Pei Zhi turned to look at Lu Mingxu, only to find that Lu Mingxu's face was flushed, and he was leaning back in his chair, looking somewhat drowsy.
"If you ask me, Mr. Lu is the smartest. He doesn't get married and lives a carefree life."
"Single, I'll wait until I've had my fill of fun, then find a pretty young girl to marry. Tsk tsk tsk, I've really enjoyed life to the fullest."

Several business partners clearly viewed Pei Zhi as a scheming woman who rose to power through her beauty.
Otherwise, even though Lu Mingxu hasn't married for so many years, there have been quite a few women who have been trying to win his favor.
They didn't know what Lu Mingxu was like in private, but at least on the surface, Lu Mingxu had never been seen getting close to that woman over the years.

Upon hearing this, Pei Zhi laughed and kicked Lu Mingxu, who was lying unconscious to the side.
Lu Mingxu cried out in pain and opened his eyes in a daze.
"How are you? Are you home?"
Lu Mingxu dreamed that he and Pei Zhi got into a car, and Pei Zhi was driving home.
Pei Zhi looked at Lu Mingxu with a half-smile, "Your business partners asked me to find a few people like me and introduce them to them."
Lu Mingxu was a little drunk and his reactions were a bit slow.
"Holy crap?" Lu Mingxu stood up abruptly after realizing what was happening. "You bunch of toads, don't you even look in the mirror and see what you look like?"
"When you drink too much, your brain starts to get all irritated, right?"
"Just because you have a little money, you think you're someone special?"
Seeing that Lu Mingxu was angry, several business partners quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Mr. Lu, Mr. Lu, don't be angry. We just had too much to drink and were just joking."
"You've been a live-in son-in-law for so many years, and even changed your surname to your wife's. You must be very happy, right?"
After Lu Mingxu finished speaking, he saw that his business partner couldn't smile anymore. "I was just joking, you're not really angry, are you?"
"And you, Lao Liu, I remember you were getting a divorce and your wife kicked you out of the house."

Lu Mingxu chuckled, "Your wife posted the video in their group chat with her girlfriends."

The two people who were called out by Lu Mingxu both shrank their necks and didn't dare to say a word.
Lu Mingxu glanced at the other partners, who all lowered their heads and pretended to be dead.
"Zhizhi, let's go."
Pei Zhi didn't say anything, but simply took Lu Mingxu's hand and let him lead her out of the private room.
Inside the car, Lu Mingxu cautiously observed Pei Zhi, as if afraid that she would be angry.
Pei Zhi said helplessly, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Lu Mingxu looked at him expectantly and said, "I'm afraid you'll be angry."
"You argued with them like that, shouldn't they be the ones who are angry?"
Lu Mingxu shook his head, "I'm afraid you'll think that one is influenced by one's company."
Lu Mingxu was worried that Pei Zhi would take her anger out on him.
He believed that since he ate and drank with this group of people, he wasn't a good person either.
"Zhizhi, I don't usually get together with them, but they invited me so kindly today. I've refused so many times, so I had no choice but to come."
Having collaborated with them many times, Lu Mingxu had a general idea of what kind of people they were.
But Lu Mingxu only cares about business matters; what kind of people they are in private is none of his business.
As long as Lu Mingxu makes money, he doesn't care about living with these business partners.
"If you don't like it, I'll go back tomorrow and cancel all cooperation with them, and never have anything to do with them again."

Lu Mingxu said in a mournful tone, "You're tired of seeing my figure. There are younger bodies out there."
Lu Mingxu's words contained both a hint of a joke and a touch of sincerity.
Pei Zhi reached out and stroked Lu Mingxu's hair. "Since you know that, you'd better work hard."
Pei Zhi said bluntly, "Lest I get tired of you one day and just kick you to the curb."
"Hey!" Lu Mingxu shouted in dissatisfaction, "I've already said all this, why don't you even try to comfort me?"
Lu Mingxu pretended to be pitiful in the hopes that Pei Zhi would coax him.
So how could Pei Zhi be so heartless?
"Alright." Pei Zhi reached out and fastened Lu Mingxu's seatbelt, then kissed Lu Mingxu on the corner of his mouth.
"Sit tight, I'm driving home."
With a gentle kiss, Lu Mingxu was completely captivated.
He walked home with a silly grin on his face, which was noticed by Chi Xiuwen, who even commented, "Did Lu Mingxu drink himself silly?"
Lu Mingxu wasn't going to hold a grudge against someone who hadn't been kissed by Pei Zhi today.
