Chapter 282 The second male lead’s ex-girlfriend died early 4

The two people in front walked quickly. Mu Wenxi waited until they had passed the tree in front of him before moving from the tree behind him to the tree in the middle. He moved from tree to tree, following the two people closely, afraid that they would notice him if he got too close.

After the two walked out of the school gate, they entered a coffee shop on a street outside the school. Mu Wenxi observed from a distance, and after the two entered the coffee shop, he put on a mask and planned to follow them in.

Lu Heting tilted his head slightly as he entered the coffee shop, then paused. Mu Wenxi assumed he was looking at the menu at the entrance and quietly approached.

Lu Heting and the woman ordered coffee at the counter before they were about to sit down.

Woman: "How about we sit by the window?"

Lu Heting glanced at the empty seats in the store and said, "Sit in the corner."

The woman didn't mind where she sat.

Lu Heting chose the innermost table in the left corner. The table had two chairs facing each other, and behind one of the chairs was a large decorative flowerpot that blocked the view between the two adjacent tables.

While Lu Heting was looking down, Mu Wenxi quickly slipped away and sat down in front of a seat in front of the decorative flowerpots, her back to him.

Facing Lu Heting, but because the flowerpot was so large, he couldn't see Lu Heting's figure very clearly.

Mu Wenxi lowered his head, pretending to look at the menu, but in reality, he had already pricked up his ears to listen to what the two were saying.

The coffee shop was relatively quiet, with a few people around but not many. The distance between the two tables was still not close enough, and you could occasionally hear two people talking, but you couldn't quite make out what they were saying. You could only hear a few words that occasionally popped out when the other person's voice was a bit loud.

Mu Wenxi dared not get any closer, so she took a small mirror and pretended to put on makeup, while actually observing the two people's reactions from time to time out of the corner of her eye.

Mu Wenxi couldn't see Lu Heting's expression, but the other woman was laughing out loud from time to time. Mu Wenxi muttered to herself, "Heh, Lu Heting seems to be having a good time chatting with someone."

She ordered a coffee and guessed from the words she overheard that the two seemed to be talking about something. She kept her head down, occasionally looking up as if to look elsewhere but actually observing.

From Lu Heting's perspective, he could see a small head occasionally lifting up, glancing in their direction, and then quickly moving away as if trying to cover it up. Through the gaps in the greenery, Lu Heting could see that the other person was wearing a mask, revealing a pair of familiar eyes.

Lu Heting interrupted the woman with a deep look in his eyes: "Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom."

Woman: "Okay, go ahead."

Mu Wenxi didn't hear the sound from that direction for a while. She looked up slightly and found that Lu Heting was gone. Could he have gone to the toilet? She looked around and was about to get up when she saw Lu Heting walk out of the toilet. She immediately turned back and pretended to look at her phone.

As Lu Heting walked back to his seat, he glanced at Mu Wenxi inadvertently before sitting down with a smile on his lips.

The two continued their discussion. The woman picked up her coffee, took a sip, and then picked up her phone to take a picture. The camera was still in selfie mode when the woman suddenly noticed something.

She got up, came back, glanced in Mu Wenxi's direction, and then returned to her seat. She then typed on her phone and handed it to Lu Heting.

The woman said, "It seems like the people behind us are eavesdropping on our conversation. Are they related to this case?"

Lu Heting shook his head, took his phone, and sent a message to the woman. The woman looked at it and saw that it read: "It's okay, don't worry, that's my girlfriend."

The woman's eyes widened, then she seemed to remember something and leaned forward, whispering, "You two had a fight?"

Lu Heting nodded, then shook his head and sighed: "He must be jealous."

Woman: "You're really good at it."

Mu Wenxi couldn't hear what was being said on the other end and wanted Xiao A to relay it several times, but then she stopped, thinking that Xiao A's behavior of following was already bad enough, and that eavesdropping would be even worse, so she gave up.

When she saw the woman seemingly moving closer to Lu Heting, her heart skipped a beat. Fortunately, the two finished their discussion quickly and were about to leave. When Mu Wenxi heard the two getting up, she quickly picked up a magazine and covered her face.

As the two walked by, Lu Heting glanced in her direction. Her round little head peeked out, her face hidden behind a magazine, which made her look rather cute.

The woman at the door said goodbye to Lu Heting: "You lad, your girlfriend is so beautiful. There's no conflict that can't be resolved. Cherish her."

Lu Heting: "Understood, Sister Yan."

After the woman left, Lu Heting lingered at the door for a moment before taking his long legs and returning to the school.

Mu Wenxi peeked out from the magazine and saw the woman leave. Lu Heting also walked towards the school, so Mu Wenxi quickly followed.

She thought she was being discreet, but in reality, people around her could easily notice her. So when she arrived, Lu Heting spotted her and wanted to see what she was up to.

Lu Heting has long legs; one of his steps is equivalent to two or three of Mu Wenxi's. In addition, he did not deliberately slow down and even sped up, causing Mu Wenxi to walk somewhat hurriedly.

She followed Lu Heting all the way back to the men's dormitory before stamping her foot, slightly out of breath: "So what if you have long legs?"

Lu Heting watched her departing figure from the second-floor window and couldn't help but laugh out loud, but then he lowered his mouth again when he remembered their argument.

Mu Wenxi returned to her dormitory, intending to find other solutions, but she still had to take care of her studies first. As she picked up her schoolbag to go to the library, her mother called.

These past few days, Mu Wenxi hasn't had her family deliver food to her anymore. When her parents found out, they immediately called to check on their beloved daughter.

Mother Shepherd: "Sweetie, is the food at home not good? Why don't you ask Uncle Li to bring you food anymore?"

Mu Wenxi: "It's delicious, but Mom, I see that everyone else eats in the cafeteria. I want to spend more time with my classmates and get used to it."

Mu's father came over and said, "Okay, make more friends with your classmates at school. If you need anything, just call us. You've brought all your medicine with you, right?"

Mu Wenxi: "I know, I have it with me, I carry it with me at all times."

Mother: "Okay, then my dear, you must come back this weekend."

Mu Wenxi: "Okay, I will definitely come back."

Mu's mom and dad really spoil Mu Wenxi too much. They discovered that he hadn't brought her food for just two days. No wonder the original owner of this body was so pampered.

When Mu Wenxi arrived at the library, many students in the same major were also shocked for a moment. Mu Wenxi noticed these gazes and thought that the original owner of this body had probably never been to the library before.

That evening, she turned on her phone, but there were still no messages from Lu Heting. Her social media was empty; she had no contacts and hadn't even posted anything on her Moments.
