Chapter 114 Princess for a Peace Marriage × Crown Prince's Substitute 2

In a secluded courtyard of the Crown Prince's residence, unaffected by the hustle and bustle of the residence, Yan Wu went to bed early.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I fell asleep, I was plunged into a beautiful dream.

Inside the steamy bath, the soft, splashing sound of water could be heard coming from inside the red gauze curtains.

The man lifted the gauze curtain and walked in step by step, standing five feet away from the edge of the pool, looking expressionlessly at the woman in the bath.

The woman in the pool had her back to him. Her skin was fair and translucent, and her black hair hung smoothly down her back, with the ends submerged in the steaming water. Just her back view was enough to evoke all sorts of fantasies.

The woman seemed to hear a noise behind her, and turned around in fright. She saw a tall man standing by the pool, and gasped as she clutched her chest.

"Husband, how...how did you get in?"

Yan Wu's gaze swept over her from head to toe without any attempt to look away, scrutinizing her inch by inch. Yan Chaoxi was frightened by his unbridled gaze and couldn't help but quietly take a step back.

Her arms were slender, and though she tried to cover them, she couldn't quite manage it; the beautiful scenery was completely exposed. She bit her lip helplessly, her face flushed with embarrassment. Her bright, clear eyes looked at him, and she pleaded in a soft voice, "Husband, please go out first, okay? I... I'll be done soon."

"Husband?" Yan Wu murmured the word to himself.

Yan Chaoxi lowered her head shyly, "Does my husband not like this title? We just got married today, and I don't know my husband's preferences. If my husband doesn't like it, I will change the title."

Yan Wu surveyed the bathing area and, sure enough, saw the character for "double happiness" pasted on the walls and red silk hanging around them. When he looked at the woman in the water, his eyes darkened almost imperceptibly.

With his long fingers loosening his belt, Yan Wu stepped into the pool. Amidst Yan Chaoxi's panicked expression, he forcefully embraced her waist, his rough fingertips caressing her delicate waist, his hot breath washing over her.

"Um……"

An overwhelming, possessive aura enveloped her.

"No..." the woman in his arms pleaded softly, like a spark that ignited the fire in the man's heart.

The woman lay limply in his arms, and all the evil in Yan Wu's heart was drawn to her clean yet dreamy eyes. His large hands kneaded her wantonly, and his movements became increasingly unrestrained.

He wanted nothing more than to crush the woman in his arms, to watch her cry, to watch her beg for mercy.

"Why are you crying? Isn't this your wedding night?"

"Waaaaah... Be gentle..."

Overwhelmed with emotion, the woman couldn't help but whisper two words, "Your Highness...be gentle."

Yan Wu paused, then moved even more wildly, bending down as if to punish her by biting her soft, white shoulder. "Look carefully, I'm not some prince."

Yan Chaoxi opened her eyes wide in response.

My name is Yan Wu.

...

As dawn approached, Yan Wu suddenly woke up, recalling the dream he had just had, and felt that he had truly gone mad.

Upon seeing the Crown Prince get married, he even dreamt of getting married himself.

However, thinking of that face in his dream and the soft moans he heard, he couldn't help but wonder if the woman in his dream really existed. He didn't remember having such a beautiful woman in the Crown Prince's harem, nor had he ever seen her.

Yan Wu cleared his mind of all the random thoughts, fetched a bucket of water, and poured it over his head while shirtless, finally calming down his anger.

On the other side, Yan Chaoxi also woke up. She thought it would be difficult to seduce Yan Wu into an intimate relationship in her dream, but she didn't expect to succeed on the first try. However, she felt that this person was rather shady and difficult to deal with.

To prepare herself for tomorrow, Yan Chaoxi quickly went back to sleep.

The next morning, an angry shout came from the main house next door.

"You slut! It's you? How dare you seduce me!"

The sound of a slap was heard.

Then came Qingmei's tearful plea for mercy, "Your Highness, spare me! I didn't seduce you..."

The crown prince was furious. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered, but last night was the night he had been looking forward to for so long.

Princess Dongqi was incredibly beautiful. He saw her at the welcoming banquet and immediately wanted her. He begged for an imperial decree and waited so long for their wedding night, only to find that he had slept with a maid. How could he not be furious?

"Where is the concubine? Where is she?!"

Upon hearing the sound, Yan Chaoxi slowly got up, dressed, and headed towards the main house. In just a few steps, her expression had changed, becoming pitiful and heartbroken.

Kneeling before the Crown Prince, Yan Chaoxi spoke through tears, “Your Highness, please don’t blame Qingmei. Last night, Your Highness returned to the door drunk, and Qingmei kindly came to help you, but Your Highness mistook her for me… I was too weak to stop him, and Qingmei dared not resist, which ultimately led to this terrible mistake.”

Qingmei didn't know why the princess said that, so she joined in with sobbing, "Your Highness, what the princess said is true, but I don't regret it. It is my blessing to serve Your Highness."

The prince frowned, trying hard to recall, but the memories in his mind were fragmented and couldn't be pieced together, indicating that he had indeed been quite drunk last night. If anyone was to blame, it was only himself.

Looking at Yan Chaoxi's tear-streaked, heartbroken face, the Crown Prince felt a pang of guilt. It was supposed to be a joyous wedding night, but he had favored someone else in front of her. It was only natural to feel sad.

The Crown Prince helped Yan Chaoxi up, saying, "I was drunk last night and made a mistake. I feel ashamed of myself. Let's make it up to each other tonight on our wedding night."

Ha! You still want to make up for it? You didn't even get to drain me dry last night when you were with Qingmei until midnight?

"Your Highness, what are your plans for Qingmei? Qingmei followed me all the way from Dongqi to Daliang, and I have treated her like a sister. Since Your Highness has taken her in, why not give her a proper title?"

Qingmei couldn't help but reveal her anticipation.

The Crown Prince wanted to say what good arrangements there were, such as making her a maidservant. With so many women in his mansion, where would he find a place for a maidservant who had come as part of his dowry? But he couldn't bear to disappoint Yan Chaoxi.

"Then let's bestow upon him the title of Fengyi."

Fengyi was the lowest rank in the Eastern Palace, but it was enough to make Qingmei happy. "Thank you, Your Highness!"

Yan Chaoxi smiled and said, "Thank you, Your Highness."

Qingmei is clearly restless. With Qingmei around, she can help absorb a lot of the hatred from the women in the Crown Prince's harem, so she can deal with them one by one.

The prince held her hand tightly, thinking that since he hadn't been able to touch her last night, he might as well take advantage of her now.

Yan Chaoxi subtly withdrew her hand and gave a curtsy. "Your Highness, it's getting late. I must go and pay my respects to the Crown Princess. Please make yourself at home."

The crown prince glanced at the time; it was indeed getting late. "Go," he said.

He thought for a moment and then reminded her, "The Crown Princess is rather spoiled. If she makes things difficult for you, please be more tolerant and avoid any arguments."

The Crown Princess is the daughter of the General of the Northern Garrison, who holds a third of the military power. Relying on her family background, the Crown Princess has always acted domineeringly. Yan Chaoxi is merely a princess sent for a political marriage, and upon arriving in Daliang, she will have to be mindful of everyone's attitude. The Crown Prince knows that the Crown Princess is unhappy about his taking a concubine, and he will definitely vent her anger on Yan Chaoxi soon.

He said that in order to make Yan Chaoxi swallow her anger.

A mocking glint flashed in Yan Chaoxi's eyes.
