Chapter 260 My Boyfriend is a Ghost 13

Xiao Chang'an shook his head: "No."

Mu Wenxi's eyes lit up: "Do you want to run into me?"

Xiao Chang'an nodded, a few strands of black hair playfully climbing up his face.

Mu Wenxi exchanged for the item and stretched out his hand, palm open: "Now it's ready."

Xiao Chang'an slowly raised his hand, and his slender fingers gently touched the back of Mu Wenxi's hand from his wide sleeves.

Mu Wenxi turned around and grabbed Xiao Chang'an's hand. A hint of surprise flashed in Xiao Chang'an's eyes. How warm.

Mu Wenxi quickly looked away and said, "I...I wasn't being a pervert."

Xiao Chang'an's lips curled up slightly: "I know your hands are warm."

Mu Wenxi: "Then try touching something else."

Xiao Chang'an: "Can you do it?"

Mu Wenxi: "Give it a try."

Xiao Chang'an reached out and touched the table next to him, feeling the solid object. His eyes lit up: "It really works."

Mu Wenxi smiled.

Xiao Chang'an asked with some confusion, "Who... are you?"

Mu Wenxi: "I am an ordinary person in this world."

Xiao Chang'an: "Understood."

Mu Wenxi: "Why did you let me enter the array formation of this house?"

Xiao Chang'an: "It wasn't me who chose you, it was this house."

Mu Wenxi: "This house?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Yes, this is the house I used to live in."

Mu Wenxi: "There must be other secrets in this house."

Xiao Chang'an: "Hmm."

As Mu Wenxi stepped out of the main room, he suddenly remembered something: "Are there any other ghosts here besides you?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Yes."

Mu Wenxi: "Then you absolutely have to come with me."

Xiao Chang'an: "Okay."

When Mu Wenxi entered the inner courtyard, she looked at the vat again. The surrounding environment suddenly became somewhat cold and gloomy, an unnatural cold. Behind her, the white ball of fur from that day had reappeared at some point.

It seemed quite happy, hopping and skipping around. Mu Wenxi gradually stopped being afraid of it; she could sense that the white ball was gentle and adorable.

Mu Wenxi: "It's you?"

The white cat approached Mu Wenxi and nuzzled her hand from a distance. After noticing Xiao Chang'an next to Mu Wenxi, it stared at him for a while before getting closer and sticking up to him.

Mu Wenxi asked incredulously, "You seem to know Xiao Chang'an. Are you some kind of ghost with memories and consciousness?"

The white ball swayed as if answering Mu Wenxi's question.

Xiao Chang'an stared at the white ball for a while, and suddenly felt a mix of emotions. His lips parted slightly as if he wanted to say something, but he stopped. His expression was a mix of nostalgia and sadness. After a long while, he felt somewhat relieved.

Mu Wenxi: "What's wrong?"

Xiao Chang'an led her to the tombstone.

Mu Wenxi: "It's this tombstone. That white blob came out of this tombstone."

Xiao Chang'an sighed: "She is my mother."

Mu Wenxi looked at the stone tablet in front of him: "Did you put this up for your mother?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Yes, I did it after I learned the truth."

Mu Wenxi: "So this white thing is your mother?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Hmm, she doesn't seem willing to leave."

Mu Wenxi: "Maybe your mother also wants to see you?"

Xiao Chang'an reached out to touch the white mass: "Yes, I want to see her too."

The white mass slowly grew larger and enveloped Xiao Chang'an, as if embracing him.

Mu Wenxi: "So your mother has to stay here forever?"

Xiao Chang'an was somewhat reluctant: "She will leave when she wants to. Let's go."

Mu Wenxi nodded, turning back every few steps. The white ball kept staring in the direction they left. Suddenly, an idea came to Mu Wenxi's mind.

When she returned home, her parents were sitting on the sofa watching TV.

Mu Wenxi: "Mom and Dad, you're still awake?"

Mother Shepherd: "It's almost bedtime, why are you back today?"

Mu Wenxi: "I want to come back. I sleep well at home."

Father: "Don't neglect your studies."

Mu Wenxi: "Understood."

She returned to her room, and Xiao Chang'an followed her in. He was so excited that he touched everything here and there like a child.

Mu Wenxi: "This is aromatherapy, I don't know if you can smell it?"

Xiao Chang'an leaned closer and shook his head.

Mu Wenxi rolled her eyes, grabbed Xiao Chang'an, held up the candle, and took a deep breath. Xiao Chang'an also took a breath.

His eyes gleamed in the darkness: "I can smell it, it smells like grass."

Mu Wenxi: "Really?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Hmm."

Mu Wenxi said thoughtfully, "Looks like I'm an intermediary. You take your time, I'm going to take a shower."

Before going to sleep, Mu Wenxi peeked out from under the covers and looked at Xiao Chang'an, who was sitting by the window looking somewhat lonely. Mu Wenxi was moved. He looked like he was about to leave this world at any moment, and for a moment Mu Wenxi didn't want him to leave.

Mu Wenxi: "Xiao Chang'an?"

Xiao Chang'an turned his head, a few strands of his black hair obscuring his face, making him appear even more forlorn in the dim moonlight.

Mu Wenxi: "Do you want to dream about your mother?"

Xiao Chang'an turned his head, his voice tinged with a hint of caution: "Is it alright?"

Mu Wenxi patted the seat next to her: "Okay, do you trust me?"

Xiao Chang'an obediently lay down, somewhat reserved: "I believe you."

Mu Wenxi felt the cold air emanating from Xiao Chang'an's body while she was in bed, and the chill made her shiver involuntarily.

Xiao Chang'an noticed and quietly moved aside a little.

Mu Wenxi groped around in the blankets and grabbed Xiao Chang'an's hand: "It's okay, close your eyes."

Xiao Chang'an closed his eyes and gripped Mu Wenxi's hand tightly. Mu Wenxi's hand was so warm. He took a deep breath and smelled Mu Wenxi's scent, like the big tree in his yard, mixed with a faint grassy fragrance.

In his dream, Xiao Chang'an returned to his childhood, when he was a few months old, chubby and fair-skinned. His gentle mother, Xuan Niang, held him and hummed a little tune. He stayed quietly in Xuan Niang's arms without making a fuss.

Before Xuan Niang had finished singing her little tune, Xiao Chang'an in her arms hummed a few times.

Xuan Niang gently held him in her arms: "Are you hungry, Chang An?"

So this is what my mother looked like. Her eyebrows and eyes were like a painting, gentle and charming. His eyebrows and eyes resembled his mother's, and his mother's voice was melodious and pleasant to listen to.

Soon he woke up from his dream. Xiao Chang'an raised his right hand and touched his chest. A warm feeling spread throughout his body. After a thousand years, he could still feel warmth and see his mother.

He stood there quietly, lost in thought, seemingly still savoring the beauty of his dream.

When Mu Wenxi woke up in the morning, she noticed the coldness in her hands and realized that there was a ghost lying next to her.

Xiao Chang'an lay motionless on his back with his eyes closed beside him. Mu Wenxi curiously leaned over to take a look, only to be caught by Xiao Chang'an, who had just opened his eyes.

Mu Wenxi paused, and Xiao Chang'an's eyes and nose were slightly red, making him look somewhat pitiful.

Mu Wenxi: "Wh...what's wrong?"

Xiao Chang'an: "Thank you for letting me dream about Xuan Niang."
