Wen Nanyin nodded. The teacher slapped his head and realized that Mu Wenxi didn't even have a pen. Mu Wenxi took Wen Nanyin's black oil pastel and began to sketch randomly on the white paper. In less than a minute, the outline of a bicycle appeared in the corner of the white paper.
Mu Wenxi turned her head to look at Wen Nanyin's focused gaze, then switched to a yellow oil pastel. A truck appeared on the white paper in a moment, and then she took a blue one and drew an airplane... When the picture was full, she stopped and handed the paper to Wen Nanyin: "Can you help me color it?"
Wen Nanyin nodded and picked up the oil pastel with her little hands to start painting: "So amazing."
Mu Wenxi raised her head upon hearing the praise: "Thank you for the compliment."
The teacher, who was watching the commotion from the sidelines, was dumbfounded. Good heavens, it turned out that when little Wenxi said it was simple, it really was simple. She had thought she was lying and bragging. But looking at it this way, a four-year-old who could draw like this was simply a little genius.
The teacher was amazed. From that day on, she began to pay close attention to Mu Wenxi's every move. For example, during math class, she would deliberately give each child a test paper, and when it came to Mu Wenxi, she would intentionally give him a more difficult question. As a result, when she collected the papers, she found that Mu Wenxi could answer them all.
Since most of the children in the small class are naturally active, the teacher conducted a special test. She placed a few candies in front of each child and told them that if they didn't eat them when the teacher came back, they would get an extra candy; if they ate them, they would get none. After saying this, she left the classroom and went to the monitoring room to check on the children.
As a result, the teacher had only been gone for a few minutes when several children picked up the candy on the table and started eating it. Some children, seeing other children start eating, couldn't resist the temptation and started eating it themselves. Only Mu Wenxi remained unmoved by the candy and even took it to Wen Nanyin.
She whispered to Wen Nanyin, "Little brother, don't eat now. You can have mine too. We'll have more candy later."
Wen Nanyin nodded and picked up the sketchbook next to him to look at it.
The teacher was very surprised. It seemed that Mu Wenxi's IQ was far beyond that of other children her age. She immediately contacted Mu's mother.
When Mu Ma rushed to the school, she thought something had happened to Nan Yin and Wen Xi.
Teacher: "Wenxi's mother, don't be nervous. We called you here today to learn about Wenxi's situation. Do you usually teach your child drawing, math, or other subjects at home?"
The old woman shook her head blankly: "No, Wenxi has never liked studying since she was little, but she is very interested in other things."
The teacher handed her a drawing: "This was drawn by Mu Wenxi. She didn't want to draw it at first. When I asked her why, she said it was because it was simple. I didn't believe her until she finished this drawing."
The shepherd's mother took the drawing and looked at its contents with disbelief: "Did Xiaoxi draw this?"
The teacher continued, "Take another look. This is a math problem I deliberately tested Wenxi because she wasn't paying attention in class. Even some first and second graders can't answer this math question. I think that for a four-year-old, her intelligence, or in some aspects, far surpasses that of other children."
Mu's mother: "Really? No wonder she never wanted to go to kindergarten. All she does is study and is very naughty. She doesn't like to play with other children except Nan Yin. I thought she was just too withdrawn."
The teacher shook her head: "Perhaps in her eyes, things that she already knows are meaningless. This kind of child needs to be properly guided."
Mother Shepherd: "Okay, so what do you mean?"
Teacher: "I suggest you send Wenxi to a school that is specifically for these kinds of children."
Mother: "I need to go back and discuss it with his father. Thank you, teacher."
The mother's steps were still unsteady as she walked out of the teacher's office. Had she and the father given birth to a little genius? She walked to the classroom, just as it was time to leave school and pick up her two children.
In the classroom, Mu Wenxi sighed and counted Wen Nanyin's paintbrushes over and over again.
As soon as the bell rang, the children knew that school was over and began to get restless. However, the children in the toddler class could only be picked up by their parents in person. So, after Mu Wenxi helped Wen Nanyin pack his schoolbag, she sat obediently in her seat and waited. Wen Nanyin carried his and his sister's schoolbags and looked expectantly at the door.
The shepherd's mother appeared at the classroom door: "Xiao Xi, Nan Yin, I've come to pick you up."
Wen Nanyin suddenly stood up with bright eyes, while Mu Wenxi slowly got up and walked towards Mu's mother with her schoolbag.
The mother's gaze towards Xiaoxi suddenly became somewhat complicated, but she quickly composed herself, took the two children by the hands on either side, greeted the teacher, and walked out of the classroom.
The shepherd's mother took Nan Yin home, and the two children waved goodbye.
Mu Wenxi: "Mom and I will pick you up tomorrow morning."
Wen Nanyin: "Goodbye, sister."
That evening, when Mu's mother and father returned home from get off work, they discussed this matter. Mu's father was somewhat shocked: "What? You're saying Xiaoxi is a genius?"
Mother Shepherd: "It wasn't me who said it, it was the teacher."
Mu's father: "But Xiaoxi didn't have any special issues before, except that she didn't like going to kindergarten."
The mother showed the painting to the father: "Look, what four-year-old can draw so well? We don't think we've ever taught her how to draw."
With a calm expression, Mu's father placed the painting on the bedside table: "I think it depends on Xiaoxi's wishes. I hope she has a happy childhood. Even if she is a genius, we can't deprive her of time to play. But if Xiaoxi is willing, then we will respect her wishes."
The old woman nodded: "That's what I think too, and Xiao Xi and Xiao Yin are getting along really well now."
Father Mu: "Then ask Xiaoxi tomorrow."
The next morning, Mu's mom and dad drove to take Mu Wenxi to kindergarten. When they passed Wen Nanyin's house, they stopped the car. Mu Wenxi sat in the back seat and clung to the car window.
Wen's mother hurriedly pulled Wen Nanyin out, saying, "Nanyin, go with Uncle Mu and Aunt Mu."
Nan Yin nodded, and Mu Ma helped Nan Yin into the car. The three of them sat together in the back seat of the car, and Nan Yin obediently called out to say goodbye to Wen Ma.
Mu Wenxi, wearing yellow overalls, swung her short legs and said, "Good morning, little brother."
Nan Yin: "Good morning, elder sister."
Seeing that the two were playing well, Mu's mother tentatively asked, "Xiaoxi, are you happy at kindergarten? Didn't you always not want to go to kindergarten? If you're not happy, how about Mom transfers you to another school?"
Wen Nanyin seemed to understand and looked at Mu Wenxi.
Mu Wenxi looked at her mother and shook her head: "I'm happy, I want to be with my brother."
Looking in the rearview mirror, Mu's mother exchanged a glance with Mu's father, and then patted their heads one by one: "Okay, then Xiaoxi will play with Nan Yin from now on, and Mom won't transfer you to another school."
