Chapter 190 The Ugly Witch (4)
The King's Chamber.
"King, do you remember to promise me a wish?" Shi Yi stood respectfully, as always, giving him enough face.
"Of course." Carl looked at her, who was still covered in a black robe, and became curious about her true appearance.
She sounded very young, perhaps younger than himself.
"Then now is the time for you to fulfill your promise." Shi Yi spread out her hands, and the silver bracelet was placed in her palm.
"This is mine." Carl exclaimed.
He had always thought that he had lost it during his escape, but he didn't expect it to be in her hands.
"If you don't fulfill your promise, then I will use this to curse your soul." Shi Yi took the bracelet back.
"I am the king of the kingdom, and naturally I will not go back on my word or break my promise." Carl's eyes showed a hint of anger.
He just felt that his dignity was challenged.
"Then tomorrow in the hall, I will tell you my wish." Shi Yi retreated quietly.
In the hall.
"Your Majesty, the queen is guilty of a heinous crime and must be put to death." The general knelt down to petition.
"Although the queen has committed a serious mistake, she is still my stepmother." Carl looked embarrassed.
"The subjects of the kingdom all know that your Majesty is pure and filial, but if the queen, this scourge, is not eliminated, it will be a day of injustice to the late king." The prime minister also knelt down to express his feelings.
"Then, choose a day to deal with the queen." Carl looked sad, and the ministers who were not familiar with him really thought that he had a gentle personality.
"King, now is the time for you to fulfill your promise." Shi Yi walked out of the shadows.
A trace of displeasure flashed in Carl's eyes, but he gently explained to the ministers: "It was the help of the witch that day that allowed me to escape from the queen's clutches. Therefore, I swear that I will definitely repay the witch's wish."
Ryan held the armrests with both hands, somewhat curious about what the girl, whose whole body was shrouded in black with only a pair of eyes exposed, would wish for.
"I want you to marry me." As soon as Shi Yi finished speaking, there was an uproar in the hall.
"How can this be? There has never been a witch as queen in our kingdom!" The prime minister was the first to stand up and object.
"No, the king can agree to any other wish, but no one has ever seen your face. How can we know whether you are beautiful or ugly?" The general disagreed.
Carl didn't expect that her wish was this. Shocked, he wanted to explore her face covered by the black cloth even more.
His queen couldn't be so ugly that she dared not show her true face to others.
"King, if you keep your promise, then I will curse you to never have children in your life." Shi Yi stood in the center of the hall with cold eyes.
"I will naturally not forget the witch's kindness to me. But I have never seen your face during my exile with you..." Carl stared at her closely.
If he was really cursed to never have children in his life, then the kingdom would be inherited by someone of another surname, and all his efforts would be meaningless.
Shi Yi took off the black veil on her face, revealing her pointed nose, wrinkled forehead, rotten mouth, and cheeks crawling with fat maggots.
Many people in the hall cried out in surprise, and the timid ones even began to vomit.
Carl's eyes seemed to be fixed, and he couldn't move his eyeballs away. He thought that if he really married such an ugly monster, he would be ridiculed by his subjects day and night.
Only Ryan looked at Shi Yi with compassion.
He was originally a favored child of heaven, but he fell down in an accidental horse race and became disabled. He could no longer walk and could only sit in a wheelchair or wear prostheses and crutches. He could understand the sadness of being ridiculed.
The eyes behind him were burning, and Shi Yi couldn't ignore them. She turned her head and looked at him, and the maggot that crawled to the tip of her nose happened to fall down and fell to the ground dead.
The sharp-eyed minister saw a piece of white crawling under her feet, and it was conceivable that her body must have begun to rot.
The faint fishy smell in the air reminded Carl of the breakfast he had eaten in the cottage, and he vomited immediately.
Ryan sat there without any reaction. There was nothing in his eyes, only a poor girl, standing helplessly in the hall, looking at him for help.
This scene reminded him of the time when he first learned that his legs were disabled. He was also so painful and helpless, but no one around him could understand his pain. After he lost his legs, his brother and his father became closer. He could no longer stand up and had lost the qualification to compete for the prince's throne. He locked himself in the room day and night, thinking about the meaning of continuing to live, but he had no answer.
He always felt that perhaps his experience was a test given by God, but the girl in front of him had received a deeper test than himself, and she was still strong.
Can he help her?
"Your Majesty, it's time for you to fulfill your promise." Shi Yi turned around and retracted his gaze, looking at Carl.
Carl's mouth was still stained with yellow stains left by vomiting just now, and his whole face was wrinkled like an orange peel. He really didn't want to marry such an ugly thing! But he once promised to fulfill the witch's wish.
"The king is the most noble man in our kingdom, how can he marry a witch like you who is ugly and horrible!" The general had already taken out a knife, ready to get rid of her.
The prime minister gave him a look, indicating that he should not act rashly for the sake of the king's descendants.
Carl suddenly remembered what the fairy had said, that she was the kindest witch, so did it mean that they could discuss it.
He said with a slight smile on his face: "Maybe we can talk about this slowly. After all, you have done me a great favor, and you are the kindest witch. I believe you must not want to hurt others actively."
"Just say what you want to say." At this time, the black veil was covered back on her face.
But the ministers standing in the hall had already remembered her appearance deeply in their minds. Now whenever they saw her, their minds were full of pointed noses, rotten cheeks and twisting maggots.
"Do you want to marry me only, or anyone else?" Carl carefully said his plan.
If the witch just wants to get married, then the object may not be herself. Then she can choose any one of the men in the hall, and he will grant her marriage.
"The king doesn't want to fulfill his promise?" Shi Yi saw through his thoughts.
"No, no." Carl's face turned pale and said, "There are more than one talented young people in this hall. You should choose carefully."
"Who would like my ugly appearance?" Shi Yi sneered and glanced at the ministers standing there, "If any of you are willing to marry me, of course I will agree."
"I am willing to marry you on my own initiative." Ryan pushed his wheelchair to her side.
The second prince, who had always been ignored by everyone in the hall, was like a hero in the eyes of everyone in the hall.
