He could only watch Chen Xinyue wailing under Song Jiao's fists and feet.
"Stop! Stop it!" A deep and majestic roar cut through the noise at the scene, shocking everyone like thunder.
However, Song Jiao seemed to be in another world, turning a deaf ear to the shouts. Her fists still fell on Chen Xinyue like a storm, and each blow was accompanied by the sound of air tearing.
This sudden commotion alarmed Lu Kewu, the governor of the Interstellar Safety Zone.
He came with big strides, his eyes sharp. He first paused for a moment on Song Jiao's resolute figure, and then turned to Chen Xinyue, who was curled up on the ground with a disheveled look on her face.
"Enough! Fighting here is so disgraceful!" Lu Kewu's voice was low and powerful, with unquestionable majesty.
Song Jiao slowly turned her head, her eyes as cold as ice. She stared at Lu Kewu intently and asked word by word, "So, it was you, the higher-ups, who coldly issued that order, sending innocent recruits to their deaths?"
Lu Kewu's face instantly turned gloomy. His deep eyes seemed to be able to see through people's hearts. He glanced sharply at Chen Xinyue, as if he wanted to see through her.
After a moment, he looked away and said firmly, "No! I never gave such an order."
Song Jiao sneered when she heard this. She was dressed in a mecha suit, standing tall and straight, like an inviolable god of war. "No? Then how dare Chen Xinyue, a mere commander, give orders without authorization and send the new recruits to serve as cannon fodder?"
