Chapter 290 The second male lead’s ex-girlfriend died early 12

Thinking of Mu Wenxi's temper before, Mu's father couldn't help but say, "Wenxi's temper has improved a lot now. She used to throw tantrums at the drop of a hat."

Mother Mu: "Girls are fine to be a little pampered. I used to be worried that she would grow up to be a bad person."

Father Mu: "Don't worry, don't overthink it. Besides, it's not like we're short of money. She can spend it however she wants."

Mother Shepherd: "How can you say that? Money shouldn't be spent recklessly."

Father: "Okay, you're right."

The next morning, the family driver brought Mu Wenxi back to school with lots of bags and packages, and the dormitory was filled with the love of Mu's mom and dad.

Even though it doesn't take long to drive from home to school, Mu's parents were worried that she wouldn't eat or stay well at school, so they had the driver bring her a lot of things. Of course, Mu Wenxi embraced their love wholeheartedly.

While preparing for her exams in the dormitory, Mu Wenxi was also thinking about bringing water to Lu Heting.

Mu Wenxi: "Little A, can you help me find out when Lu Heting usually goes to play basketball?"

Xiao A: "Boss, according to past data, Lu Heting usually goes to the basketball gym or outdoor basketball court with his teammates to play basketball on Tuesday and Thursday nights."

Mu Wenxi: "Okay."

She checked her schedule, crossed out the days of exams, and realized she would still have several opportunities to deliver water before winter break: "Luckily, I still have time."

She put down her phone and started reviewing her lessons with peace of mind.

Ever since Mu Wenxi said she would bring him water, Lu Heting had been wondering when Mu Wenxi would come back. He didn't want to send Mu Wenxi a message directly, since the two of them hadn't officially gotten back together yet. He felt that sending a message to ask directly would make him seem anxious.

At noon, as usual, he ate his meal in the cafeteria while secretly observing his surroundings. Sure enough, he spotted Mu Wenxi as soon as he entered the cafeteria. Mu Wenxi must have arrived at school in the morning, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

In the afternoon, he made a special effort to get ready to go to the basketball court.

His roommate, Guang, seeing him fiddling around, assumed he had some plans: "Where are you going?"

Lu Heting: "Playing basketball."

Guang: "Okay, see you tonight."

Lu Heting walked out of the dormitory without turning his head. Guang glanced at his phone and said, "Hey, isn't today Tuesday? Do you need to dress so smartly to play basketball?"

In the indoor basketball court, Lu Heting took off his clothes in the locker room and found an empty basketball hoop to play basketball by himself.

He usually plays with his teammates, but today, since it's not Tuesday, his teammates aren't there, so he came alone. He occupied a basketball hoop by himself and took out three-pointers every now and then.

His classmate recognized him and invited him, "Want to play together?"

Lu Heting smiled and politely declined, saying, "Thank you, I'll practice by myself today."

He kept moving his hands and glancing around every now and then. Why hadn't Mu Wenxi come yet? You little liar!

He thought for a moment, then raised his phone, took a picture of the basketball hoop, and posted it on his WeChat Moments, visible only to Mu Wenxi, with the caption "So tired."

Mu Wenxi immediately received a report from Xiao A: "Boss, Lu Heting went to the basketball court."

"What? You said Lu Heting went to the basketball court?"

A: "Yes, he posted it on his WeChat Moments."

Mu Wenxi checked her phone and immediately got up to change her clothes: "I'll go deliver the water right away."

She walked to the window, took a bottle of mineral water from the several boxes of water that the driver had helped carry up, and hurriedly rushed to the indoor basketball court.

The basketball court was brightly lit, and many students were playing basketball inside. Mu Wenxi stood at the entrance and looked inside. Not far away, a figure looked somewhat like Lu Heting. He was sitting there alone, fiddling with his phone. The surrounding area was bustling with people, and Mu Wenxi suddenly felt that he seemed a little lonely.

She walked over and patted him on the shoulder.

Lu Heting was just thinking about what would happen if Mu Wenxi couldn't see his post on WeChat Moments when he felt the girl behind him calling his name softly.

He turned his head to the side; it was Mu Wenxi.

How did she get here so quickly? Has she been keeping an eye on her WeChat Moments?

Mu Wenxi, standing before me, was holding a bottle of mineral water, her face flushed, and she was slightly out of breath, as if she had rushed over in a hurry. Moreover, she was still wearing the slippers from her dormitory.

Lu Heting's expression suddenly changed: "You ran here?"

Mu Wenxi didn't know why he suddenly seemed a bit fierce, but she nodded when she heard Lu Heting's question.

Lu Heting looked down at her feet: "You came out without even changing your shoes."

Mu Wenxi looked down and saw that she was indeed still wearing a pair of cute pink slippers. She moved her toes a little uncomfortably, she must have forgotten them when she rushed over.

She whispered, "I forgot."

Lu Heting suddenly stopped being angry: "Let's go, I'll take you home."

Mu Wenxi: "Aren't you playing basketball anymore?"

Lu Heting: "Let's stop fighting."

The two attracted the attention of some people, especially Mu Wenxi, whose outfit stood out among the group of men.

Lu Heting noticed the curious gazes directed at him and quickly put the little girl's hat on her head.

“Come with me,” Lu Heting said, pulling Mu Wenxi to the door of the changing room. “Wait for me while I change my clothes.”

Mu Wenxi: "Okay."

Lu Heting quickly changed his inner clothes, and when he came out, he saw Mu Wenxi sitting there obediently, not moving at all.

He took his big coat from the chair, went out the door, and wrapped the little girl up tightly.

Before Mu Wenxi could even react, he had become a rice dumpling.

Some people around were still a bit gossipy, but fortunately Mu Wenxi didn't forget to wear a mask.

When Mu Wenxi realized what was happening, she noticed that Lu Heting's clothes were rather thin. Mu Wenxi tried to take off his coat, but Lu Heting stopped her.

Lu Heting even pulled the zipper up further: "I'm not cold, you wear it."

"Oh," Mu Wenxi thought of her task and took out the bottle of water again, "Do you want some?"

Lu Heting glanced at her, took the water from her hand and drank a few sips. Neither of them spoke as they walked towards the dormitory together.

After a while, Lu Heting spoke up, "Tomorrow I'd like to drink warm water, like...like the way you did last time, is that okay?"

Last time?

Was it the water that was in the thermos last time?

Mu Wenxi: "Okay, I'll bring it to you in a thermos tomorrow."

Lu Heting escorted her downstairs: "Go upstairs."

Mu Wenxi waved goodbye to him and left.

Lu Heting couldn't remember the last time he escorted Mu Wenxi back to her dorm. This was a first for him. Although he had escorted Mu Wenxi a few times before, this time the feeling was different from the previous ones.

This was also the first time Mu Wenxi had taken the initiative to bring him water and watch him play basketball. Although he had asked for this, he was vaguely afraid that Mu Wenxi might not come again.
