As soon as Nanzhi finished speaking, she noticed the sudden silence in the kitchen. However, the silence only lasted a few seconds before the sound of washing resumed.
She had no expression.
Because that's just the kind of person she is, and she doesn't mind being overheard by outsiders.
It's best if you hear it.
The rhinoceros horn can only be hers; no one can take it from her.
Even if he is the crown prince, it won't work.
It's best to give up on the idea after hearing it.
Doctor Zhou knew that Chu Yi must have heard it, and he thought that Chu Yi might ask something when he came out.
To everyone's surprise, he didn't ask anything, and obediently walked up to Nanzhi, saying in a gentle voice, "I'm all washed up."
He seemed not to have heard anything, and there was no sign of anything unusual in his eyes.
Nanzhi pursed her lips, feeling somewhat uncomfortable as she looked at him like this.
Feeling the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Doctor Zhou slipped away.
Nanzhi asked casually as she drank her wine, "You heard everything?"
Chu Yi gave a soft "hmm".
Nan Zhi toyed with her wine glass, determined to win: "The rhinoceros horn is mine."
Chu Yi smiled slightly: "I won't fight you for it."
Nan Zhi's eyelashes fluttered, and she looked up at him.
His eyes and brows were full of smiles, showing no sign of anger.
He can question her, get angry with her, or even try to take things from her.
His gentleness made her very uncomfortable.
"That's for the best." Her voice was curt. "Go inside and go to sleep. Don't disturb my drinking."
"Okay." Chu Yi obediently walked into the house.
Nan Zhi looked at his tall, slender back and listened to his suppressed coughs, her eyes narrowing slightly.
A strange feeling stirred within me, as if I was reluctant to part with his life.
But compared to her freedom, nothing else matters.
After finishing the Nanzhi wine, not satisfied, I went into the kitchen to get more. But as soon as I entered, I saw a stove full of bowls piled up.
The bowls were washed fairly clean, but they weren't stacked up properly, not lined up neatly like soldiers in formation.
Nanzhi remained silent for a long time.
He was indeed seriously ill; his body was not normal, and his mind was not normal either.
She went into the bedroom, grabbed his hand, and led him to the kitchen. "Why are you putting the bowls like that?"
Chu Yi looked bewildered: "Isn't this how you put it?"
"Of course not." Nan Zhi laughed angrily, glaring at him through gritted teeth. "Don't you know that bowls should be stacked up and put in the cupboard?"
"I don't know." Chu Yi lowered his head to tidy up the dishes. "I haven't learned this before."
Looking at his pampered appearance, Nanzhi suddenly remembered that he was the Crown Prince and could never have done such a thing.
She was really thinking of him too much, afraid that he wouldn't be able to survive after he stopped being the crown prince, so she wanted him to experience life.
In short, she couldn't possibly be at fault; the fault always lies with others.
"After you've put it away, go boil some water, boil a lot, I want to take a bath."
Chu Yi hummed in agreement.
Nanzhi waited happily.
Half an hour later, she heard Doctor Zhou scream.
"Fire! Fire! Help!"
Nanzhi was lying on the cool chair, enjoying the carefree life with her senior brother after regaining her virginity, when she was startled by the shout and sat up abruptly.
Just as she was feeling annoyed, she saw smoke billowing from the kitchen around the corner, and Dr. Zhou rushed in carrying a bucket of water.
Nanzhi got up to watch the commotion, and after taking a few steps, she saw Doctor Zhou running out again.
"Go and call that brat. I've asked him to come out, but he absolutely refuses. If this continues, he'll burn to death inside."
Nan Zhi's brow was furrowed so deeply it could trap a fly.
Has his brain been slammed in a door?
She went inside and saw that Chu Yi was covered in soot, and even though he was coughing badly and the fire had reached the hem of his clothes, he was still squatting by the stove, fiddling with the fire.
Nan Zhi took the bucket of water from Doctor Zhou and poured it all over him. Then, she crossed her arms and stared at him as if he were a lunatic: "Chu Yi, do you want to be burned to death?"
The fire on Chu Yi's body went out, and he was soaked to the bone, looking utterly disheveled.
He raised his hand to wipe his face, leaving a dark mark. After coughing a few times, he looked at her with a mix of grievance and stubbornness: "I'm going to boil water for your bath."
"If I tell you to die, will you die too?"
Chu Yi answered without hesitation: "Yes."
He's really good at sweet-talking people. Does he think she's love-struck and believes his nonsense?
Nan Zhi sneered, "Then go die now."
Chu Yi wiped the water off his face and walked out silently.
As Doctor Zhou watched Chu Yi walk out of the courtyard and gradually disappear into the night, he couldn't help but nudge Nan Zhi, "What you said just now was a bit too much. He's not really going to die, is he?"
“How could that be?” Nanzhi stroked the sword at her waist. “He’s probably overjoyed and wants to sneak away.”
Thinking of Chu Yi's stubbornness, Doctor Zhou had some doubts: "I'm afraid not."
"Come on, let's make a bet."
Nanzhi tossed a bottle into the air, and Doctor Zhou immediately recognized it as the medicine bottle he had on him. He quickly reached for it, and sure enough, it was gone.
When exactly did this guy take it?
Those were Snow Lotus Pills that he spent several years making!
"Give it back to me! Give it back to me now!"
Nanzhi held it high and chuckled, "If he runs away, this bottle of pills is mine."
What if he didn't run away?
“Then…” Nan Zhi was silent for a moment. Doctor Zhou thought she would say something important, but to his surprise, she said, “Then I will return it to you.”
Oh, so you're gambling with his stuff, not letting anyone get the slightest advantage!
"Whether I gamble or not, this thing is mine."
