Fu Yiwei glanced at the time on her computer, then picked up her coat and walked out of the office building.
The employees behind him whispered among themselves.
"The CEO went to pick up his wife from get off work again."
"With a man like this, what more could I ask for?"
Mu Wenxi, heavily pregnant, slowly walked out of the school gate.
"Is Teacher Mu off work?"
"Hey, Mr. Li, I'm on maternity leave now. See you in a while."
"Okay, Teacher Mu, take it easy, let me help you."
"No need, no need, look, my husband is over there."
As soon as Fu Yiwei saw Mu Wenxi standing next to the car, she immediately ran over, shouting, "Slow down, slow down."
He was so cautious and didn't have the airs of a CEO at all.
Mu Wenxi, supporting her waist with one hand and leaning back slightly, looked somewhat strained: "Alright, alright, I've already asked the principal for leave, are you happy now?"
Fu Yiwei fastened her special maternity seatbelt: "Really? I can finally rest at home. I was always worried about you with that big belly."
Mu Wenxi: "I'm just worried about those students."
Fu Yiwei shook his head helplessly: "The school has more than just you as a teacher. If you don't trust the students, I don't trust you either."
Mu Wenxi: "I know, I know, brother, you're starting to ramble on again."
Fu Yiwei gently patted Mu Wenxi's stomach, but it was less heavy than patting a watermelon: "Why are you annoyed with your brother again?"
Mu Wenxi: "Hehe, go ahead and hit me, it's your daughter and son after all."
Fu Yiwei: "Mischievous".
At night, Mu Wenxi lay on the sofa and called out to the people working in the room, "Brother, I want to eat grapes!"
Fu Yiwei: "Okay, I'll be right there."
He washed the grapes and even peeled them before feeding them to Mu Wenxi, who then kissed his cheek.
Fu Yiwei felt a sticky sensation on her face.
A little while later, Mu Wenxi called out again, "Brother, can you peel an apple for me?"
Fu Yiwei put down what she was doing and came out. She washed an apple and sat down next to Mu Wenxi to peel it. After peeling it, she cut it into small pieces.
"Don't eat too much, eat slowly."
Mu Wenxi, holding a toothpick, ate it: "Brother, you eat too!"
Fu Yiwei took a bite of an apple and continued working. Just as she was getting into it, she heard a noise outside.
Mu Wenxi: "Brother, please wash my feet."
Fu Yiwei: "Okay."
Looking at Fu Yiwei, who was busy running around, Mu Wenxi asked unreasonably, "Brother, why don't you get annoyed with me? You know perfectly well that I'm calling you on purpose."
Fu Yiwei brought over a basin of warm water: "Why are you bothered? You're my wife. Who else can you call if not me?"
Fu Yiwei squatted down and rolled up Mu Wenxi's trouser legs, carefully placing her feet into the basin and gently rubbing them.
Looking at her slightly swollen feet, Fu Yiwei felt a pang of heartache.
A single, unnoticed tear fell silently into the basin.
But Mu Wenxi, who had become more sensitive since becoming pregnant, quickly noticed the other person's unusual behavior: "What's wrong, brother?"
Fu Yiwei: "It's okay, I feel sorry for you."
Mu Wenxi: "I'm willing. If you feel sorry for me, just treat me better in the future. It would be best if you treated me like royalty."
Fu Yiwei was both amused and exasperated: "Fine, you're my great-aunt, okay?"
Mu Wenxi secretly smiled as she enjoyed Fu Yiwei's foot-washing treatment.
In the middle of the night, Mu Wenxi had some leg cramps and couldn't sleep. Fu Yiwei felt the movement of the person next to her, so he immediately got up and gently massaged her legs.
Is this better?
"I feel much better, thank you, brother. Pregnancy is really tough."
Fu Yiwei gently kissed Mu Wenxi's cheek, feeling a pang of heartache.
"I won't have any more children after this one. It's my older brother's fault."
"Hmph, it's all your fault, it's all your fault."
"Okay, okay, it's my fault, you're right."
"No, you're the best."
Fu Yiwei smiled and not only did not find her unreasonable, but even found her quite cute.
In July, Mu Wenxi took a long leave from school and stayed at home. Fu Yiwei also often stayed at home to work, saying that he wanted to take care of her and was afraid that she would be bored.
In September, Mu Wenxi had difficulty walking. Because he couldn't sleep at night, Fu Yiwei massaged Mu Wenxi's legs every night.
That day, Mu Wenxi was eating on the sofa as usual when he felt something flowing out between his legs.
Mu Wenxi cried out in surprise, "Brother, my water has broken!"
Fu Yiwei immediately ran out of the room, picked up Mu Wenxi and ran outside. When they arrived at the hospital, Wenxi was immediately taken to the delivery room.
The shepherd's mother and father rushed over.
Fu Yiwei paced back and forth outside the delivery room, her brows furrowed, her head covered in sweat, and she glanced at the overhead light from time to time.
I've never been so anxious before; it's even more nerve-wracking than my multi-million dollar project.
Dad: "Hey, stop shaking me, I'm getting dizzy."
Upon hearing this, Mu's mother glared at Mu's father and said, "Yiwei is doing this with good intentions, unlike you who have no conscience. A woman has to endure so much suffering when she gives birth."
The father was glared at for no reason and, feeling guilty, dared not argue with the mother.
Finally, the lights went out, the delivery room door opened, and the doctor wheeled out the unconscious Mu Wenxi.
Doctor: "The mother has fallen asleep from exhaustion."
The baby was brought out by the nurse behind, but Fu Yiwei didn't even look at it and didn't take it immediately. Instead, she rushed to Mu Wenxi's delivery bed.
Her once red lips were now deathly pale, and her hair was plastered to her forehead with sweat.
Fu Yiwei tidied her hair; he had never seen Wen Xi look so haggard.
