Chapter 343 The Female Supporting Character Doesn't Escape (Imprisonment) 13

Xue Lin's illness gradually improved with Mu Wenxi's companionship. Mu Wenxi spent several years in his dreams. Just before Xue Lin was about to fully recover, Mu Wenxi discovered that he had become a different person.

She had forgotten Xue Lin. She never went to see him again. Looking at Xue Lin who was looking for her, she was somewhat puzzled, as if he had never appeared in her world.

Xue Lin collapsed again, and he said to Mu Wenxi, "You are not her."

He didn't know if everything before was a dream or a hallucination. His illness was getting worse and worse, and Mu Wenxi watched as he would transform into a different person from time to time.

He took over the Xue family's business, dealt with his father and mother properly, and then said he would wait for Mu Wenxi to appear.

When Mu Wenxi appeared, Xue Lin knew she wasn't the one in his heart, but he believed she would come back. He wanted to protect her health so that he would be the first to know when she returned.

Mu Wenxi woke up to find herself still on the sofa in the study, with the economics book still covering her face. This dream had been so long. It turned out that it was her from the very beginning. She began to have many other feelings for Xue Lin.

If she initially approached Xue Lin with ulterior motives or to fulfill the original owner's wishes, she now feels much more pity and remorse towards him. If she hadn't suddenly disappeared, Xue Lin's illness should have been cured.

He hadn't been in so much pain all these years. No wonder the original owner always felt that he was seeing others through the original owner's eyes, and that person was her.

Mu Wenxi chuckled: "He thought he had trapped me, but in fact, he unknowingly became a part of me."

She suddenly realized that Xue Lin was the trapped beast in the cage, and she was the guardian who held the key.

Mu Wenxi left the study and went to the third floor, a place she had never set foot on before. She had always thought that everything was irrelevant to her and had never been curious, but now she was very interested.

She entered the only tightly closed room, which contained a lot of evidence that Mu Wenxi had ever existed.

From kindergarten to elementary school to middle school, until the time she left, he helped her preserve so many memories.

She didn't know why she was dreaming, nor why she had returned to Xue Lin's childhood, but none of that mattered anymore.

When Mu Wenxi asked Xue Lin if he could go to other rooms to take a look, Xue Lin had a feeling that Mu Wenxi had truly returned or had remembered.

He quickly ended the meeting, postponed other matters, grabbed his clothes, and rushed home.

He slowly walked up the stairs. The journey to the third floor had never felt so long. He gently pushed open the door, and the person he had been longing for was standing in front of countless photos.

Will she be angry? Will she leave again? Xue Lin had never been so cautious. He was extremely flustered and afraid, waiting for death to come.

She looked at him silently, her gaze like a sharp blade, making him afraid to look directly at her.

"Look at me?" Mu Wenxi's voice was soft, yet it carried an undeniable sense of pressure.

Xue Lin suddenly raised his head, wanting to say something, but his eyes were locked on by her insightful gaze. His heart skipped a beat, and his vulnerability was laid bare before her.

Mu Wenxi smiled slightly, as if she could see through his inner turmoil, "Do you know? You are no longer yourself. You belong to me now."

Xue Lin froze, his heart pounding faster than usual. He tried to break free from that indescribable dependence, only to find that he had never felt such a deep longing before. She was right; he couldn't escape Mu Wenxi's clutches.

Mu Wenxi's eyes gradually reddened. She walked quickly forward. Right now, she didn't want to do anything but give him a hug.

"Xue Lin, I remember now."

She was pulled into Xue Lin's arms, and he held her tightly as if trying to meld her into his very bones. Although her waist and back ached, she did not refuse the embrace; it was a genuine feeling of their presence.

Mu Wenxi felt a sharp pain in her ear; Xue Lin had bitten her ear hard.

In return, Mu Wenxi bit down hard on Xue Lin's neck, the taste of blood spreading in his mouth. Although there was some pain near his collarbone, Xue Lin felt a sense of pleasure.

It's her.

Mu Wenxi was unknowingly picked up by Xue Lin, and they returned to that familiar golden cage. Mu Wenxi sank into the soft cotton quilt, and soon Xue Lin followed closely behind.

In the darkness, Mu Wenxi's fingernails dug tightly into Xue Lin's back, leaving deep cuts. The smell of blood excited the two of them immensely.

Xue Lin didn't ask Mu Wenxi where he had been all this time, and Mu Wenxi didn't ask Xue Lin if he had recovered. Neither of them minded.

Mu Wenxi: "Alin, will you still lock me up?"

Xue Lin paused, then said, "No, I won't lock you up anymore."

Mu Wenxi: "But I want you to lock me up."

Xue Lin's tone was somewhat hesitant, as if he became much more rational when it came to Mu Wenxi: "Is...is it okay?"

Mu Wenxi: "Okay, I like it very much. Both of you are you, don't suppress yourself."

Xue Lin: "You've always known."

Mu Wenxi: "I knew a long time ago."

Xue Lin's gaze changed imperceptibly: "I'll take you somewhere."

He picked up Mu Wenxi and helped her put on her clothes.

Mu Wenxi let him do as he pleased, her voice slightly hoarse: "Okay."

Late at night, Xue Lin drove Mu Wenxi to another place. Mu Wenxi was in Xue Lin's arms at the time. If she looked closely, she would find that this place was the former Xue family home.

But at this moment, the place was empty.

Xue Lin said excitedly, "You'll definitely like this place."

He carried Mu Wenxi into a room in the villa and put her on the ground. Only then did Mu Wenxi open her eyes.

What Mu Wenxi saw shocked him. If the golden cage in the villa was just a decoration, then this one was real.

She reached out and stroked it: "When did you make it?"

Xue Lin curled one corner of his mouth: "After you left."

Xue Lin then led her into a room next door: "From that time on, I thought that if you came back, I would lock you up forever, but unfortunately he couldn't bear to."

Mu Wenxi raised an eyebrow: "You're willing to do that?"

The Xue Lin before him now possessed a more sinister air. He picked up a pair of handcuffs hanging nearby and stroked them gently: "I'm willing to part with them."

Mu Wenxi: "I never expected you to be like this, Xue Lin."

Xue Lin's face darkened: "It won't get better anymore, do you mind?"

Mu Wenxi shook his head.

Xue Lin scoffed, "Even if you mind, I won't let you go."

Mu Wenxi held out his hand to Xue Lin: "I couldn't ask for more."

With a "click".

One end of the handcuffs was cuffed to Mu Wenxi's hand, while the other end was quickly cuffed to Xue Lin's own hand.
