Chapter 450 Younger Brothers Are Hard to Coax (43)

Just as her foot was about to be crushed, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by a large hand.

Nanzhi was pulled back and nestled in a warm embrace.

She looked up and saw a familiar face.

Jiangye.

He appeared behind her without her noticing.

He seemed to be there on a business trip, dressed in a formal suit, a crisp suit jacket, and a white shirt buttoned all the way up to the top, his Adam's apple half-hidden, half-revealed.

It had only been less than a month since they parted, but he really seemed like a completely different person.

His eyelids were deeply creased, and when he looked down at her, his eyes were dark and silent, giving off a strong sense of pressure.

For a moment, Nanzhi had a strange feeling.

He had never forgotten her.

He hates her. Why did she treat him like that?

Nanzhi guiltily withdrew from his embrace, bowing her head as she thanked him.

After saying that, she picked up her suitcase and was about to leave when he suddenly called her back.

"Excuse me..." he paused, then asked her, "Do we know each other?"

Nan Zhi stopped in her tracks without turning around. Her voice was calm, without the slightest hesitation: "I don't know her."

Jiang Ye stood there silently as he watched Nan Zhi get into the car with her suitcase.

Nanzhi could see him staring at the car from inside.

She felt uneasy.

"003, does he already remember me?"

【Ah, Zhizhi, I...I might...ding ding ding...】

A sudden, piercing noise filled her mind. Nanzhi frowned as she listened. The noise stopped shortly afterward, but no matter how she called 003, there was no response.

My mind was a blank, there was no system mall, no luck value reminder, nothing at all.

What a terrible system.

Nan Zhi was stunned for a moment, suppressing the urge to curse.

The car arrived at the hotel, and the staff helped carry the luggage. After Nanzhi completed her identity information, she took the elevator, walked to the room door, swiped her card, and went inside.

As soon as she entered, she was immediately drawn to the classical Chinese style.

This hotel only opened in the last year and isn't very well-known yet. She booked it after seeing the decor online.

Nanzhi had originally planned to have 003 check if the room was safe, but now that 003 wasn't responding, she had to check it herself.

Only after confirming there were no cameras did she feel relieved enough to take off her coat and go to the bathroom to shower.

Little did she know that shortly after she entered the bathroom, someone swiped the door and walked in.

The bathroom has a bathtub, and the glass is transparent, allowing you to see the night view outside.

Nanzhi didn't like soaking in hotel bathtubs, always feeling they weren't clean. So after showering, she felt completely relaxed, wrapped in a towel, humming a tune as she walked out with light steps.

As soon as I stepped out, I saw Jiang Ye sitting on the sofa drinking red wine.

He swirled his wine glass, looked up at her with a detached gaze, as if he had been there for a long time.

"So happy?"

The curve of his lips was somewhat mocking, and the red wine in his glass looked like blood, which was somewhat eerie at that moment.

Nan Zhi's pupils narrowed as she looked at the angle from which he was sitting, which allowed him to see the bathroom.

She then remembered that the bathroom was transparent.

She had been looking out at the night view, and while showering, the steam blurred the glass, so she had no idea there was another person in the room.

And this is still Jiang Ye.

When did he arrive, and how did he know she lived here?

She was so surprised that she took a few steps back, causing her bath towel to slip off her body.

She grabbed it quickly, and just as she was about to cover herself, a large hand ripped it away.

The bath towel fell to the ground, and she instinctively covered her private parts and the location of her tattoo.

The hand covering her abdomen was easily pulled away.

"I'll ask again."

Jiang Ye gently held her hand, his voice soft and slow. His deep eyes were fixed on the tattoo on her abdomen, and a gentle yet somewhat chilling smile played on his lips.

Do we know each other?

Over the years, Jiang Ye has always been obedient, gentle, and patient in front of her; he seems to never get angry.

But Nan Zhi didn't know that his malice was already buried deep in his bones; he was just too good at hiding it in front of her.

The overhead light shone down from his side, and he was backlit, half of his face was shrouded in shadow, making it impossible to see his expression.

Although Nanzhi's hair was wrapped in a towel, water was still dripping from her exposed temples.

Water droplets splattered down her cheeks and landed on her feet, causing her toes to curl uncomfortably.

Fortunately, the room wasn't cold, but the situation was rather awkward and dangerous.

"...Can I get dressed before answering your question?" She needed time to think of a solution.

Jiang Ye chuckled softly, a cool smile playing on his lips: "What do you think?"

That means there's no room for negotiation.

Nan Zhi pretended not to understand and bent down to pick up the bath towel, but he grabbed her waist.

His chin was lifted by a strong force. He stared at her, a thin red tinge appearing at the corners of his eyes. His dark, cold eyes were filled with layers of shimmering light. He should have been angry, but he looked like he had been bullied so badly that he was about to cry.

In a hoarse voice, almost through gritted teeth, he asked again, "One last time, do we know each other?"

Jiang Ye's mind flashed back to how she had come out of the bathroom, humming happily. Was she really that happy to be away from him?

In an instant, the anger and pain in his heart grew wildly like weeds, and he wished she could feel the same pain and suffering as him.

But he still held back.

He absolutely needed an answer.
