Chapter 303 A Messy Tale: The Disabled Second Male Lead's Lucky Charm 2

Mu Wenxi then slightly raised her head. She had already noticed that the apartment was a two-bedroom, one-living room unit. The house was old, with some pits and bumps on the walls. There was a small room on the right that was her room.

She entered the room, which was very small, only able to fit a 1.2-meter bed and a set of children's table and chairs, which were clearly no longer suitable for the original owner's height.

In the original owner's memories, even this house was given to her by Aunt Bei. She walked into the bathroom, and the girl in the mirror was thin and bony, with bangs that covered her eyes. She was wearing a school uniform and her face was very pale.

She looked malnourished. She lifted her bangs. Actually, the original owner had very beautiful features and a smooth face shape, but her lips were pale as if she were sick and had no color at all.

There were two piles of clothes next to the bed, which were all the original owner's clothes.

I was originally planning to change my clothes, but now it seems I don't need to change at all. Apart from the school uniform, all the clothes in the two piles are pitifully small.

Inside the low children's desk were the original owner's school card and ID card, which Mu Wenxi casually put into his pocket.

As she stepped out of the room, Mu Guoqiang was still smoking, seemingly in a trance. She shook her head and quickly fled the house: "I can't stay here any longer."

A: "Boss, are you really going to go find the second male lead?"

Mu Wenxi shook his head: "Of course we can't go looking for them. Let's just wait."

Bei Ying's home.

Inside the villa, Bei Ying walked back and forth on the smooth tiles, occasionally urging, "Mom, has she arrived yet?"

A woman sat on the sofa, dressed in a suit and black skirt, looking dignified. She put down her teacup and said, "I've already spoken to your uncle and asked him to bring Mu Wenxi here."

The two waited and waited but Mu Wenxi didn't show up until Bei's father rushed back.

Father Bei: "Where is he?"

Aunt Bei immediately stood up and went to greet him: "Husband."

Mr. Bei was a short, stout man with a face full of flesh, and his mouth moved awkwardly as he spoke: "The Huo family is urging us, why haven't they arrived yet?"

Aunt Bei: "I'll call and ask."

Upon receiving the call, Mu Guoqiang kicked a wine bottle: "What? That little brat didn't go? He's got too big for his britches now."

Aunt Bei suppressed her anger: "Go find it quickly."

Mr. Bei was also furious and ordered someone to go find it immediately.

The Huo residence.

Huo Jiangliu lay on the bed, staring unblinkingly at the ceiling. The room was dark, and the curtains were drawn tightly.

"Knock knock knock".

There was a knock on the door, and a nanny, carrying a tray, knocked on the door timidly.

Huo Jiangliu grew annoyed by the knocking. His legs were paralyzed, and he would be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. The knocking continued, and he suddenly roared, "Get out!"

The nanny shuddered and stumbled downstairs.

Mrs. Huo's eyes were a little red: "Is he still not opening the door?"

She thought a lot about how difficult it is to be a mother. Mrs. Huo took the porridge from the nanny, opened the door, and walked in by the light from outside: "Baby, it's Mommy."

There was no response.

Mrs. Huo got up and pulled back the curtains a little, letting in light from outside.

Huo Jiangliu turned his head away.

With a slight sob in her voice, Huo's mother said, "Liu'er, eat a little. Listen to your mother."

Huo Jiangliu: "Mom, I have no appetite."

With a worried look on her face, Huo's mother tentatively said, "Mom has already gone to find the Bei family. You were in a car accident because of that little girl, and Mom asked her to come and take care of you."

Huo Jiangliu suddenly turned his head to look at his mother and uttered each word clearly: "I don't want to see those people."

After saying that, he turned his head away again. The sunlight outside was too dazzling; he didn't belong to the outside world.

Huo's mother quietly put down the porridge, got up, drew the curtains, and wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes: "It's okay, son. I will not let anyone who hurt you get away with it."

Mr. Huo: "How is it, son? Have you eaten?"

Mrs. Huo shook her head, covered her face, and couldn't help but cry: "I won't let them get away with this, I won't..."

Mr. Huo patted Mrs. Huo on the shoulder to comfort her, and then called his assistant: "Where are the Bei family members? Go and urge them quickly."

Wearing only a thin school uniform, Mu Wenxi wandered aimlessly outside. It was a bit cold at night, and she couldn't find anywhere to go. If all else failed, she planned to sleep in the park.

She tightened her clothes, feeling a bit hungry. She hadn't taken anything with her when she left because the original owner of this body had nothing, not even a single coin. She probably spent all her money on food.

As she walked, she looked up at the tall buildings in front of her. Mu Wenxi felt a sense of longing. She touched her heart and knew that this was the emotion left over from the original owner of the body. All she wanted was to have enough to eat and wear and to have a home.

There's a newly opened shop in front of the store on the first floor, with wreaths still hanging on both sides.

The shop assistant stood at the door shouting: "Come on, come on, it's our new store opening! Everyone who walks by can enter a lucky draw!"

Mu Wenxi's eyes lit up; it was a perfect opportunity to test out the props.

The store floor was piled high with gift boxes, almost spilling out of the store, and many people lined up in long queues to enter the lucky draw.

The shop assistant kept calling out, and when Mu Wenxi came over, she promoted the product to her: "Come on, little girl, you can line up for a lucky draw."

Mu Wenxi glanced at the billboard next to her. First prize: 1 winner, a mobile phone worth 6999; Second prize: 2 winners, an electric scooter worth 2999; Third prize: 10 winners, a four-piece bedding set worth 999; Souvenirs: 1000 winners, a pair of socks, while supplies last.

The prizes were quite attractive; at the very least, it was a pair of socks. So Mu Wenxi joined the long queue.

"They're all socks, let's go."

"The socks are nice too."

"I didn't get a car, but I got socks."

"Thank you, boss, I wish you booming business."

Mu Wenxi listened to the conversations of the people in front of her without reacting. When it was her turn, she walked into the venue, casually picked up the most inconspicuous box in the corner, opened it, and found not socks, but a note that read "First Prize".

Mu Wenxi thought the prop was quite effective, and she handed the note to the shop assistant.

The shop assistant exclaimed in surprise, "My goodness, young lady, you're so lucky! You've won the only first prize! I'll contact our boss to get you the prize, just a moment."

Mu Wenxi called out to her, "Wait a minute, can I get cash instead?"

The shop assistant hesitated for a moment: "I need to ask the boss for an answer."

Mu Wenxi stood there waiting, with many people queuing behind her.

"The first prize is gone? The second prize is not bad either."

"The little girl is so thin."

Meanwhile, the shop assistant contacted the boss: "Boss, a little girl won our first prize, but she asked if she could get cash instead. She looks very thin and malnourished."

The shop assistant hung up the phone and told Mu Wenxi to sit in the shop for a while: "The boss will be here soon."

A man quickly arrived and smelled the prize: "Who won first prize?"
