"Then why aren't you eating?"
The little zombie said pitifully, "I can't eat because I can't see the professor."
Ji Yuan looked at her, his eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't say anything.
"Professor, I'm giving this back to you..." The little zombie tugged at his sleeve, handed him the iPad, and looked at him with fear and pity. "Please don't lock me up there, okay?"
Even if Nanzhi didn't mention it, Ji Yuan wouldn't lock her up again.
Looking at Nanzhi like this, Ji Yuan's eyes darkened.
Zhang Lu, seeing what he was thinking, quickly said, "Professor Ji, there's a storage room next to your lab. I'll have someone pack up the things there, and we can lock her up there."
Upon hearing the word "closed," Nan Zhi clearly resisted, her whole demeanor shifting like a cat with its fur standing on end, staring at Zhang Lu with a wary expression.
She shrank back, no longer approaching Ji Yuan, and curled up in the corner, covering her head.
Ji Yuan gave Zhang Lu a cold look, and Zhang Lu pursed her lips, not daring to say anything more.
"It's not closed," Ji Yuan said gently. "Don't be afraid."
Nanzhi then quietly raised her head, but the fear on her face had not yet subsided. She was still nervously clutching her skirt, not daring to get close to him.
Knowing she was timid, Ji Yuan tried to keep his voice down: "Do you want to live with me?"
Nanzhi answered without hesitation: "I want it."
"Then you'll stay with me from now on."
"Okay." Nanzhi nodded heavily.
Silly, clumsy, yet inexplicably adorable.
Ji Yuan looked at the smile on her face, and a slight smile appeared on his lips as well.
Although she knew that Nan Zhi was just a zombie and posed no threat, Zhang Lu still felt very uncomfortable watching this scene.
How could Ji Yuan agree to let her live with him?
He was so gentle with her.
He should have just locked her up inside; she'd get used to it eventually.
Zhang Lu thought this, but dared not show the slightest dissatisfaction on her face.
They even generously asked, "Professor Ji, should we prepare some food for her?"
Ji Yuan's gaze towards her finally softened and returned to normal.
"need."
Ji Yuan felt that before Nan Zhi's genes were discovered, she absolutely could not be harmed, so it would be better to keep her under his watchful eye.
Back at the villa, Nanzhi seemed much more relaxed, happily throwing herself onto the sofa and rolling around on it.
Ji Yuan closed the door and looked at her excited expression. Strangely, he wasn't as angry as usual; on the contrary, he felt a bit pleased.
That must be the reason why she is so valuable.
After Nanzhi finished her meal, Ji Yuan originally wanted to have the red wine on the first floor moved away, but seeing her eager look, he suddenly had an idea.
"Want a drink?"
Nanzhi nodded.
Ji Yuan reached out and took the wine bottle down. "Hold it like this, learn from me."
Nanzhi mimicked him, reaching for a bottle of red wine before turning to look at him, silently asking what to do next.
Ji Yuan picked up the wine dispenser from the side, put it on the bottle stopper, and deliberately slowed down as he explained the steps.
With a pop, the stopper was pulled out.
"Have you learned it?"
Nanzhi tried hard to recall the steps he had described, and then took the wine dispenser he handed her.
At first, she didn't know how to put it on, and her movements were very clumsy.
Ji Yuan subconsciously reached out to help her, his warm fingertips touching the cold back of her hand. He paused, momentarily stunned.
His heart skipped a beat.
But she knew nothing of this, and turned to look at him with a blank and innocent expression: "Professor, what's next?"
Ji Yuan moved his hand away and casually instructed, "Like this..."
Nanzhi seems to have become smarter. In the past, she would have to watch the videos three or four times before she could understand them, but today she only needed to be taught twice to understand them.
As the cork was pulled out, she jumped up and down with joy, holding the bottle.
The liquid inside sprayed out, splashing all over her, and some also landed on Ji Yuan's face.
He frowned slightly, and was about to wipe his face clean with a handkerchief when Nanzhi suddenly reached out and dipped some of the red wine on his face into her mouth.
Ji Yuan's eyes narrowed slightly as he watched her stick out her soft tongue and suck on her hand. As she tilted her head, she revealed a pure and innocent yet charming and alluring demeanor.
"Professor, this is delicious! I want more."
She didn't understand anything. Just as Ji Yuan saw her reach out to hug him and lick the red wine off his face, he quickly came to his senses and pushed her away.
"I'm going to take a shower. You stay on the first floor and don't run around."
He turned and strode away, only realizing he'd forgotten to handcuff her once he was in the bathroom.
Nothing should happen, right?
The warm water from the showerhead fell on his short, dark hair. He raised his hand to wipe the water droplets from his face and looked down at the marks on his collarbone.
The traces had faded considerably, but upon seeing them, certain images would still come to mind, causing Ji Yuan's eyes to grow even more somber.
Fearing that Nanzhi would cause trouble, Ji Yuan quickly finished his shower and came out. It was quiet outside, without any sound. Ji Yuan saw that Nanzhi was sleeping on the sofa. Just when he thought she was being well-behaved, he went downstairs and saw that the wine shelf was piled with red wine bottles.
The wine inside was all drunk; she drank nearly half of the wine he had treasured for decades.
Ji Yuan's face darkened to the point of murder.
He strode toward the zombie on the sofa, his voice filled with barely suppressed rage: "Who told you to drink so much?"
No response.
Ji Yuan looked at her closed eyes and vaguely heard her soft snoring. Her cheeks were flushed, and she had actually passed out from being drunk.
