Chapter 110

Chapter 110

As Emperor Jingxi carried Qin Su out, he asked the palace maids who were with Qin Su what she had done that day.

Upon hearing from the palace maids that Qin Su hadn't taken a nap after lunch and had been spacing out in the Imperial Garden, Emperor Jingxi's smile faded slightly.

The chief eunuch Liang Danxin, who was standing nearby, immediately stepped forward and reprimanded the princess, saying, "The princess is still young and at the age when she is growing. What are you doing? Don't you know how to advise the princess?"

The palace maids and eunuchs immediately knelt down.

Qingmei, the head palace maid, had served the princess since birth and often saw the emperor. Therefore, she still dared to speak up: "Your Majesty, Her Highness said that she has important matters to attend to, and we servants dare not stop her."

Emperor Jingxi then lowered his head, touched the little bun on Qin Su's head, and smiled, "You have something important to do? What is it that you have to do even without taking a nap?"

Qin Su did not answer the question, but sat comfortably in the emperor's arms, and asked in return, "Why is Father blaming them?"

She was remarkably intelligent from a young age. Despite her young age, she spoke logically and coherently, and Emperor Jingxi was always serious and patient when speaking to her.

He said, "Because they are servants, they do not consider their masters when they do things."

Qin Su then asked, "What is Su Su?"

With his sweet and soft daughter nestled in his arms, so small and adorable, asking questions, Emperor Jingxi's heart softened completely. He said gently, "Susu is the eldest princess of Dayu, my first daughter, and the most noble child in the world."

Qin Su spoke clearly: "Since I am so noble, shouldn't they listen to me? Which is more important, the one I believe is correct, or the one you decide?"

Emperor Jingxi was surprised by her words and chuckled, "You're right, the emperor's decision is more important. But Su Su is still young, and what she thinks is right may not necessarily be right, so she needs someone to guide her."

Qin Su: "What if their guidance is wrong?"

Emperor Jingxi was speechless for a moment before saying, "Then there is me. My decision is definitely the right one."

Qin Su wanted to say that was not necessarily true, but when she looked at Emperor Jingxi's proud appearance, she felt that she might get her cheek pinched if she said it, so she thought about it and didn't say it.

Emperor Jingxi asked, "So instead of taking a proper afternoon nap, what are you doing in the Imperial Garden?"

Qin Su: "I'm thinking about something."

Emperor Jingxi chuckled and teased her, "Oh, what important national matter requires the princess to sacrifice her afternoon nap to ponder it?"

Qin Su realized she was being teased and glared at Emperor Jingxi.

Her eyes resembled Emperor Jingxi's; both had slightly upturned corners and full, almond-shaped eyes with prominent, non-narrow double eyelids.

Emperor Jingxi, having held a high position for many years, possessed an imposing aura and deep-set eyes, while Qin Su, being young and with her features not yet fully developed, had rounder eyes. When she stared at people with such wide eyes, she didn't appear fierce, but rather beautiful and watery.

Emperor Jingxi was charmed by her cuteness and couldn't help but pat her head again.

"I've felt like I've forgotten something these past few days," Qin Su said honestly. "Or maybe I'm missing something, but I just can't remember what it is."

Emperor Jingxi asked, "Is there something you want?"

Qin Su shook her head, looking distressed, and said, "It's worthless."

Emperor Jingxi frowned, looking at his daughter in his arms. A thought struck him: was Qin Su feeling lonely?

Besides Qin Su, there were only two infants in the palace. She had no playmates and had never played with children her own age. He was also busy with political affairs and could not spend much time with Qin Su.

Perhaps we should select a few lively children from the families of our ministers to enter the palace and play with Qin Su.

As Emperor Jingxi was pondering, Qin Su suddenly asked, "Father just said that I am the most noble child in the world, but I am Father's daughter. So who is more noble, me or Father?"

Emperor Jingxi was both amused and exasperated, not expecting that she still remembered this incident and even compared herself to him.

But he still instructed, "The emperor's position is the most noble, possessing the whole world and ruling the country, but you are my daughter, the second most noble person in the world."

Qin Su tilted her head, and the little tuft of hair on her head swayed slightly. She said, "Second place? Can I not be second?"

These words were utterly treasonous, and the kneeling palace servants dared not even breathe. Even Liang Danxin bowed his head deeply, not daring to utter a sound.

Emperor Jingxi was not offended, but instead laughed and said, "Then does Su Su want to be the emperor?"

Qin Su asked, "Does an emperor have to be like my father?"

Emperor Jingxi nodded and teased her, "What do you think?"

"It's not good." Qin Su wrinkled her nose and turned her head away in disgust. "It requires getting up early and going to bed late, and there are so many memorials to review. It's too hard. I don't want to do it."

Emperor Jingxi laughed heartily.
