyuan be safe."

Tu Qingyu paused. Jiang Jingchuan thought she didn't know what to do, so he whispered in her ear, "In such situations from now on, just say 'no need to be polite.'"

After saying that, he looked at the person kneeling on the ground and said, "No need to be polite."

"Thank you, Your Highness."

After those people stood up, she walked straight to her original room and said, "Your Highness, I want to be alone."

Jiang Jingchuan of course knew what she was going to take and nodded slightly.

She didn't have anything to take with her, just a jade pendant her mother had given her when she was a child, and the diary.

After all, she will have better clothes and jewelry in the future. The little money she saves from her monthly allowance is not as valuable as the gold melon seeds in the purse that the prince gave her before she went out today.

However, she still symbolically packed up some of the items. When she was leaving, Madam Wu held out her hand and said, "Liang Yuan, give these to the servants."

"No, I can do it myself." She refused subconsciously.

He San bowed and said with a smile, "Oh, you'd better give it to us. If you tire yourself out, His Highness won't let us go."

She glanced at Jiang Jingchuan, who had an expressionless face beside her, then reached out and handed the thing to Nanny Wu.

After they walked out of the yard, the palace maids in the yard stood up, their faces full of envy and obsession with the prince.

"This is really a step to heaven."

"She is so beautiful. If I were Your Highness, I would like her too. This kind of blessing is something we cannot envy."

"Yeah, I just found out today that people can grow like this."

"In the past, they all envied us four palace maids, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, for our good luck and good life. Now they should know that this is true good luck. The days ahead will be even better."

"Did you see that? His Highness was so kind to her just now. So gentle."

"I dare not watch it. I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight if I watch it."

"Everyone says Chen Liangdi is the most beautiful woman in the Eastern Palace, but now..."

"Hush, are you going to die?"

Not long after the group walked through the courtyard, they met the three palace maids who had bullied Tu Qingyu when they lived in the lower room at a fork in the road.

The prince glanced at them calmly, then turned to look at Tu Qingyu, "They bullied you. Is there anything you want to do?"

The people kneeling on the ground were trembling. They never imagined that Tu Qingyu would end up like this.

Tu Qingyu was silent for a moment, then said softly, "Just punish them by making them clean the toilet for a month."

Tsk, a little rabbit is a little rabbit. He doesn’t even know how to fight back when someone bullies him.

He agreed on the surface, "Okay."

But she glanced at He San out of the corner of her eye. He San quickly understood and after they left, he raised his hand and had the three palace maids dragged away.

Later, Tu Qingyu never saw these palace maids again, but she knew that they had been sweeping the toilet all their lives.

It's a bit miserable, but because she was jealous of the only second-class palace maid living with her, she bullied her and had to sweep the toilet for the rest of her life.

But what does this have to do with her?

After Tu Qingyu came back, he acted as if he felt his diary would not be safe no matter where he kept it.

I looked left and right in the main hall, but couldn't find a suitable place to hide something.

That night, she looked at Jiang Jingchuan and asked expectantly, "Your Highness, can I move into Qionghua Palace tomorrow?"

"Why? Is the main hall not big enough for you?"

Jiang Jingchuan certainly knew what she was struggling with, and he also knew that sooner or later she would have to move out.

But I just feel reluctant to let her go, thinking that the longer she stays, the better.
