On a warm afternoon, Mu Wenxi and Xiao Chang'an took their roller coaster to a still-operating amusement park in the city.
Mu Wenxi looked at the roller coaster in Xiao Chang'an's hand: "Do you like it here?"
The roller coaster transformed into the shape of a little boy, flying through the air. He was overjoyed; there were so many people in the amusement park: "I love it! It's so lively here!"
Xiao Chang'an: "Then you can stay here and guard the roller coaster."
The little boy greeted them and then flew towards the red roller coaster in the distance.
Mu Wenxi: "Is he the guardian spirit of the roller coaster?"
Xiao Chang'an: "I guess so."
Mu Wenxi: "That's great."
Xiao Chang'an put his arm around Mu Wenxi, and the two happily walked out of the amusement park.
As the days went by, Mu Wenxi grew older, but she remained single. Mu's parents were getting anxious, and when they finally caught Mu Wenxi on a day off, they almost started arguing again.
Mother: "Uncle Li's son is about your age, why don't I ask him for you?"
Mu Wenxi: "No need, Mom. I said I don't want to date or get married."
Father: "How can we not get married?"
Mu Wenxi: "This is my freedom, and I don't need anyone to support me."
Father Mu: "Look around, which woman doesn't get married and have children?"
Mu Wenxi: "That's someone else, not me. I'm a non-marriage advocate."
The father was so angry that he smashed his chopsticks.
Mother Shepherd: "This child."
Mu Wenxi: "Don't be angry, it's not good for your health. You guys eat slowly, I'm leaving now."
Mu Wenxi returned to the small apartment she rented after starting work, where traces of her life with Xiao Chang'an were everywhere.
In the restroom, there were two toothbrushes and two identical toothbrush cups. Although no one could see Xiao Chang'an, Mu Wenxi would always buy him some handsome clothes to wear.
Now Xiao Chang'an can move freely in the city and doesn't necessarily have to stay by Mu Wenxi's side.
When Mu Wenxi returned, Xiao Chang'an opened the door for her as if he had expected it.
Xiao Chang'an: "I'm back."
Mu Wenxi reached out her hand: "Hug."
Xiao Chang'an hugged Mu Wenxi and rubbed against her: "What's wrong? Are Mom and Dad nagging you again?"
Mu Wenxi: "Hmm."
Xiao Chang'an opened his mouth as if to say something, but then stopped himself.
Mu Wenxi put her arms around his neck and sensed that he wanted to say something: "What's wrong?"
Xiao Chang'an said weakly, "Why don't you listen to your parents?"
Mu Wenxi: "What are you saying? Listen to my parents? Do you mean I should marry another man and have children?"
Xiao Chang'an lowered his head and did not answer, which seemed to be an admission.
Mu Wenxi was almost furious: "Xiao Chang'an, what are you going to do about that? Huh?"
Xiao Chang'an: "After all, humans and ghosts are on different paths."
Mu Wenxi: "You've gone too far. Do you think I'm someone you can just tolerate? I'll never let you go in this lifetime. Xiao Chang'an, give up."
Xiao Chang'an's eyes held a hint of pity: "What if your parents keep urging you?"
Mu Wenxi hugged Xiao Chang'an's neck tightly: "Let them urge me then. Anyway, we live in a society governed by law, so they can't force me to get married. You'll never get rid of me in this lifetime."
Xiao Chang'an buried his head in Mu Wenxi's shoulder, revealing a sly smile. He seemed to be feeling increasingly insecure, but he had already made up his mind: if Mu Wenxi lived and married another man and had children, he would become a pair of lovebirds with the deceased Mu Wenxi.
Mu Wenxi: "You bad guy, don't even think about getting rid of me."
Xiao Chang'an: "No, only you can get rid of me. I will never let you go."
Mu Wenxi pinched Xiao Chang'an's cheek: "How could I bear to? Hurry up and carry me to take a bath."
Xiao Chang'an picked up Mu Wenxi and said, "Okay, my dear wife."
The bathroom scene is omitted below... Hehe, please use your imagination.
What's it like to have a ghost husband? Mu Wenxi thinks there are many advantages, especially when others think you live alone but you don't.
In the middle of the night, Mu Wenxi felt weak all over, exhausted from Xiao Chang'an's antics. She was already very sleepy, but in the quiet of the night, the sound of the lock being pried open was still too obvious for both the human and the ghost.
Mu Wenxi: "Chang An, did you hear anything?"
Xiao Chang'an kissed Mu Wenxi's lips: "It's okay."
Mu Wenxi suddenly woke up from her daze: "Wait, is someone trying to pick our door lock?"
Xiao Chang'an finally stopped what he was doing and gently tucked the blanket around Mu Wenxi: "Don't be afraid, I'll go check on you, you can continue sleeping."
Mu Wenxi: "Don't scare people to death."
Xiao Chang'an: "Okay."
He walked out of the bedroom with a gloomy expression, gently closed the door, and reached the doorway.
The lock on the door was being pried open from time to time, pausing occasionally as if afraid of being noticed by the person inside, before continuing to pry open the lock after the noise subsided.
Xiao Chang'an crossed his arms and kept staring at the lock.
Suddenly, the person outside successfully picked the lock, and the door slowly opened. Xiao Chang'an stood behind the door and saw a furtive man take off his shoes and walk in. He bent over and looked around, trying to see if there was anything valuable around him.
Xiao Chang'an chuckled.
The man looked up like a startled bird, glanced around, and seeing nothing unusual, took out his flashlight and shone it around. It was a two-bedroom apartment with a living room, and there was nothing in the living room. The man seemed to want to walk towards the bedroom.
Xiao Chang'an immediately lost his patience. It was bad enough that they stole from their house, but they also tried to scare his wife. He flicked his sleeves, and even though he wasn't wearing a brocade robe now, he still couldn't break this habit.
He tapped a bowl in the kitchen from a distance, and the bowl made a crisp sound on the table. The man turned around sharply: "Who's there?"
Xiao Chang'an did not answer, but waited for the man to walk over.
The man indeed changed direction and turned to walk towards the kitchen. When he reached the kitchen, two candles suddenly lit up.
The man's eyes widened, and he exclaimed in surprise.
Between the two candles was a portrait of the man. The man dropped his flashlight, turned and ran away, shouting, "A ghost! A ghost!"
Xiao Chang'an returned to the bedroom, and Mu Wenxi was just about to get up.
Xiao Chang'an: "Why are you up?"
Mu Wenxi: "Did you scare him?"
Xiao Chang'an touched his nose: "Hmm."
Mu Wenxi nestled into Chang An's arms: "It's so good to have you here, but we still have to call the police."
The police arrived in the middle of the night just as Mu Wenxi was about to doze off on the sofa.
Police officer: "Hello, did you call the police?"
Mu Wenxi: "Yes, a thief just came to my house to steal things, but he seemed to be scared."
After learning about the situation, the police quickly caught the thief through surveillance footage. The thief had been loitering around the neighborhood and kept muttering "Something's fishy" when he was caught.
