Zhuo Qing nodded angrily, "Who else could it be but that old hag? If we hadn't failed to find any substantial evidence back then, and if the Marquis hadn't rushed back in time to save her life, would she still be alive today?"
"The young master followed the Marquis to the battlefield at the age of thirteen, and at fifteen he made meritorious contributions and received the Emperor's reward. Back then he was a dashing young man, and many women wanted to marry him!"
No wonder the people in the Marquis's mansion said such hypocritical things in front of Xie Qinglan; they were afraid that Xie Qinglan would suddenly go crazy and kill them without mercy.
Ye Chaoxi then asked, "How old is the young master now?"
"Twenty-six."
"Oh, I'm seventeen. The prince is nine years older than me!"
"Zhuo Qing, shut up." Hearing this, Xie Qinglan couldn't help but shout to stop him.
If we keep talking, he'll not only have a bad temper, but he's also old.
Zhuo Qing scratched his head, finally noticing his young master's dark expression, and wondered what he had said wrong.
The three returned to Tinglan Garden, where Doctor Xue was already waiting.
Ye Chaoxi recognized him; he was the doctor who examined Xie Qinglan's pulse after Xie Qinglan vomited blood yesterday.
"Xie Qinglan, it's time for acupuncture!" Doctor Xue glanced at the two people not far away and muttered, "They're quite a sight to behold, what a pity, a beautiful flower stuck in cow dung."
Xie Qinglan nodded, and Ye Chaoxi pushed him into the room. Xie Qinglan used his arms to support himself in the wheelchair and moved to the bed.
"Can I stay? I know a little medicine, I can help you take a look." Ye Chaoxi looked at Xie Qinglan expectantly and asked softly.
Xie Qinglan didn't want the ugly scars on her legs to be exposed to her eyes. "No, get out."
"You are my husband. I want to know how badly your injuries are. Can't I even show you some concern?" Ye Chaoxi said softly.
Xie Qinglan couldn't resist her pleading tone and nodded in agreement.
Doctor Xue walked over cheerfully, "That's right, she only asked to stay because she cares about you. You always have a cold face, like an ice block in an ice cellar. Be careful, or the young lady won't even talk to you anymore."
Xie Qinglan paused. Had he just given her a cold look?
Doctor Xue opened his medicine box, took out silver needles, lifted Xie Qinglan's clothes and rolled up her trousers to reveal two hideous scars on her legs, and then pressed on various parts of her legs.
"Are you conscious?"
Xie Qinglan slowly shook her head.
Doctor Xue looked grave and sighed, “Although the poison in your legs has been cleared, the wound was too deep and the tendons were severed. I have been giving you acupuncture for a month. If you still have no feeling in your legs, they may not be able to be saved. You have to be prepared.”
"I'll give you acupuncture for another seven days, plus a medicinal bath. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. I'm telling you in advance, even if you regain sensation, you won't be able to walk like a normal person."
Doctor Xue's words plunged everyone in the room into despair.
Xie Qinglan clenched her hands tightly at her sides, her knuckles white with tension. After a long while, she finally exhaled, "Alright, thank you for your trouble. If there is no improvement after seven days, then I will let you leave as agreed."
Doctor Xue grinned happily, "I like people like you who keep their word, but next time you can't just kidnap me without a word."
He cursed the kid inwardly.
Given his renowned reputation, he had been traveling extensively for years, and countless high-ranking officials and nobles sought his medical help but could not find him. However, he owed Xie Qinglan a favor from years ago. When Xie Qinglan was poisoned, he stepped in to repay the favor and painstakingly developed an antidote, pulling him back from the brink of death.
Unfortunately, the research and development of the antidote took too long, and Xie Qinglan lost her sight as a result.
This time, Xie Qinglan suffered a serious leg injury, and they directly sent people to arrest him to treat his leg, showing absolutely no manners!
While cursing inwardly, Doctor Xue took out silver needles to perform acupuncture on Xie Qinglan.
Ye Chaoxi, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up, "Let me see."
“Alright! I remember the young lady said she knew medicine yesterday? Come, come and take a look, gain some experience, and learn more.” Doctor Xue made room for her.
Ye Chaoxi stepped forward and palpated Xie Qinglan's lower leg. The injuries on Xie Qinglan's calves were all minor superficial wounds; what truly made him numb were the injuries on his knees.
She counted the antidote and recovery pills in her spatial storage; there were still plenty, enough for Xie Qinglan to heal her legs. As for her eyes, they would probably take quite a while to recover.
During the palpation, several treatment methods came to mind for Ye Chaoxi. She didn't realize that although her adoptive father was just a village doctor with some medical skills who hadn't taught her these things, it was as if she had a huge knowledge base in her mind, with hundreds and thousands of medical techniques and prescriptions at her disposal.
She withdrew her hand. "I have a way to heal your legs and eyes."
She spoke gently yet firmly.
"What?!" Zhuo Qing exclaimed first, "Can it really cure it?"
"But even Doctor Xue is helpless in this matter. Eleven years ago, he said that the prince's eyes were too badly affected by the residual poison and could not be restored. Can it really be cured?"
“That’s right, Xie Qinglan’s leg injury is too severe. Even I’m not confident I can help him stand up. He’s been blind for eleven years, so there’s no hope for him now.” Doctor Xue looked at Ye Chaoxi with suspicion. “Do you have any ideas?”
Xie Qinglan's dark eyes, as deep and still as a still pool, also looked at Ye Chaoxi. His face was expressionless, but his breathing became a little heavy.
This was the first time in eleven years that Xie Qinglan had heard someone say that his eyes could be cured.
"We'll treat the legs first with internal medicine and external acupuncture. It will take a long time for the eyes to regain their sight; we can't rush that."
