Chapter 100: Mind Reading: Helping My Mom Give Birth to My Little Brother (14)

"Mom?"

"Wanwan?"

No one expected that Xin Wan would suddenly appear so late.

Even Xin Wan herself couldn't explain why she came back after making arrangements for her son.

Obviously, she didn't care about that man's life or death.

Obviously, she always felt that her daughter was capable of protecting herself.

But in the end, she ran back.

Looking at the man holding the child in front of her, Xin Wan's eyes couldn't help but turn red.

She pursed her lips and said, "I asked Wang Ma to take care of Ang Ang for a few days. I promised Ang Ang that I would go find him in a few days."

As he spoke, he walked towards the father and daughter.

Reaching out, he held his daughter in his arms: "It's getting late, go to bed early."

Watching the mother and daughter go upstairs, Jing Ming pursed his lips, his eyes full of complexity.

For the past five years, although they lived under the same roof, he and Xin Wan had always slept in separate rooms.

He knew that Xin Wan had always been worried about something, but he tried to probe her several times but she refused to tell him.

Her sudden departure today made him wonder if she knew something.

He lowered his eyes slightly to hide the pain in his eyes, raised his foot and went back to his room.

For some things, once the first step is taken, there is no turning back.

The next morning, Xin Guoguo got up very early again.

As a child, she didn't get enough sleep, so she started yawning non-stop from the moment she woke up.

Xin Wan silently helped her daughter put on her clothes and asked her to wash up. She then went downstairs to prepare breakfast for the father and daughter.

As soon as I went downstairs, I saw a tall figure sitting on the sofa with a hunched back.

With his arms resting on his knees and his head lowered, an indescribable loneliness emanated from his whole body.

Perhaps he heard the sound, the man looked up and looked towards her.

Xin Wan glanced at him, said nothing, and went into the kitchen.

After Xin Guoguo finished washing up, she ran downstairs by herself.

Seeing her father, the little girl immediately grinned and ran towards him with shining eyes:

"Daddy, good morning!"

"Good morning, Guoguo."

Jing Ming reached out and picked up his daughter, letting her sit on his lap. He gently rubbed his forehead against hers:

"Guoguo, did you sleep well last night? Did you sleep well? Did you dream about your dad?"

One question, three answers.

Little Xing Guoguo answered very seriously:

"Guoguo slept soundly and had a very happy dream! I dreamed that daddy and mommy took Ang Ang and me to the amusement park, and then we sat on the carousel and flew and flew, flying so high!"

"Wow! Guoguo dreamed that he could fly? That means our Guoguo is going to grow taller!"

Jing Ming stood up holding his daughter.

"Come on, let's measure their heights again! Let's see if today's Guoguo is taller than yesterday's Guoguo."

“Yes!”

The little girl nodded her head seriously, "Guoguo eats his meals seriously every day, so he will also grow tall seriously!"

There was a gentle smile between Jing Ming's eyebrows.

He carried his daughter to a corner where a whiteboard was posted.

At this time, the whiteboard was already covered with many horizontal lines.

Every few steps, there is a red line with "Guoguo X years old" marked next to it.

Today, Jingming also took a red pen, carefully drew a straight line on his daughter's head, and then wrote "Guoguo is five years old" stroke by stroke.

Xin Guoguo looked at the red line and lowered her eyes. Today was also Ang Ang's birthday.

“It’s time to eat!”

Xin Wan's voice came from the kitchen.

Jing Ming hurriedly picked up his daughter and said, "Let's go help Mom serve the meal!"

"Uh-huh!"

The father and daughter went into the kitchen.

Jing Ming picked up the porridge bowl, little Xin Guoguo was assigned to hold a spoon, and Xin Wan held three small bowls.

The family of three walked out of the kitchen in a row.

"Just eat something this morning, and Mommy will make you something delicious tonight, okay?"

Xin Wan said as she scooped porridge for her daughter.

Little Xing Guoguo nodded his head earnestly: "Okay! Thank you, Mom!"

Taking the small bowl, the little girl picked up the spoon, gently scooped up a spoonful, blew on it with her pouting mouth, and then swallowed it in one gulp with a "woop".

It was clearly just a bowl of ordinary preserved egg and lean meat porridge, but the little girl ate it with great relish, as if she was eating some kind of delicacies from the land and the sea.

Jingming served himself some porridge, looked at his daughter, and drank it in silence.

Xin Wan held her bowl of porridge, tears flickering in her lowered eyes.

After dinner, the family of three sat in silence, no one spoke.

Until a phone call broke the silence.

Jing Ming picked up the phone: "Hello... OK, I got it... I'll be there right away!"

As he spoke, he stood up.

Xin Guoguo hurriedly pulled his sleeve: "Dad, you promised to take me with you! Adults can't lie to children!"

Jing Ming frowned slightly, bent down and looked at his daughter:

"Guoguo, Daddy has something important to do and can't take you with him. You stay home with Mommy. Be obedient."

"No! I don't! I want Daddy! Daddy doesn't keep his word! Daddy can't leave me! Waaaaaa!"

“Guoguo!”

Jing Ming's face darkened, with a stern look between his brows, "Dad is going to do something very dangerous, and I can't take you with me! You have to listen to me!"

“Wow wow wow!”

Xin Guoguo tilted her neck back and burst into tears.

Xin Wan hugged her daughter and glared at him: "What are you doing?! Can't you just talk nicely?! Look how scared the child is!"

Seeing his daughter crying so sadly, Jing Ming felt a little distressed for a moment.
