Chapter 349 After divorcing his wife, the general regretted it.

Xu Heyi rarely talked about so many topics with women. The two talked about everything from astronomy to geography, from the past dynasties to the present.

Nan Zhi would respond to every word he said, and some of her views even surprised him.

Xu Heyi had lived for over twenty years, and this was the first time he had met a woman who could understand him. He was very happy, and they talked for a long time. When he got thirsty, he quickly called someone in to get him some water.

The servant poured the first cup of tea, and Xu Heyi immediately handed it to Nanzhi.

Nanzhi rolled up her sleeves and reached out to take it.

After Nanzhi drank the tea, a sudden gust of wind blew outside, and the sky darkened.

It's going to rain.

She frowned slightly, wondering if the general would be able to come and pick her up.

Nanzhi was worried, and drank cup after cup of tea, not knowing how many she had.

By the time she realized something was wrong, it was too late.

Xu Heyi also drank a lot, but for some reason, the more he drank, the thirstier and hotter he became.

His face was as red as if he were drunk, and Nanzhi quickly stopped him.

Xu Heyi wanted to pour more tea, but Nanzhi stopped him from pouring.

He was initially puzzled, until he saw Nanzhi write on the paper: "There's something wrong with this tea."

He then realized what was happening, his expression changed, and he got up to call for help.

But the servants who were supposed to be waiting outside didn't come in for a long time.

Xu He wanted to go check on the situation, but the door was locked from the outside by someone, and the windows were also closed, so they couldn't get out.

His body and mind seemed to be out of his control.

He started tearing at his clothes, his breath coming out incredibly hot.

Nan Zhi was the same; although she didn't pull at her clothes, her little face was flushed, her eyes were watery, and she was restless.

Seeing Xu He walking towards her in a daze, she was so frightened that she kept backing away.

Nanzhi couldn't speak, and when she picked up a pen to write, her fingers were sore and weak, and the words she wrote were crooked and incoherent.

As Xu Heyi drew closer, she could only dodge while gesturing to him.

Xu Heyi, who had lost his mind, couldn't see any of this. He only felt that Nanzhi was smiling at him and calling him over.

He unbuttoned his outer robe and pounced on her.

Soon, pitiful screams echoed from the room.

An assassin appeared in the military camp, attempting to steal secrets. When Mu Yao went to investigate, the assassin suddenly committed suicide by swallowing poison.

Mu Yao ordered his men to continue the investigation, and then planned to go back to pick up Nan Zhi. Just then, a sudden downpour began outside.

Mu Yao originally wanted to wait until the rain stopped before going, but suddenly felt very uneasy.

The thought of Nan Zhi being alone with Xu Heyi, even though Xu Heyi wouldn't do anything to Nan Zhi, made him anxious and impatient as he recalled how happily the two of them had chatted that day.

Mu Yao had someone bring over a horse.

Yuan Heng said, "General, the rain is very heavy. You should wait until it stops before going back."

"No need."

Mu Yao nimbly mounted his horse, grabbed the reins, and galloped away.

His figure quickly disappeared into the rain.

Yuan Heng was puzzled. Why was he in such a hurry to go back?

When Mu Yao arrived at the bamboo house, the coachman was nowhere to be found, and the carriage stood there all alone.

He hurried into the house and saw the door was closed. He assumed it was to prevent rain from splashing in and didn't think much of it.

He pushed open the door, and just as he was about to call for help, he looked up and saw that something was wrong inside the room.

The ground was a mess, and Xu He lay on the ground with his clothes disheveled, his cheeks flushed and his forehead covered in blood.

There were many broken tiles next to him, with bloodstains that hadn't dried yet. Xu Heyi must have been injured by these things.

Mu Yao subconsciously looked for Nan Zhi, but there was no trace of her in the house.

He strode in and saw Xu He holding a piece of tattered purple skirt in his hand.

Mu Yao recognized the fabric; it was from Nan Zhi's body.

He grabbed Xu Heyi and loudly questioned her, "Where is Nanzhi? Where did you take her?"

Xu He felt hot all over and had a terrible headache. He had no idea where Nan Zhi had gone and could only shake his head helplessly.

"Someone...someone put...something in our tea."

Mu Yao tightened his grip even more: "What medicine?"

"Spring...aphrodisiac."

The two simple words left Mu Yao completely stunned.

He was stunned for a long time, as if struck by lightning, before he came to his senses.

He tossed Jiang Xuhe aside and got up to look for any trace of Nan Zhi's departure.

He didn't realize she must have jumped out of the window until he saw the same purple fabric near the smashed window.

He climbed out of the window and searched along the way.

Nanzhi appears to be being followed; there are also other people's footprints on the muddy road.

Judging from the size of the footprints, it belongs to a man.

Mu Yao's face was tense, and the rain splashed so hard that he could barely open his eyes, but he still braved the heavy rain and rushed into the bamboo forest.

Nan Zhi may have run into the bamboo forest and accidentally tripped and fell. There were some bloodstains on the ground, and Mu Yao's heart was gripped tightly once again.

He followed the trail of blood, but the rain grew heavier and heavier, washing away the blood completely.

"Nanzhi, Nanzhi..."

He kept calling her name, hoping she would respond.

But he searched for a very long time and still couldn't find her.

His heart uncontrollably slid into some kind of abyss.

She couldn't speak, she was injured, she was drugged, the rain was so heavy, the road was so muddy and dangerous, and someone was chasing her—would she…?

Mu Yao had never been so anxious. He sent out a signal, and soon his guards arrived from all directions.

His jaw tightened, and his voice was grim: "Go find the lady, find her by any means necessary!"

The guards scattered.

Mu Yao didn't stop either.

Finally, he found the footprints and, following the trail, discovered a cave.

A man's voice came from inside.

"You bitch, how dare you hit me? I'll rape you and then kill you."

"Ah ah..."

A hoarse, incoherent voice.

It is Nan Zhi.

Mu Yao's eyes sharpened, and he rushed inside.

Inside the cave, the man had been slapped by Nanzhi, and several marks were still faintly visible on his face.

Nanzhi, on the other hand, picked up a stone from somewhere and held it, staring at him warily.

However, the two were too far apart in strength, and Nanzhi was injured, so she couldn't beat him at all. She could only limp along, holding the stone, and keep retreating.

The man rushed forward, angrily grabbed Nanzhi, and was about to tear her clothes when he was struck by a tremendous force from his left and sent flying.

The man slammed into the wall, causing it to dent and crack in several places.

The man slid down the wall and looked at Mu Yao, whose aura was violent and who was walking towards him step by step like a bloodthirsty demon. His pupils contracted in fear.

He tried to get up and run away, but as soon as he moved, heavy fists kept pounding down on him.

The man's mouth and nose were covered in blood, and he couldn't even beg for mercy. He was beaten to death like that.

Mu Yao was still angry and wanted to beat him up again, when a voice came from the side...
