Wenxi lay in bed staring at the ceiling; this was the first time she had ever been sick.
Gu Ye took the towel from the nanny and wiped Wen Xi's forehead.
Wen Xi remained motionless, her hazy eyes somewhat dazed. She felt Gu Ye gently wiping her hand, and a strange feeling stirred within her.
"Xi Xi? Wen Xi? Wen Xi!"
"Um?"
"Eat something before you sleep."
"Um".
In a daze, she was helped up by a pair of large hands.
Gu Ye looked at the dazed girl in front of him and his Adam's apple bobbed.
Her hair, damp with sweat, clung to her face, and her slightly pale lips added to her delicate appearance.
She fed Wenxi spoonful by spoonful of porridge, and even wiped away the traces around her mouth with her thumb.
Tata carefully tiptoed into the room.
Gu Ye made a gesture: "Shh."
Tata walked more carefully to the bedside and watched as her uncle tucked the blanket around her mother and carried her out.
"Uncle, is Mom sick too?"
"Okay, don't bother Mom."
Tata looked at him with a mournful gaze, and the two tufts of hair on her head twitched. He wouldn't bother his mother, hmph.
He turned and ran away, intending to tell his mother when she woke up.
Gu Ye checked on Wen Xi several times throughout the night, constantly wiping her face, neck, and hands until her temperature gradually decreased.
The nanny took the basin of water and said, "Young Master, why don't you go and rest for a while?"
Gu Ye: "It's alright, you go and rest. I'll take care of things here. Please look after Tata."
Looking at Gu Ye taking such good care of Wen Xi, the nanny thought to herself, "Good things are just around the corner for this family."
Looking at the pale-faced girl in front of him, Gu Ye realized that his feelings for Mu Wenxi had unknowingly changed.
At first it was politeness, then it was admiration, and now this girl has taken up residence in his heart.
Wenxi was woken up several times by Xiao A throughout the night, and eventually she simply blocked out the sound.
Little A kept making noise in her mind.
"Boss, Gu Ye is here to wipe your hands again."
"Boss, Gu Ye is here to feed you porridge."
"Boss, it's two o'clock and Gu Ye is still awake. He's taking your temperature."
Wen Xi opened her eyes in the darkness: "Gu Ye?"
Gu Ye asked with a hint of worry, "Are you feeling better?"
Wen Xi: "Yes, thank you."
Gu Ye took the water glass and helped Wen Xi up: "Would you like some hot water?"
Wen Xi took a sip and lay back down.
Gu Ye patted her hand: "Sleep well, good girl, you'll be fine by dawn."
Wen Xi: "Hmm"
"Boss, it's dawn. Gu Ye has finally gone to sleep."
"You're so annoying, A."
Tata woke up in the morning under the care of the butler and came to the door of her mother's room, but was too scared to go in.
Wen Xi had already woken up and saw the little head at the door: "Tata?"
Tata whispered at the foot of the bed, careful not to disturb her, "Mom, are you feeling better?"
Wen Xi replied weakly, "I'm feeling better. How about you?"
Tata: "Mommy, I'm all better now. Did you take your medicine, Mommy?"
Wen Xi sat up and prepared to get out of bed.
Tata immediately ran in and helped her up, saying, "Mommy, let me help you."
Wen Xi: "Okay."
After sleeping for a few hours, the first thing Gu Ye did upon waking was to check on Wen Xi: "Are you feeling better?"
Sensing that he hadn't slept all night, Wen Xi smiled and said, "Much better."
"That's good".
Grandpa Butler prepared a sumptuous dinner to nourish everyone.
For three consecutive days, Wenxi and Tata did not go out to play because the fourth episode was about to start, and they needed to recover before recording the show.
Gu Ye shuttles between his home and the publishing house every day, and sometimes he also goes to Gu Lang's company to help with some things.
Gu Ye is the busiest person in the family; he also has to check on Wen Xi and Tata every night.
Gu Ye: "Once I'm done with my work these past few days, I'll accompany you to record the show."
Wen Xi: "Is that okay?"
Gu Ye: "I asked the director, and I worked with the other staff members of the production team, while I worked behind the scenes."
Wen Xi: "Okay, you can also check out what our program is like."
The day before the recording, the three of them rushed to the airport. At the airport gate, Tata was about to say goodbye to her uncle, but Gu Ye followed them all the way to the plane.
Tata was both surprised and puzzled: "Uncle, are you coming with us too?"
"Um".
Tata was delighted: "That's fantastic!"
He most wanted to be with his uncle and mother, and it would be even better if his father were there, but his uncle was also very nice.
The journey was quite long, so Wenxi took out the small mat she had prepared and gently covered the sleeping Tata with it.
Gu Ye: "Do you want to take a nap?"
Wen Xi: "I don't want to right now."
Gu Ye looked at the girl with gentle eyes: "Okay, then you can lean on me when you want to sleep."
"good".
Anyone who sees three people would think they are a family of three.
At dawn, as the sun just rose above the horizon, everyone headed to the dock to proceed to their destination.
Gu Ye and the production crew stayed behind.
On the fishing boat, a fishy smell permeated the air, and some people unconsciously covered their noses.
The boat was moving very fast, creating splashes of water on both sides. Some people got seasick from the rocking and vomited in the sea.
Gray Mom took the water from Wenxi's hand and rinsed her mouth, while the other mothers also frowned and endured their discomfort.
The babies behaved better than the adults, all of them very energetic, looking left and right, it was their first time riding on such a fishing boat.
The fishing boat slowly came to a stop on the shore, where the village chief was already waiting for everyone. Villagers helped everyone, big and small, ashore one by one.
