Wan Kui's smile vanished. He dropped his nonchalant attitude and began to scrutinize Pei Zhi intently.
This time, the scrutiny wasn't of Pei Zhi's appearance.
Wan Kui wanted to see through Pei Zhi's heart.
"You're just my type."
Pei Zhi supported herself with one hand on the ground, then sat down on the ground. "Presumably, apart from the two of them, there is no one else who can interest the Demon Lord."
Wan Kui asked curiously, "One is your master, and the other is your fiancé. How could you possibly lay a hand on either of them?"
This question is like asking, if your mother and wife both fell into the water, who would you save?
An ordinary man might be stumped by this age-old question.
But Pei Zhi wouldn't do that.
"My own life is the most important thing."
The implication is that she would kill either of them if it meant she could live.
"That's spirited." Wan Kui truly admired Pei Zhi's attitude. "Why don't you join my demon clan?"
"How about becoming my Demon Queen?"
Pei Zhi blinked slightly. "Why don't we go back to the question of whose life you want?"
Wan Kui seemed somewhat displeased. "You really hate being me that much? You don't want to be my Demon Queen?"
Pei Zhi pondered for a moment, fearing that if she uttered the word "yes," she would die.
Pei Zhi said confidently, "There can be many people who can be your Demon Queen, but there is only one person who can kill you but not me."
Wan Kui remained silent. Suddenly, he stood up and reached out his hand to Pei Zhi.
Pei Zhi quickly closed her eyes, thinking she had said something wrong and angered Wan Kui, who was now going to kill her.
As a result, Pei Zhi felt a repulsive aura enter her dantian.
Then, Pei Zhi could feel a demonic aura surrounding the golden core in her dantian.
“I have planted demonic energy in your dantian. In a month, I will hear the news of Zhong Changyuan’s death.”
Wan Kui bowed slightly, "Of course, if you can't do it within a month, your golden core will be completely devoured by demonic energy."
If Pei Zhi's golden core is devoured by demonic energy, he will exude demonic energy all over his body and become a demon.
Wan Kui gave a sinister smile: "By then, the cultivation world should be abuzz with the news that the daughter of the Tianyuan Sect's leader has betrayed the sect and joined the Demon Clan, now at my beck and call."
Pei Zhi raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking, "That's it?"
Wan Kui believed that this threat was more threatening to Pei Zhi's existence than taking her life.
The daughter of the Tianyuan Sect leader and a disciple of the Sword Immortal, one day suddenly became a demon, which must have been more painful than death.
Wan Kui and Pei Zhi looked at each other, but Wan Kui couldn't read any fear, terror, or apprehension in Pei Zhi's eyes.
Pei Zhi froze for a moment, then closed her eyes, made a pained expression, and finally managed to squeeze out tears.
"As expected of the Demon Lord, he is truly... ruthless."
Seeing Pei Zhi's tears, Wan Kui finally laughed heartily with satisfaction.
"Don't worry, as long as I hear news of Zhong Changyuan's death within a month, I will remove this demonic energy for you."
Wan Kui lowered his voice and said, "Of course, if you are willing to abandon your status, honor, and cultivation for your master, then I can't do anything about it."
Pei Zhi seemed to be frightened and sat there blankly. Wan Kui blasted open the cave gate and then left on his own.
Pei Zhi remained silent for a long time, afraid that old bastard Wan Kui hadn't left and was hiding in the shadows watching her.
Pei Zhi staggered to her feet, checked the entrance to the cave, and after confirming that there was nothing wrong, she quickly ran out, lifting her skirt.
After Pei Zhi came out, he searched for directions and was about to fly on his sword.
Suddenly, a large crowd gathered in front of Pei Zhi.
Pei Zhi was so frightened that she took a big step back, thinking that Wan Kui had changed his mind and was going to take her life again.
As a result, a group of black-clad guards all knelt on one knee in front of Pei Zhi.
"Your Majesty, I am late in coming to your rescue. Please forgive me."
Should we call her Queen?
Pei Zhi then noticed that these people had demonic markings on their faces.
Pei Zhi was too anxious and didn't look carefully.
Pei Zhi asked curiously, "Have you been following me the whole time?"
"Yes, after the Queen left the palace, the Demon Lord instructed us to follow behind you and protect your safety."
"Your subordinate deserves to die; you actually allowed the Queen to be kidnapped."
Pei Zhi waved her hand. The newcomer was Wan Kui. Even if Sikong Ren were here, the two of them would be evenly matched for the time being.
Moreover, these people were just guards of the demon realm's royal palace; against Wan Kui, they would simply be dead.
"It's alright, you don't need to be so hard on yourselves. I'm perfectly fine, aren't I?"
"Please punish me, Your Majesty."
Pei Zhi sighed, "Alright, then you all go back to the Demon Realm first and tell the Left Protector that I don't need your protection, I have some things to do back in the Cultivation Realm."
The group of guards looked at each other, unsure whether to listen to what they were saying.
"Does this mean that if I go to the world of cultivation, you'll all follow me?"
Pei Zhi's face hardened. "Or do you think that even my master, Zhong Changyuan, can't protect me?"
"Your subordinate dares not."
After dismissing the guards, Pei Zhi got up and returned to Linglong Town.
As soon as Pei Zhi landed, she was surrounded by villagers.
She said that all the people who were with her had fallen into a coma and she didn't know what had happened.
Gao Shijie and the others had fainted by the river and were taken back to the inn by the villagers of the town.
Pei Zhi was afraid that Wan Kui, that ruthless man, would take action against Gao Shijie and the others.
Pei Zhi breathed a sigh of relief after checking on Gao Shijie and the others.
This group of people were all trapped in a dream.
