Nan Zhi really thought Ji Huaishe had made a move, so she went up and punched him twice more.
After confirming that he was completely still, Nanzhi tried to touch him again, but then she heard Qin Wang's exclamation from behind.
"A ghost is coming! Protect me!"
Nan Zhi was already timid enough, but Qin Wang was even worse.
Before Nan Zhi could even see what kind of ghost it was, Qin Wang tightly embraced her waist.
The train had already passed through the tunnel, and the interior of the carriage was intermittently lit.
Nan Zhi's head was pressed against Qin Wang's chest. She tried to lift her head to see if there were any ghosts, but her eyes were covered by a warm, large hand.
"Shhh."
I heard his voice silencing me.
Nanzhi simply nestled obediently in his arms and remained still.
The surrounding sounds were terrifying and chaotic, but Nanzhi seemed unable to hear anything.
She pressed herself against his chest, and whether it was because of the tense atmosphere or something else, her heart seemed to be beating faster.
Every time the train passes through a tunnel, in carriages without attendants, the ghosts inside come out to scare people.
Their eyes lit up when they saw Nan Zhi and Qin Wang.
Two ghosts floated over, intending to make a sound to scare them and force them to open their eyes.
But the two were holding each other tightly, and nothing could scare them away.
Over the past few days, they haven't managed to get anything done, and now, looking at these two, they're so frustrated that they're just cursing them out.
Passenger 1: "Why are you hugging so tightly? You dare to show affection in front of us. Get off us right now."
Passenger 2: "Get separated now, or I'll bite you to death!"
Passenger 3: "Hey, your ex-girlfriend, the white moonlight, is back."
Passenger 4: "Your shoelaces are untied."
Passenger 5: "Look, there's a hundred yuan on the ground."
There was still no movement.
Passenger 6 couldn't stand it anymore. "These two are obviously deaf and blind. This is boring. Let's go."
Hearing this insult, Nan Zhi couldn't take it anymore. She moved and was about to open her eyes to deal with them when Qin Wang pressed her down again.
Nanzhi gradually calmed down.
Later, there seemed to be no sound around.
"Is the ghost gone?"
Nan Zhi suddenly looked up, only to find Qin Wang looking down at the same time.
She unexpectedly kissed him on the lips.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment, and she stared at him in shock, her eyes wide.
She was stunned for a few seconds, then blushed and pushed him away.
The two stood there without saying a word for a while, and just as things were getting a little awkward, the bell rang.
Qin Wang then saw that Nan Zhi ran away without looking back.
Sunlight streamed in through the window, and he could vaguely see that the tips of her ears were redder than usual.
Qin Wang slowly raised his hand, which lingered at the corner of his lips, his expression remaining silent for a long time.
Ji Huaishe had been unconscious for an unknown amount of time, but at this moment he stirred and slowly opened his eyes.
A pain shot through his head, and he instinctively touched it. Just as he sat up, he was suddenly met with a pair of eyes that held a sinister smile.
He took a step back in fright, looking at the other person's familiar face, and for some reason, felt a little scared.
"What...what do you want to do?"
Qin Wang looked down at him condescendingly, a slight smile playing on his lips, and turned to leave without saying a word.
Ji Huaishe breathed a sigh of relief, struggled to his feet, and was about to leave when he turned around and saw a black snake flicking its tongue at him.
He opened his eyes wide, and before he could react, the snake had crawled up his shoulder and frantically coiled around his neck.
As a feeling of suffocation washed over him, Ji Huaishe tried to pull the snake away, but it only tightened around him.
Finally, just as he was about to suffocate and die, the black snake slowly released him and left.
Ji Huaishe was panting heavily, his eyes filled with the terror of surviving a disaster.
There are snakes in this carriage. Where did they come from?
It could have strangled him, so why did it loosen its grip in the end?
"What’s wrong with you?"
When Ji Huaishe returned to the carriage, Shen Yu noticed that he looked unwell and asked him what was wrong.
Ji Huaishe covered his neck and glanced at Qin Wang. Qin Wang's expression was normal, showing no sign of anything amiss.
Ji Huaishe's voice was a little hoarse, and his neck was still burning and uncomfortable.
"I'm fine, how are you?"
"It's alright." Shen Yu said calmly. "I'm going to exchange for daily necessities. Do you want to come?"
"I won't go."
"What's wrong?"
"I didn't have time to serve you just now."
Ji Huaishe didn't explain much. Shen Yu looked at him with some suspicion, then looked at Nan Zhi.
Same.
Nanzhi seemed to have a stiff neck and was rubbing it.
What's wrong?
Shen Yu wanted to ask a question, but Ji Huaishe pushed her forward a few steps.
"Honey, hurry up and redeem it."
Shen Yu turned around and looked at Ji Huaishe's face, which remained unchanged.
She was finding him increasingly unpredictable.
Although Shen Yu had some unpleasantness with him these past few days, they were husband and wife after all, so Shen Yu had been holding back and hadn't argued with him. She didn't want to embarrass him at this time.
She had thought it all through.
They might really not be a good match.
Let's go back and get a divorce.
Ling Xuexuan and Cao Yao were the last to return.
This time, Ling Xuexuan was injured. Her thigh was bitten hard by a vengeful ghost, and her body was tattered and torn, making her look extremely disheveled.
Lin Yi stepped forward, took off his coat, and covered her with it.
"What happened?"
Ling Xuexuan was in so much pain that her face turned pale, and she could no longer speak.
With red eyes, Cao Yao explained, "The passengers this time were too clever. When they saw that we didn't open our eyes, they started to lure us."
"One passenger actually called Xuexuan vicious, saying that Xuexuan was taking over someone else's identity and wanted to drive away the real heiress..."
This brainless thing.
They actually said all those things.
What if Lin Yi becomes suspicious?
Seeing that Cao Yao was about to continue, Ling Xuexuan endured the pain and stopped her, "Yao Yao, stop talking."
Cao Yao didn't shut her mouth, looking indignant. "Xuexuan, don't be angry. That passenger must have been talking nonsense. But what I don't understand is why you're so agitated?"
Ling Xuexuan was almost furious.
Seeing that her expression was off, and even Lin Yi's expression changed slightly, Cao Yao was finally satisfied.
The rule for exchanging daily necessities is that as long as you're not dead, you have to go and exchange them yourself, no matter how badly you're injured.
So Lin Yi helped Ling Xuexuan to the flight attendant lounge.
Everyone went to exchange their items, leaving only Qin Wang, Nan Zhi, and Ji Huaishe in the carriage.
Ji Huaishe looked at Nanzhi with a cold gaze.
Nanzhi returned his gaze with a mocking look.
Ji Huaishe sat back down, watching Nan Zhi and Qin Wang petting the cat, a slight smile slowly curving his thin lips.
He didn't care whether the snake was an accident or not.
He cannot keep either Qin Wang or Nan Zhi.
He glanced down at the Buddhist prayer beads on his wrist.
Images flashed through my mind of how those ghosts would run away in fright when they touched me.
This seems to be a good thing.
Ji Huaishe gently stroked it, while secretly plotting a terrible scheme.
