Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Xu Shishi was taken aback.

Only when she faced the beauty she had just secretly admired did she realize how devastating it was.

Amidst the fragrant vanity, a beautiful woman smiles under the lamp; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she's breathtakingly beautiful.

What's more, the other party is so generous and considerate.

If someone of the opposite sex said these words, it would be enough to make someone's heart flutter on the spot.

Xu Shishi unconsciously clenched the gift box packaging, and said dryly, "Thank you."

Qin Su stood up to fix her hair, and upon hearing this, she glanced at him from the corner of her upturned eyes: "No need for thanks, just don't tease me too much."

With a "boom," Xu Shishi felt as if she had been struck by lightning.

She stammered, "W-what did you say?"

Qin Su pondered for a moment: "Isn't that how it's described? I think that's how it's described online, like 'tea talk'?"

Xu Shishi: "..."

She wasn't afraid of being criticized or looked down upon, but... but... but...

How could Qin Su give her a gift and say sweet words one second, and then expose her shameful behavior the next?

How can there be such a person in this world?

Xu Shishi was shocked and embarrassed, her mind in turmoil.

She had never been in such an embarrassing and awkward situation in the first half of her life; she felt as ashamed as if she had been stripped naked and displayed in public.

She almost wanted to run away immediately, and even had the urge to quit the show.

But Qin Su remained remarkably calm and composed.

She didn't look at Xu Shishi, but instead combed her hair in front of the mirror.

Her long, jet-black hair, smooth as satin, cascaded through the comb and fell onto her snow-white shoulders, the stark contrast of black and white so striking it was dizzying.

Xu Shishi took a deep breath, and her fractured expression gradually relaxed.

Filming is not currently underway; Xue Jianxing is still taking a shower, and it's just the two of them.

Qin Su probably had no intention of pursuing the matter.

The room was quiet, with only the faint sound of water coming from the bathroom.

Xu Shishi picked up the face mask that had fallen on the table, threw it into the trash can, and remained silent for a moment.

"I thought you didn't know," she said, finding it difficult to speak. "After all, you never seemed to get angry. So you..."

So Qin Su saw everything all along?

What would she think of herself?

In Qin Su's eyes, was he just a clown, someone she merely watched coldly and disdained?

Xu Shishi curled her fingers and dug into her palm, every guess in her mind making her feel ashamed.

"Why would you ask that?" Qin Su glanced at her, surprised. "Was I being too polite when I was being sarcastic? Did I give you the impression that I knew nothing about it?"

Xu Shishi: "..."

That seems to be true.

She whispered, "Since you know, you don't mind?"

Qin Su calmly replied, "It's alright, after all, you've never really gotten anything out of me."

For some reason, Xu Shishi instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

Since things had already come to this point, she decided to give up and stop pretending to be an innocent and naive girl.

She admitted, "Sometimes I do it on purpose, but sometimes I'm just used to being a 'green tea' and can't control myself. I'm sorry for using those 'green tea' words on you before..."

Xu Shishi paused for a moment, then asked, "Do you really hate me?"

Qin Su: "Are you teasing me in a different way now?"

Xu Shishi paused, reflecting on what she had just said: "..."

"I didn't," she said, unable to defend herself. "I wasn't pretending to be pitiful this time."

Qin Su laughed.

For the first time, Xu Shishi felt a headache coming on from her own "green tea" nature: "I really... I really genuinely want to ask."

Qin Su smiled and hummed in agreement, not wanting to dwell on the matter.

"You asked me if I hate you," Qin Su said slowly.

Xu Shishi, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, held her breath again.

Qin Su then asked, "So, what do you think is about you that I would like to like?"

No.

Xu Shishi's heart sank.

She knew the answer herself without needing anyone to reply.

Xu Shishi belatedly realized how ridiculous it was.

She had never shown any kindness to Qin Su, yet now she inexplicably asked Qin Su if he disliked her.

Qin Su was being polite by not scolding her, yet she shamelessly developed a secret expectation because of Qin Su's unusual attitude.

"But I wouldn't say I hate it," Qin Su's voice rang out, as melodious as heavenly music, "I'm just indifferent."

Xu Shishi suddenly looked up at her.

Qin Su put down the comb, stood up, and looked down at her with her arms crossed, scrutinizing her.

"After all, it takes effort to hate someone, and I'm not going to waste my energy on a little green tea like you."

She always holds her chin up slightly. Before, Xu Shishi only thought she was pretentious, but now she feels that she is adorably arrogant.

"Just stop trying to frame me in the future, or I won't be so polite to you."

Xu Shishi stared at her silently for a few seconds, then smiled at Qin Su.

"good."

Xue Jianxing came out of the bathroom and felt that the atmosphere was strange.

She frowned, looked at Qin Su, then at Xu Shishi, and seeing that they both looked normal and there was nothing unusual about them, she thought she was overthinking it.

She asked, "Is it time to send the text message?"

"Hmm." Xu Shishi hugged her pillow, leaned back on the bed and looked at her phone. "There's still more than half an hour left."

Xue Jianxing: "Then I'll hurry up and pack."

They needed to go to the small lounge next door to film while they were texting, and she couldn't very well go there with her hair all wet.

Moreover, even though it was after showering and before bed, the female guests tacitly agreed to still draw their eyebrows and apply lipstick.

Xu Shishi said, "There's enough time. You can blow-dry your hair and then do your eyebrows."

Xue Jianxing sighed and casually remarked, "Su Su is so much better; she doesn't have to fake a bare face like we do."

She regretted it as soon as she said it.

Xue Jianxing simply didn't want to get involved in other people's verbal sparring, but in reality, he was fully aware of Xu Shishi's behavior over the past two days.

Knowing that Xu Shishi liked Gu Chiyan, she regarded the exceptionally beautiful Qin Su as a rival and would occasionally use words to stab Qin Su in the back.

She didn't care when everyone disliked Qin Su a couple of days ago, but after interacting with Qin Su today, her opinion has changed.

Fearing that Xu Shishi might take her anger out on Qin Su after hearing what she said, she quickly looked at Xu Shishi in the mirror and added, "It's mainly me; Shishi has good skin too."

Unexpectedly, Xu Shishi didn't even flinch: "I'm the same as you, probably because I'm anemic, so my lip color isn't good."

She added jokingly, "But we are the normal kind, while Su Su is the kind that Nuwa meticulously crafted."

Qin Su replied without any modesty, "Thank you for the compliment. I can share my skincare methods with you later."

Xu Shishi moved closer to her, her voice rising at the end, and said with surprise, "Really? I was just about to ask you but I was too embarrassed to."

Qin Su clicked her tongue: "You actually know how to be embarrassed?"

Xue Jianxing was surprised to hear this. After thinking about Xu Shishi's words carefully, he realized that there was nothing superfluous about them.

Seriously? Xu Shishi suddenly changed her gender?
