Chapter 148 The Demon Lord's Little Darling 20 [Bonus Chapter for National Day]

He and his brother had once depended on each other for survival, and even his brother could abandon him, but the Demon Lord was unwilling to give up Xie Qi, who was of lowly status.

No one had ever been so kind to him before. For some reason, he was extremely jealous of how good Mu Wenxi was to Xie Qi. He followed the two of them all the way, feeling the pain in his heart, reaping what he sowed.

Mu Wenxi had known for a long time that there was a little tail following her, but she pretended not to know, not wanting to disturb Xie Qi's mood by saying it, and besides, it was just a little tail and there was no great danger.

With everything prepared, the group set off to return to the Demon Palace for the Demon Queen's grand ceremony. However, unlike their previous journey, they chose a different route, passing through another town along the way. Rather than riding at full speed, the two preferred to travel at a leisurely pace.

Mu Wenxi and Xie Qi sat in the carriage, traveling slowly. Mu Wenxi played with Xie Qi's tail and fed him pastries, which seemed to be a fun activity between the two. Just as the two were becoming increasingly ambiguous.

A dangerous aura suddenly surged toward them.

Mu Wenxi's expression changed: "Someone's coming. Protect yourself."

The next second she rushed out of the carriage to face the enemy head-on, but the situation was somewhat unexpected.

Because they were deliberately disguised for this trip, they didn't bring many people with them, most of whom were human. The Demon Lord's whereabouts were not revealed, and the group of people in front of them probably didn't know their identities.

The people in front of him didn't seem like murderers; they just stood there dumbfounded, striking a robbery pose, leaving Mu Wenxi somewhat bewildered.

A fierce-looking robber suddenly took a few steps forward and stretched out his large hand: "Robbery."

Mu Wenxi almost laughed until his stomach hurt: "This is the first time someone has snatched it from me."

The robber opposite him looked puzzled: "Who are you? State your name."

Mu Wenxi: "Take it if you want, but you're not qualified to hear my name."

Upon hearing this, the shifty-eyed bandit exclaimed, "Alright, he must be some nobody. Brothers, get him!"

Mu Wenxi stood motionless in front of the carriage. The bandits who rushed over were instantly repelled by Mu Wenxi's wave of his hand, turning into a disorganized mess.

The robber staggered back several steps, asking, "Who are you? You're so powerful!"

Mu Wenxi didn't speak, waiting for the bandits to leave on their own. This was such a small matter; she wouldn't go on a killing spree in front of Xie Qi.

Seeing that Mu Wenxi did not answer, the robber became even more aggressive. He put his hands on his hips, acted domineering, and was about to shout.

Xiao He, who had been following the group, drifted out from the woods. Seeing the scene of being surrounded by enemies, he felt it was his duty to be a hero and stepped forward to block their path.

Xiao He: "Who dares to act so presumptuously here?"

The bandit leader was completely bewildered when he saw a person suddenly appear out of nowhere: "And who are you?"

Mu Wenxi sighed. What a bunch of idiots.

Xiao He then turned around and saw that the Demon Lord and his group were all calm and composed, clearly not taking the band of robbers in front of them seriously. Only then did he realize that he was probably just throwing firewood at the fire.

The bandit leader waved his hand, and his brothers suddenly surrounded Xiao He, probably wanting to deal with the troublemaker first.

Xiao He's martial arts skills were quite good, and he was able to put up a fight against the group. In no time, the bandits were beaten to the ground.

The bandit leader glared at him: "I don't believe it."

He gestured with his hands and blew a loud whistle. Suddenly, a group of villagers appeared out of nowhere—good heavens, there were old and young—this was a bandit village!

Mu Wenxi signaled his servants to throw out a bag of money, and the villagers scattered, leaving only a few bandit brothers.

Seeing that the bandit brothers were still surrounding Xiao He, Mu Wenxi originally wanted to leave, but then he remembered that Xiao He meant well, so he sent a telepathic message to Xie Qi.

Should we save him?

Xie Qi had just heard another voice and thought it sounded familiar. It was Xiao He, the one who had tried to assassinate the Demon Lord.

"Save him, he's a kind and innocent person too."

Left with no other choice, Mu Wenxi jumped off the carriage and fought with the bandits. She only used a fraction of her strength, hoping to make them back down.

Unexpectedly, Xiao He stepped back into a place he shouldn't have, and suddenly the entire ground collapsed. It was probably a trap set by the bandits. Xiao He was originally near the Demon Lord, and in his panic, he pulled on Mu Wenxi's sleeve. Mu Wenxi was caught off guard and was also pulled down.

Bandit leader: "Haha, no matter how skilled you are in martial arts, you can't beat our ancestral secret cave."

Upon seeing that the Demon Lord had fallen into the hole, the attendants hurriedly cried out, forgetting to conceal their identities: "Demon Lord!"

Upon hearing this, Xie Qi felt uneasy and hurriedly got up and jumped off the carriage. No one noticed his actions: "What's wrong?"

Demon General: "My lord has fallen."

The moment the demon general, who had been hiding in the shadows, appeared, he brought immense pressure to the bandits. Unlike the Demon Lord, he was not kind enough to deliberately conceal his identity.

The bandit leader initially thought he had misheard the address, but upon closer inspection of the insignia on the man's weapon, he rubbed his eyes and exclaimed, "Have we stumbled upon the Demon Palace?"

His own brothers beside him were also filled with terror. The bandit leader looked at the demon general in disbelief: "Who was that person just now?"

Demon General: "Heh, that's right, you are truly audacious to rob the Demon Lord. The Demon Lord originally intended to let you go, but you are ungrateful..."

"What!"

The bandit leader roared and then his eyes rolled back as he fainted. The demon general shook his head, thinking, "So stupid, yet he tries to rob others."

The other bandits looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

Xie Qi walked to the cave entrance and looked inside. The cave was pitch black and bottomless.

Demon General: "You few protect the Demon Queen, I will go find the Demon Lord now."

Xie Qi: "I'll go with you."

Demon General: "Then let's go together."

Xie Qi was somewhat annoyed, wondering what was going on with the Demon Lord after he fell down, especially since he had fallen down with that person.

The demon general grabbed one of the bandits: "What's the deal with this cave?"

The robbers stammered, "This cave is nothing special. Our ancestors built it to hide in. There's no danger inside. Who knew you would fall in?"

Enraged, the demon general threw the man aside and grabbed another, saying, "You, get down here."

With no other option, the sixth bandit jumped down. His other brothers were still in their hands. He gave his brothers a look, signaling them to jump down and think of a way to escape.

The demon general threw down the rope, intending to slowly climb down, but Xie Qi transformed into the form of a demon beast and jumped down in an instant.

The demon general was shocked: "Demon Queen!"

If the Demon Queen were injured, who knows how the Demon Lord would punish them? No one knew that Xie Qi possessed power, so the Demon General could only speed up his descent, leaving a few attendants up there to watch over things and relay messages to the main palace.
